-Almost every line of dialogue in DAD
-Apted's direction in TWINE
-The cop in AVTAK
-Tanya Roberts as Stacy Sutton
-Bond bakes a quiche and falls asleep in a rocking chair

With that then, the cop in Diamonds Are Forever.

I disagree, Qwerty. The DAF cop is on screen so little and is so nondescript he really doesn't make much of an impression at all. He

To some that would be admitting that one saw the movie to the bitter end. :)

But I agree, it's a perfect example of John Glen's poor judgement on the little things in his Bond films.

The slide whistle in TMWTGG.

View Post

LOL - I was wondering when someone was going to mention that whistle! Watered down one of the best stunts in cinema history! Such a bad S/FX choice - even worse than Moore's 'Tarzan' yell or 'California Girls' snowboard song.

The Roger Moore movie that had the pigeon 'doubltaking.' I think it was 'Octopussy' but I could be wrong.

Every line Halle Berry said in DAD; but most notably - "Your Mama!"

Pierce obviously on a board with wheels on the 'Goldeneye' radar finale.

Roger Moore's wrinkles in AVTAK.

The zero gravity F/X in Moonraker.

The 593,447 bullets shot at bond in TND and not one hits him or Wai Lin.

I actually found the Sheriff more enjoyable to watch than either of these two cops.

Bond trying to hit on Jinx when she comes out of the water. I understand that he was in prison for 14 months but still. He could have said better things than "They feast like its no tommorow."

I always thought that weak kung-fu fight in TND was very obviously tacked on. Easy to shoot, considering how they were pushed for time on this film.

My list for weakest moments in Bond history:
the plane climax in DAD, although some might say TWINE's is worse.
the theme song to DAD (however, I admit it's grown on me)
the poster design for DAD featuring Bond and Jinx against the blue background..how I miss the artwork of Bob Peak.
Oh, and the bullet thru the gunbarrel, but I'll let that pass since David Arnold brought back the traditional structuring of the Bond theme for that sequence.
Other weak elements include:
The Experience of Love,
the absence of Felix Leiter in the Brosnan films
the absence of Q in LALD
Tanya Robert's Stacey Sutton.
For the literary Bond, the title: No Deals, Mr. Bond. I'll say I lost a bit of interest in the John Gardner books after Brokenclaw...never did bother to read the rest.

"Bond bakes a quiche and falls asleep in a rocking chair" - lol and I didn't get that at all when I have watched the film. Now that quirky humour is right up my street. Thats if and when I can spot it!

Though there are many "worthy" candidates for this distinction, I think one stands above the rest because it disparages more planning, work and execution than the others. This, as mentioned already, is the slide whistle from Bond's spiral jump in Golden Gun. Its inexplicable inclusion not only marrs a stunt that is as incredible today as it was back then, it deprives the film of a fitting Barry musical cue that would underscore Bond's ingenuity and skill is completing the maneuver. The ridiculous slide whistle actually helps persuade the audience that they are seeing a cheesy model shot rather than a genuine graceful, dangerous and amazing stunt. Shame on whoever at EON left this dumb sound effect in the film.

Additionally, Eric Serra's score and end title song for GoldenEye are EASILY the weakest entries to their respective categories in the entire "official" 007 series.

It is interesting that in reading these posts, a lot of peoples criticisms stem from the Brosnan era
(with the exception of GE)

^ That's because nostalgia's poison. Objectively, and from a huge variety of viewpoints, it's obvious that the pre-Brosnan films have just as many poor points (simply by weight of numbers.) We don't remember those, because people look fondly on the good ol' days.

Rightly or wrongly.
