Black tea as well (Earl Grey, two sugar, with a leaf of fresh mint ).

Alcohol: a bottle of beer will do anytime (depends on available brands), when it comes to liquor, I'm fond of some local kind of yellow plum Schnaps that is made in my neck of the woods. Champagne if available, alternatively some Cremant d'Alsace. Pastis (preferably Ricard or "51").

Never heard of alcoholic coffee, Athena? Ah, you're Californian, you won't need that too often during winter time. I thought that Irish Coffee is famous all over the world. In Germany, people usually mix coffee with Congac or Kirsch (no extras) Coffee and alcohol warm up, the coffee energizes the body and alcohol relaxes the mind.

D: You, too!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought I was the only one. I also enjoy the Strongbow, which is also from Pulners (sp)?

Woodchuck Dark and Dry or Colonial will do in an emergency but their amber is too sweet.

Cider--plain, simple and always a reason to go to London, where every pub has it on tap. Woodpecker is hard to find in NE PA, but once into NJ/NY, a lot easier.

Woodpecker -- unforunately its very hard to find here in the USA....I felt like I was in heaven when I found a place in Baltimore that sold it.

The only Woodpecker I know of is...
2 oz Vodka
15 dashes Peychaud bitters
4 chunks Ice

Then there's the Woody Woodpecker...
4 cl Cachaca
15 cl Orange juice
1 cl Galliano
3 cubes Ice

No one will make it for you, SNOW?

I had forgotten about brunch and after dinner drinks.

Mimosa and a Bloody Mary - or another fav. - the Mary Queen of Scots - same as a bloody mary but made with scotch in place of the vodka.

An Irish coffee (especially in the presence of an Irish girl) is a wonderful way to either start the day or finish an evening.

I'm also partial to a snifter of cognac with a single espresso after a meal. If my sweet-tooth is active a bit of Bailey's Irish Cream or Amaretto is always nice.

That's a different drink than the one I was referring to. Woodpecker is a drink by Gaymers that is very popular in the UK...

I'm hoping its introduced in LA before I move to the West Coast! :)

Anywho, it does sound like a great drink though :) especially the part about "energizing the body & relaxing the mind"!

Never much cared for coffee either. As for drinks, I tend to stick to the occasional glass of wine or a non-alcoholic brew.

It wasn't ALL my doing. But I'm sure some credit (or Grrr's from a few people) can the thrown at me for this... I think it will be good for SNOW to have a change of scenery and to start-a-new :)

BTW, that's a very interesting inference from Zencat, Athena. :) Never heard it put quite that way, but you leanr something new everydy! :)

Three measures of Gordons
One measure Kina Lillet
One measure of Vodka
Serve in deep Champagne goblet
small slice of lemon peel

My father-in-law introduced me to the Cask Strength Glenfarclas single malt last year, and it's my tipple of choice for the moment.
For a liquer I'll go for green Chartreuse (if available) and when it comes to vodka I'm partial to a chilled glass of oak-aged Polish Starka.

I don't really like coffee either, Athena. And being from the homeland of Starbucks, people look at me like I'm crazy.

As for drinks, I'm still 3 years away, but I'm definitly going to be trying some of the above mentioned drinks. As for non-alcoholic, Dr. Pepper is the best.

No alcohol for me. Though I will have that rare drink(twice a year) in a social setting.

For me, it's cranberry juice mixed with blackcurrant served in a pint glass. When there's no blackcurrant, just cranberry juice straight up!

Hey, as bad as it can get I'm going thru life sober! :)
