Athena, when I reach the proper age, I look forward to trying out my first Vodka Martini! However, as it seems like you are finding your 'female Bond' drink, what about Domino's "soft" *ahem*

Posted 13 January 2004 - 03:35 AM My first drink was a Vodka Martini... it HAS to be if you're a Bond fan. I highly recommend you going out the day you're "legal' in the drinking sense and downing one or two... but not three (in the words of ZenCat, "Martini's are like breasts: one just isn't enough, two is perfect, and three's defiantly too many"). Surprisingly I've never had any kind of "Bloody Mary", that may be something I'll need to try sometime soon. My other drink that I started leaning towards (but the "Vanilla Vodka Cosmo Martini

Athena - my dear , It was my pleasure to introduce you to a Cosmo with vanilla vodka.
Qwerty - When the time comes for that first legal martini, here is old Bryce's recipe. Not too far removed from a Vesper, but equally fine by Bond standards. In a shaker (of course) - - 3 measures Vodka (Stoli Crystal, Belvedere, Grey Goose, Kettle One - my personal preferences) - HINT (lightly) of vermouth (I prefer a "lightly dry" martini and vermouth only is best with Gin) Shaken until it's ice cold and served straight up with a lemon peel. You can't go wrong.

Mine?
Well, you should know Moneypenny. - My Martini as specified above. - Single-malt scotch on the rocks. (MacCallan, Glenlivet, Oban, Dalwhinnie, Gelnmorangie, Laphroig) and anyting 12 or older. Blended scotch is CRAP! - Vintage champagne - Dom, Bollinger, Crystal, Pierre - Just as long as it's ice cold - preferably with some good beluga and enogh toast. - Guinness - on draft and New Castle, although I am partial to either Killian's Red or Sierra Nevada. Bass in a pinch and Harp only in a Black and Tan.

I will drink a Vodka Martini, and enjoy it, but I really prefer a Vesper. However, after my one and only this past August, I haven't found a bartender that knows how to make it.
And before you say anything 00-three year old, I remember to say Grey Goose and not Suzy Goose. VMs have become my signature drink because my friends know my association with this place. But I also like drinking mimosas, white zinfidels, and on the appropriate holidays, Corona and Guinness. -- Xenobia

Long Island Iced Tea or Mojito (not just because it was in DAD).

Whenever I hear "Mojito" I get the picture of a small yappy dog. I don't know why.
Anywho, I've never actually tried a Mojito, what kind of taste does it have?

Red wine when I want to feel good, relaxed, happy, friendly.
Scotch rocks when I don't. Hello Mr. Hyde.

You seemed well behaved on the Scotch, when I saw you drink it. Then again, I didn't see much of anything because I was drinking too.

Posted 13 January 2004 - 11:49 AM Mojito - mint and white rhum, bit of soda or something I seem to remember... anyway, before I knew it was in DAD, I tired one - simply for variety - I said to the barman "mix me up something with rum" - so he starts pummeling this mint in the bottom of the glass, crushed ice, a few measures of white rhum.... and voila, the most putrid tasting thing I have ever tasted!! Now I do not have a sweet tooth as such, but the mojito is the most confusingly bittersweet taste - and it hits you where it hurts! My suggestion is try it, but don't take it too fast... and perhaps the shorter "mojito lowball" might be a better idea! My signiature drinks: -cocktail - Smoking blue: 1 shot vodka 1/2 shot blue cura

My 'signature' drink is Black Tea, two sugars (non alco) and Vodka and something (alco)
The something depends on what's on offer. Maybe even nothing.

I'd have to cast my vote in for the Gelnmorangie on the rocks.
The occaisional Mojito is alright, and so is a martinit... I rather like what they call an "irish martini"... it's got a shot of apple pucker in it....
