OK, this is what the title needs. It needs to sound like something Fleming would have wanted, needs to sound good as a song title, needs to be relevant to the story or the characters (and not just some throwaway quip, if at all possible), and there are certain words in a lot of post-Fleming literary titles and Bond fiction titles that are getting REALLY redundant and unoriginal, such as die, death, kill, never, forever, live(s), and so on. They only sound dull to me if they are used as frequently as they are, and something I loved about Fleming is the spontaneous, patternless titles he came up with. He would never be repetitve in the themes of his stories and titles, but they all still held and hold intrigue. I really liked the use of the title "Die Another Day", and thought it was very Flemingesque, but it's unfortunate that it had to be so soon after "Tomorrow Never DIES" (which was originally going to be called Tomorrow Never Lies-much more relative). There are a lot of Fleming's title ideas that have never been used for films, for example. I like several of them.
Shatterhand (sounds great... make it about Dr. Shatterhand)
Risico (at least let Bond go to Italy)
The Undertaker's Wind (a little dated, but back to Jamaica, which brings us to..)
Shamelady (an old favorite, Involving Bond's Jamaican home)
A Whisper of Love, A Whisper of Hate/Casino Royale (I would die for CR)
My Enemy's Enemy (I do like this one, at least the sound of it)
All To Play For (Actually a GF chapter, could adapt for a "Most Dangerous Game" situation, which would be a headhunt for Bond)
The Eye That Never Sleeps (DAF chapter, but sounds great, and I know, it uses "never", sorry)
You Won't Have a Lover (Fleming loved his pronouns-YOLT,TSWLM,FYEO)
Danger Grows Wild (about opium smuggling-alludes to poppies)
Quantum of Solace (title only)
I also have begun to think of a few, but they may be no better.
Until The Dawn
Lie In Waiting
By Any Other Name
and that's just the beginning. But, I have been triying to avoid the cliche "Bond title words" and anything alluding to the cold, since it's time for Bond to leave the snow for one movie. Anyway, tell me what you think.
