Right now I am in the middle of Dr. No. I am at the point in which Bond and Honey are captured by the tank and are on there way to meet Dr. No.

I just started Diamonds Are Forever. I finished the third chapter about a half hour ago. I noticed a lot of reviews said this novel is....well, bad, but I like it. Especially the first chapter. There's something...mysterious about it. :)

I'm part way through Gardner's No Deals, Mr. Bond. Also reading a great book called The Old, Weird America by Greil Marcus. It's written loosely around his interpretations of The Basement Tapes material by Bob Dylan. Classic stuff!

I'm currently reading Moonraker. I tried to read it a couple of weeks ago but I couldn't finish it and often got lost. Hopefully I'll have better luck this time.

I started "For Your Eyes Only" last night. More specifically I read "From a View to a Kill". I thought it was pretty good. Not the greatest, but good. Hopefully I will finish FYEO soon and then I will start "The Spy Who Loved Me".

I'd be interested to hear ("read" rather) what you think of the For Your Eyes Only stories. I thought Quantum of Solace was great, and I also liked From a View to a Kill, but overall I really found the shorter stories hard to get into. Maybe that's just me though.

"From a View to a Kill" was a bit hard to get into for me, mind you it was 2 AM when I read it. But the killing at the beginning was exciting. I'll keep you posted on how I like the rest of the stories.

I re-read Role of Honor this afternoon. A bit different than I remember it being, but good. It gets a bit too technical in spots but the SPECTRE aspect works quite well.

My favorite story from FYEO is The Hilderbrand Rarity. Quantom Of Solace was really good also.

I listen more than read these days. I have all of the Flemings unabridged on CD and rotate through them in the car. Sure beats all those annoying commercials on the radio. Sometimes I take discs from different books and put them in the changer on random. Its a bit like a 'best of' thing. This never lasts long as I always get to a part that I really like and end up staying with that book all the way through.

If you have not tried the audiobooks, you really should give them a go. Just make sure that they are unabridged.

Any idea where I can find them? I only found one CD version of Casino Royale on Amazon, but it was $40; a bit too expensive for my tastes. Where did you get yours?

I like Hildebrand Rarity as well. It's a cool change of pace from the normal 007 story.

All of the books are available unabridged on CD and cassette from www.blackstoneaudiobooks.com they also have Colonel Sun and some Benson titles.

As far as cost, yes they are expensive, but get this, you can rent them!!! Now if you rent the CD for fifteen bucks and have a CD burner............

This is the page with the Fleming titles

Well freemo (and everyone else of course), here's a review I cooked up. I will eventually post a review for all five short stories (once I've read them). Enjoy!

I am currently reading From Russia with Love. I have recently finished Diamonds are Forever, Moonraker [Fleming's], and Casino Royale. Next will be Dr. No. I'm having trouble finding LALD [recent printing] here in the U.S.

I am currently reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I know it's sad, but they are quite interesting, and the only novels of the fantasy/magical genre that I like.

I should be reading Moonraker, but since I was give this book, I'm reading it now mainly out of courtesy.

JimmyBond, are you still reading Licensed Renewed? I'am because I had to stop reading it for awhile, so that I could read a mandatory summer reading book for school.

It's a great novel, Bond111. I've read it about 5 times. Always loved the finale, good choice to read!
