If it's anything like the last series, they might as well not bother.

I understand what you mean. I thought the last series was really strong, bar the finale. Which I felt was a complete cop out. Although, I've found some comfort in it after actually realising that The Doctor was NOT a tesselecta in The Impossible Astronaut. I thought this was the case for months, but In fact if you think about it, The Doctor only invited his previous self to his own death so he would find out how to prevent it. The Doctor DID die in The Impossible Astronaut, he just got his past self to change the outcome. Infact, if you think back to Flesh and Stone, Amy asks The Doctor what he's thinking about on the beach, his reply is 'Time can be rewritten.', he says this just after River mentions that she killed a good man, which is clearly reffering to him , So you could argue that The Doctor was working that out even in series 5.

Interesting read.

I really wish they hadn't hired Chibnall back; he and Matthew Graham have penned arguably the worst two-parters of the Moffat era -- no consistent characterization in either of them.

Looks to be very much a continuation of the tone/style laid down in Series 6 which seemed to me to be an attempt to cater to the American audience a bit too much. Can't say I'm too enthused to see it again. I thought Series 5 was pretty great all round and wish they'd stuck with that tone instead of making it too glossy and high concept.

I honestly don't think ANYthing could be as high concept as the RTD years... this doesn't beat it. :-P

That was absolutely lovely Athena. Thank you very much for sharing. One day, maybe one day, I'll cross the great pond and pay a visit to that very cool Convention.

Interesting use of the new companion! Beginning and end was brilliant, the middle was SOOOOO DULL.

Well, it's the same actress, but not necessarily the same character. The new companion is Clara Oswin, who he meets in Victorian London. I expect she's supposed to be Souffle Girl's great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandmother, who looks just like her, or something.

I'm kind of hoping she ends up being the same character that eventually becomes the Doctor's companion. Can you imagine the Doctor having to deal with a
Spoiler
as his companion? I think the possibilities are endless, and it would be much more interesting than him picking up just another random girl that he bumps into.

Well. I've never been that upset during a Doctor Who episode since 'The End of Time Part 2' and the last few minutes of 'The Doctors Wife'.

Funnily enough, I thought the trailer for 7.2 was a lot better than Series 5, 6 and 7.1 all together. Let's hope this is a good year!
