I doubt they would cast the new Bond girl before they have a director.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is a big rumor that Bond defects to Russia. Obviously it is for his own personal gain (prolly to help track down white) and is just in deep undercover so not even M knows, or maybe she is the only one that knows the truth... Idk, but that is the big secret shocking detail the people were talking about."

Needless to say this is tabloid trash. one question comes from this "report" Why would bond defect to the russians to Get Mr white? I mean if the poster said because the russain agencey has better Vodka i'd believe it but outside of that... B)

Ffrom the daily star

"JAMES Bond fans are being shaken and stirred into action over the title of the 23rd blockbuster 007 film due to hit cinemas next year.

Makers MGM admit they are running out of names based on the best-selling novels of Ian Fleming.

But James Bond addicts are lobbying studio executives to choose between the names of two Fleming short stories with box office appeal.

And they’ve also designed their own promo posters to show how good they’d look. In an elaborate online battle of wits, one army of 007 fanatics is promoting Risico, originally written as part of the For Your Eyes Only novelettes.

In it, Bond is sent by M to investigate a drug-smuggling operation based in Italy that is flooding Britain with narcotics.

A rival group wants the next film to be called The Property Of A Lady, another Fleming short story that sees Bond on the trail of a gorgeous Russian double agent who has infiltrated our Secret Service.

A senior MGM executive told the Daily Star Sunday that director Sam Mendes has been “blown away” by fans’ creativity, adding: “The posters look incredibly professional.

“The title of Bond 23 is still in the melting pot and it’s true that there aren’t that many of Fleming’s major works to choose from. We and Sam are listening very closely to what the fans are saying and there is every possibility that we might latch on to one of their ideas.”

Daniel Craig has already been cast to play 007 again in Bond 23 – due for release in November next year – with Dame Judi Dench returning as spymaster M.

But a behind-the-scenes battle is already raging over which company will distribute the film worldwide.

Rival studio 20th Century Fox is bidding for those rights after MGM’s takeover by Sony Pictures – but faces a bidding war against Columbia Pictures, also owned by Sony.

The MGM exec explained: “The copyright for James Bond will always be owned by the family of Cubby Broccoli, who brought 007 to the big screen.

“But there is now a bidding war over which company gets to actually put the film in movie theatres.

“Hundreds of millions of dollars are involved and a lot of blood is going to get spilled down the line.”

"

Do i beleive it.. Hell no but am i glad we finnaly got a bloody title rumour and 2 to be exact YES....

5 bucks says by this time next week Varity will claim one of these titles is the winner of bond 23's title.

Gravity don't read thgis thread thanks.

OK...and? This doesn't exactly tell us anything we don't know. And just because they say they might latch onto one of the ideas doesn't mean they will.

I admire your enthusiasm, but neither title blows me away.

While I have posted many things from crap tabloids, the Daily Star is one of the worst ones.

I'm surprised they get the date correct on their publication.

However, I don't think Risico has a chance but POAL has.

I would highly doubt that we will hear anything until filming starts and apparently according to some crap news reporting, Craig is filming in Toronto (not Florida) and has delayed Bond filming because of this.

So crap rumours abound here and I would believe anything at all.

This is a very non non-story. The article is from The STAR so it's going to be nudging the ridiculous at best, the article (if we can even call it that) is full of errors and ill informed fiction (the "makers MGM"....?) and it is a blatant example of a bored journo scouring the internet very loosely for a story.

It ain't happening. And there will be no title announcement in Variety next week, Quantumofsolace007.

A senior MGM executive told the Daily Star Sunday that director Sam Mendes has been “blown away” by fans’ creativity, adding: “The posters look incredibly professional.

Oh please (!). Is anyone really even reading this let alone believing a word of it....? So the director that isn't even the director of a film that hasn't even got a finance and distribution house is still in the frame enough to be asked his opinion on some no doubt dire fan art... which no-one has looked at anyway....(!).

I meant to be sarcastic kind of....

Look my only reference to the preproduction bond films is Quantum of Solace. So with that one The sun said bond 22 was risico soon everyone (except for a wise few) thought bond 22 was risico Once it was denied a few months later The property of a lady was rumoured and then finnaly Quantum of solace was announced.

I can only assume that soon many people will think bond 23 is one or the other.

My thoughts go even further than this. It suggests to me that there are now efforts to create Bond 23 news: Mention of a director's comment and a release date both suggest to me that both are now even less likely than ever.

I like how the plot outline is basically regurgitated from the Bond 22 rumour back in 2007. Plus, since when have two different titles warranted two different storylines? B)

No. I don't think EVERYONE thought / believed anything about the title of BOND 22.

Using this hearsay as an example of internet chinese whispers (and you are not required to answer these...it is just hypothetical) can I ask WHO "denied" any RISICO notion for Bond 22? Where was LADY rumoured (peripheral tabloids perchance)? And when has THE SUN got anything substantial right about an imminent Bond film?

How about calling Bond 23 The Property of a Lady from Risico?

Anyway, I vote for Risico. I think EON should save The Property of a Lady for a more romantic CR/OHMSS-type Bond film and I want them to wait until after Craig for that.
