Eugh. I hate those mimes. They always acted wierd... especially with 'Pierre' (the mime 'boss') ....

The game was good though :)

I removed the 11mb file and replaced it with an exact game map, model, and textures zip file, this one less than 2 meg. I had sooooooo many downloads on those textures that my connection slowed to a crawl. :) . So ok if so many people are interested then where's the SDK ...Hello Gearbox

I just noticed the generic Bond skin in the pack of skins SparedLife has up for download. Looks like EA planned for there to be at least some form of Bond in multiplayer before MGM said no.

EDIT: Just noticed I posted the exact same thing earlier in this thread when it was first posted...

ive finished the temple for quake 3 and it looks pretty good for my first map, now i need that sdk for nightfire so i can make it for that since i know all the measures and got all my own custom textures. anybody know an eta on the sdk?

The question is not WHEN but is there an ETA. I have taken this as far as I wanted to go when I started, I just like doing the skins. :)

The British end has someone working on an extraction tool that will give better access to files than I have, hopefully they can extend that to mapping tools and modeling tools. I for one cannot see why they would delay the tools unless it's just BOND (Pierce) legal issues. Cause they sure didn't delay the game.

I textured the MP player model Mi6_tux in various animal skin tuxedos if anyone would like to use them. There are some instructions on how to use skins in the game.

I tried working with the MDL files to create a new instance of the model but so far nothing. Right now it's just a replacement skin. Can't tell if a new model would be downloaded automatically like in HL.

it sucks that they might not release the sdk because of legal issues, oh well i guess i will just play another game because nightfire is beginning to lose its appeal since there will be no new updates or editing tools for it coming out

Now is a good time to discontinue auto downloading since Internet connections are getting faster.:)

Hmmm Quake 3 (Arena), I have that game somewhere but I haven't had it installed for a couple years. I never liked Quake skinning. I have about a dozen friends who get together once a month and play some kind of Urban mod LAN style. Although lately they have been playing BF1942 about once a week.

Sorry that is only a text document showing the file structure and file names for anyone wanting to build an external file structure for custom skins. I made the MP skins available for anyone wanting to make custom skins, the rest of the files just take way to much space. Were you looking for any particular skin file?

As for the SDK: Don't wait for it ...

However, there is a good message I have to tell you:
I'v been able to decode the 007 Format, and I've written a Decompressor and a Compressor for Nightfire's .007-Archives.

Neato, It took me several months to get the time to break down that assets file but I didn't have a way to make tools for download. Now we just need modeler and mapper tools and we be set :)


I have Oni but never tried skinning it. I liked the game but went through it and then uninstalled some time back. If I catch up on other games (yea right) then maybe I'll get back to it and try your Oni tools.

Right now I'm trying to edit the BloodRayne textures, I have the pod files extracted but the TEX files are giving me problems. So if you could whip up a TEX2(whatever) and a (whatever)2TEX I'd be grateful.

I just picked up Mafia for $13.50 at Target, hope I get time in this century to check it out. Of course I'm reserving sections of the future for Half-Life 2.

I zipped some up here NightFire Textures but you should be able by now to get the extractor. Check with the British Site for any updates to the extractor they were working on.
Glad to see someone's interested in doing some mod work :)

It's almost a 100 meg about 1200 files in the model/texture folder alone. I looked at the m16 site but could not find a reference to the extractor Andrew Lucas spoke of. Hopefully some user friendly tools will be available soon. I thought I saw someone reference an editor they made somewhere in this forum though.
How about some screenshots of your work so far?
