oh well,...*snif* I'm really fan of Hugh Jackman now. When I've saw first movie X-Men, and I bought all DVD of Jackman in "Kate&Leopold", "Somelike like you", "X-Men", "Password: Swordfish" and at cinema "X-Men 2". I see that Jackman is good for other movie without Bondian-Movie. But I saw that Jackman in Swordfish wear with suit and tie. It is perfectly looks!!!

What I have my suggestions in last posting? Aww, this picture look who like Brad Pitt Image :)

talking neither? I've think, the actor Adrien Brody (non-english man, his mother is hungrian-born.) But I've found this perfect picture of Adrien Brody:

He wear his silver clock, I remember that who look to like the Bondian! He was born on 14th April 1973 in New York, he is tall and his height's bigger than (180cm). I think, what did you thinking??

Adrien Brody isn't a suitable candidate for Bond. Eventhough he's one of my favorite actors working in Hollywood today, he's just does not have the looks to be convincing as a sexy secretagent. And after his Oscar win, I doubt he would sign on to a three picture deal.

I prefer Hugh Jackman, Dominic West & Gerard Butler.

Hugh Jackman...yes. Those other guys...too Dalton.

What exactly is too Dalton? If its what I think it is, then Jackman is also "too Dalton"

I voted for Christian Bale because when Brosnan does step down, Bale will be in his early to mid 30's which is the perfect age for him do several bond movies and not look like he is aging into senior citizenism like Moore did. But if i had to choose who would replace Brosnan right now, it would be Hugh Jackman. And by the way, I am a new memeber and i look forward to taking part in more topic ion the future.

i think the choice here is obviously hugh jackman, how can he turn down the prestigue that is the bond character, he said himself that he is in awe by the history of the role and he loves the series himself. i think it would some sort of a dream come true to play the part for him, if you ask me. seeing jackman in movies really reminds me of almost everyones favorite bond... sean connery, a gambling man who doesnt screw around and can and will kick your *** if neccesary. i really like jackman, when i watch him in movies... so for me, the choice is simple, Jackman for Bond #6 (he fights as well, as dare i say Lazenby... but acts a helluva lot better)

Jackman is the best possible choice from a lot of standpoints, not the least of which is the Dalton VS Brosnan facet. Dalton was a relative unknown following a much loved and accepted actor in the role - and the transition was a bit rocky (even I didn't like him as much when TLD came out). Brosnan was the guy most Bond fans were familiar with, and when he finally got the role he was already accepted because people saw him in that light even before he was "officially" James Bond.

Jackman has that kind of public acceptance now. Both Bond fans AND the general moviegoing public will accept him as Bond right away, and beyond that he is a fantastic Connery-esque actor. He would make a fantastic Bond.

But he's 38 or so, so Brosnan had better do the right thing and retire the "00" after Bond 21 or suddenly Jackman becomes too old to do it and then you run into the Timothy Dalton thing all over again. (Where it doesn't matter how good the new guy is, because if the public doesn't see him as Bond before the movie he faces a HUGE uphill battle.)

JACKMAN FOR BOND 22!!

Hey Pal, welcome to the club. I think Bale is a suitable choice, but he doesn't seem to be very interested in playing Bond for several Bond films. Here's a quote from Bale; "James Bond is every British actor's Holy Grail in many ways -- the most recognised British character on the big screen. I'd love to do (it) but I'd also worry about being typecast. James Bond in the new Millennium has so much potential - in the new movie xXx, the Bond character is skewered as being out of step for our times - Bond is in dire need of updating..." He added in a different interview: "Certainly if I was going to do it, it wouldn't be for a long time."

And B5Erik2, Jackman was born in 1968 (I guess he's only 32 right now), so even if Brosnan decides to make 'Bond 22', Jackman still would be young enough to replace him.

Thanks for the welcome to the site and thanks for that info on Bale. I never new that he has even talked about Bond. My personal opinion on him has now changed slightly. But you never know if he'd be succesful and only do 2 movies because he was't good to do several movies. If that is the case, then he would get his wish of only doing a few but it may also ruin his career which nobody wants to see. But as I said, Jackman is my favorite choice for near future replacement.

Sorry,i forgot to mention something. I say as long as Jackman can start as Bond before he is 40, then i say he would be the best replacement as of right now.

When are we going to let the world know that real Bond fans here at Commander Bond.Net think that Hugh Jackman should be the next James Bond? Look at the amount of attention the results of the polls of Radio Times & Amazon respectably got at sites like Dark Horizons and alike. This could be good publicity for this site and also a great opportunity to put the spotlight on an actor who is actually a great realisitic candidate for the part (unlike *ahum* Jude Law & Ralph Fiennes). What are we waiting for?

How is this:

Hugh Jackman - Fan's Favourite for Next James Bond

Hugh Jackman has been voted by the members of CommanderBond.Net as their favourite to be the next James Bond. The Australian actor of British decent won with more than twice as many votes as his nearest competition Clive Owen ("Gosford Park"). Curious enough, the option 'None of the Above' received more votes than Owen, who hence came in third place.

After recent comments from Pierce Brosnan which indicate that 'Bond 21' may turn out to be his last Bond film, fans have been throwing names around furiously who would be up for the task. 40 percent thought Jackman would make the perfect replacement after Brosnan steps down.

22% didn't see any potential in the current favorites and voted the 'None of the Above' option. Brit Clive Owen took 18% of the votes for the third position. Coming in fourth place, Hollywood bad boy Colin Farrell ("Phonebooth") with 10% of the votes and Welshman Christian Bale ("American Psycho") received 8% off the votes coming in fifth. Jude Law ("The Talented Mr. Ripley"), who received the most votes after a similar survey from 'Radio Times', only took 2% of the votes whereas the winner of Amazon's Next Bond poll, Ralph Fiennes ("The English Patient"), was absent from CBN's list.

Hugh Jackman, most famous perhaps for his role in X-Men as Wolverine, has confirmed recently he would be more than happy to play James Bond once Pierce Brosnan retires from the series. When asked about rumours he'd be the next Bond Jackman said, "What guy wouldn't want to be James Bond". It looks like the fans have picked an actor who is more than willing to don the tux.

Shame Butler was absent from the list. I think he's going to be a hot favorite for the part after 'Lara Croft: The Cradle of Life'. But I like Jackman a lot better.

Entertainment Tonight Online Interview. Click here for the video.

Watch the video. Butler comes across too goofy to play Bond. I think the Bond actor should be cool and suave and Butler doesn't seem to be one of those things. But perhaps with age he'll look, act and sound better as Bond. Jackman is still the best choice at the moment.

Well, I have to say I've ticked "none of the above" also. I'm with the Gerard Butler group. And yes I will hold my hand up to say that's partially due to sharing his accent. He looks the part, he can act the part and he's British. As well as all that, I can see the likes of Jackman, Farrell et al declaring themselves above Bond - they're big actors in their own right now (particularly Farrell). Although (with the exception of Connery and Lazenby) the Bond actors were all household names before taking on the part, they weren't exactly huge stars. Butler fits into that category in my opinion, in that he can secure some big blockbuster films, but would seize the opportunity of Bond. And, well, Clive Owen has since burned his bridge, hasn't he?

It would be nice to hear a Scottish-lilt to Bond again and having grown up in the town of perpetual face-scarring that is Paisley, I'm sure he can handle poncey megalomaniacs :)

I Think it's time we get a reset of the poll and drop Butler in the poll and remove the ideas of Colin Salmon and Robbie Williams.
And mabey we must remove Hugh Grant too.
I think a lot of people who vote now Owen choose than for Butler.

Hey Moonraker, have you watched the short interview clip with Gerard Butler I linked to earlier? I'm really curious whether or not you still prefer Butler over Jackman after watching it. Personally I don't feel Butler is cool enough to play Bond. But even if that clip didn't convince you, ponder this. In a recent interview Jackman commented on the Next Bond rumours; " haven't been approached, but it's pretty much every boy's dream, isn't it? I'd do an audition, for sure." Does this boy sound like he'll declare himself above Bond any day soon? Personally I don't think so. As for Farrell, he's too short and too blunt to play James Bond.

Can we please just hire him now and dump Pierce "I wanna take an extra year off "Brosnan now? Brosnan is too old for further films anyway. He said he would do only 4 and I wish he'd stick to his guns. I think Jackman will blow him away, providing he gets a decent script, something EON hasn't been able to produce for over a decade.
