I got it a few months ago.. and it is 100% fine.. so thats very cool because I wont have to buy it for full price when they rerelease them

AVTAK rocks.....I just got done re-watching it.
Thats cool that you picked up the DVD of AVTAK. What did you think of the scene in the Paris Police Station?

My favorite of the Roger Moore Bond's is Live and Let Die, which also happens to be my favorite James Bond film. I'm not sure why this is my favorite, maybe its because I think Jane Seymour is extremely sexy. For some weird reason I also prefer Roger Moore over Sean Connery as James Bond. One reason I think is because Moore is British and Connery isn't. My least favorite of his is A View To A Kill. I just thought, even though he was good, was too old for the part and also Tanya Roberts's acting in this movie is extremely awful.

I really like the Paris Police Station and I would have liked to have seen it remain in the movie. I thought the scene with the police officer returning Bonds gadgets was a lot alike George Lazenby going through his desk and Brosnan walking through the Q archives in DAD. It brought some nice references to past Bond movies and was like a special treat for 007 fans.
Some fans have complained that it was a little silly, but I say the firetruck chase was sillier and I wish they had kept it in the movie.
All in all a great scene.

Not to nitpick but both Roger Moore and Sean Connery are British. Moore was born in England and Connery was born in Scotland, both of which are part of Great Britain.

Yes, Roberts acting leaves a lot to be desired, but damn she is so sexy. As pointed out in another post she has incredible eyes.

Roger Moore IMO looked better in AVTAK than he had two years earlier in OP. This was also noted by a few critics at the time (1985), most notably by the respected author of "James Bond in the Cinema" John Brosnan who stated in his review of AVTAK (printed in "Starburst") that AVTAK was one of Moore's best.

I think the reason I like LALD is because it is very different! Bond is the the jungles! They have a Voodoo Vibe to it.. plus it is nice to see Bond in a "Blackpotation Film" sorta! I always felt that the sean 007 movies had the same type women.. which gets boring and sorta racist...

I think thats another reason I like Roger's Years.. because he slept with all types of women :) the whole rainbow :)

But LALD is a very different interesting movie! they boat stunts are great! Bond is in the ghetto as well which is cool

LALD is an interesting movie and I kinda liked the different feeling to it. I think it is somewhere in the middle as far as Rogers 007 movies. Its not quite as good as FYEO, AVTAK or TSWLM but it's much better than MR or TMWTGG.
I think it's also obvious from the outset that with Roger Moore we have a much better James Bond than Sean Connery.

I jump from TSWLM to FYEO to AVTAK depending on my mood. I love those three movies.

For me its a choice between TSWLM or one of the John Glen directed trio; FYEO, OP or AVTAK. I am still undecided.

For me OP was probably too tongue-in-cheek....I mean Roger even dressed as a clown in that one.

Why don't we start a topic.. of "Roger Questions you wish we can make into Polls"..

we all post our ideas...

then whatever the Staf thinks is the best.. and what we think would be interesting..

a Staffer makes Polls of only a Few :)

what do u think?

The first two-thirds of MR were great, but I didn't like the whole Jaws romance turning good thing. Also, it spoiled both TSWLM and MR when they had him speak at the end.

I 100% agree.. that is the only problem with the movie.. exactly what hit straight on the head

Jaws talking was very dumb..

I do like the very end when Roger shoots down the bombs going to earth

SO where are all those kids who wrote to Cubby begging for JAWS to be a good guy and not a bad guy. I recall this was brought up in the MR documentary.

It was neat hearing JAWS' real voice. He wasn't being menacing in the scene, he was witht he blond babe, so let's hear his voice.

Jaws as a good guy --- worst idea the Bond producers ever had. Well, apart from having him talk.

Imagine if they had JAWS speak in TSWLM? Or worse, have him steal XXX from Bond?
