Well there is a helicopter in every Bond movie, except for Dr No and The Man with the Golden Gun.

Could it just be for the current non-Bond film EON is producing?

Either it´s a way to keep the secrecy (after the "helicopter-leak") - or it´s the sad truth.
Probably the latter.

This is an exciting and bewildering (non-)development! Thank you to everyone for spotting and investigating it.
Naturally, the Express has picked up on it... http://www.express.c...on-Daniel-Craig

For once I would love the Express to be right...

Pigs might fly...

Has the "helicopter situation" been solved? Could not find anything else on the news about it.
Either it was a complete nothing - or EON has immediately shut down anything that could give away why that museum piece really was bought by them.

I'd say one of their aircraft is missing.

So much for german efficiency!

Ahh!! So it was Elliot Carver behind this news!! And I suspect that Mr. Gupta has been messing around with one of his satellites again?

They bought it, they own it. It's just that the transport has been delayed. This could be because there are difficulties with the transport itself or maybe storage problems. Of course, it's all possible that it is simply delayed until this minor media buzz has toned down.
The German Fan Club remains in contact, I'll keep you posted...
Edit: ...and faster than you think:
The helicopter has been picked up today. The Bond Bulletin has all the information, pictures and a video. With many thanks to Benjamin:

Another take-with-a-grain-of-salt bit of news. Daniel Craig is supposedly meeting with the head of Omega (possibly!) to discuss Bond's new watch in the next couple of weeks..I saw this story come up the other day on Twitter but now have found a link to it on The Australian.. make of it what you will. It might be just more of a publicity / marketing thing since Bond is well associated with Omega watches.
Here's a link to the Tweet: https://twitter.com/...461815431774209
EDIT: Huh..it looks like the link takes you to a pay-subscription-first article.. apologies everyone! I was able to access it the first time I clicked on the Twitter page but now can't.

Q and M die in that non-working helicopter then.

The whole thing is a mystery.
Why buy this museum piece if it doesn´t fly anymore? Was building a miniature really more expensive? Especially if it is supposed to be blown up. How many people watch a Bond film and actually recognize that model? Why was this old model so important that other helicopters were not chosen?
Okay, we know that setpieces are thought out most of the time before any script is finished. But why was the purchase of that helicopter now so important? Was it being scheduled to be bought by someone else? Was it good for tax purposes?
And what´s EON´s fascination with helicopters? Didn´t SKYFALL and SPECTRE had enough helicopter action?
Wow, this makes me really... paranoid.

Someone said this could be used in some sort of press event / announcement like the one Eon organized to present Craig in 2005.
Well, one can hope.

Does it feel like Bond is stuck in the same rut that it was between Quantum of Solace and Skyfall?

Given the lack of a studio deal, I reckon it's worse than that.Does it feel like Bond is stuck in the same rut that it was between Quantum of Solace and Skyfall?
