Now that DAD has been released in both the US and the UK, here is your chance to put the new movie in with the others!

1. Die Another Day: This film had it all. Every kind of Bond film was jammed right into this one. It pushed the 007 character and the 007 franchise to the absoulte limits, and it does it marveoulsly. DAD is the best James Bond movie ever. And if that was not enough, its size alone is untouchable!

2. GoldenEye: GoldenEye is the Bond film for a generation of fans. And Brosnan eaisly gives the best debut of any Bond actor. It has all the right 007 elements present here, and Brosnan lays the foundation for what he would perfect in his later movies.

3. The World is Not Enough: TWINE is a great, and passionate Ian Fleming thriller. It is a great spy story, but it does not have the Bond 'feel' mixed in with the spy story. Nevertheless, Brosnan gives his BEST peformance as 007 here. And while it is often underrated by non Brosnan fans, this will go down as a classic.

LARGE CHASM!

4. Tommorrow Never Dies: Oh dear, it may look like I hate this film, but I really dont. I quite enjoyed it, but when you have to be compared to the three films in front of them, thats asking alot. The plot is just to absurd, and the whole finale was terrible, just Bond going around shooting machine guns. Trying to follow GoldenEye was tough, but as Brosnan said in DAD: "Come on, put your back into it eh?"

Die Another Day
This movie was fantastic! They did marvellous things with Bond's character and those around him. The girls weren't just there to brighten up the place. And at least Bond and Jinx did it at the start so there was no pretence. The villain had more than 1 dimension for the first time in ages. This Bond film was a hit!

The World Is Not Enough
I loved this one when it came out but I realised how weak it was as I watched it more. It's still more watchable than GE and TND. The whole thing seemed to slow down after the spectacular pre-title sequence and Renard seemed very lame as a villain. I think the Oscar for this one goes to Sophie Marceau, she was a warped villainess.

GoldenEye
This film is nothing special in my opinion but it holds up quite well. It seems tame in comparison to Brosnan's later outings but he did well on his debut and it certainly a lot better than some other Bond films.

Tommorow Never Dies
Is the adjective nonsense too strong for describing this one? Carver has to be one of the weakest villians ever with one of the most lurid plans ever. I believe it was an overreaction to GE which seemed rather pedestrian at times. Stamper was nonsense. Wai Lin was one of the greatest Bond girls ever in this one.

Die Another Day- Perfect! Flawless for a Bond film. It had everything and will shine for years to come.

Goldeneye- My first Bond in theatres stunned me with it's terrific storyline and some good acting from Brosnan and Bean. Even though there was no car chase, the tank made up for it. This one is a winner all the way for me.

Tomorrow Never Dies- i get a certain feel for different films. They are usually described by colors and objects. This Bond had a Red Chinese Techno feel that I just love. The Carpark/Backseat Driver was awesome. i was stunned when I saw this on the big screen. And David Arnold's "Surrender" was one of the best Bond songs to date for me. I didn't think that Carver's plan was absurd. To destroy Beijing for broadcast rights just shows how insane Carver really was. The ending was just a shoot-em-up funfest, but I liked it. Overall, one of my top 5.

The World Is Not Enough- I really like this one, but it's at the bottom of my list for some akward scripting- namly the action sequences. After the boat chase, everything seems thrown in. And Denise Richards is the new Tanya Roberts for a new generation. She just wasn't believable as a nuclear scientist. The plot was intriguing, Sophie Marceau perfectly played the doomed Elektra King, and we also saw the return of Zukovsky. Good film even with repeated viewings.

And since it hasn't come out yet I won't list it-

Bond 21- (Spoiler free) The Best Bond to date! Yes, I do have a time machine and have gone to the future to see this amazing film. Brosnan continues to show that he really is James Bond with his new car,:). The Bond girls, played by :) and :) stay with Bond as he tries to stop :) from taking over the world with his :) plot. This one looks like a winner!

Die Another Day - A Bond film that has everything and then some, but almost too much. DAD has som much going on in it it's a little overwhelming. Yet I still love everything about the film, in all honesty. More dialog and less action would have been nice. Brosnan is incredible, Berry easily his best female counterpart, and the villians are great. The best thing about DAD though was that it regained something lost in all the other Brosnan Bonds: a genuine sense of excitement and joy.

Goldeneye - Just Behind DAD, this is a terrific film, with great action and it's very well written. But it's way to polliticly correct and less fun for it. Natalya is an interesting but unsexy Bond Woman, and it isn't as joyful as a Bond film should be. Trevelyan was just OK, and his scheme was far from anything inspired. But the other villians, Boris and especially Xenia Onnatop, are a both delightful foes.

Tomorrow Never Dies - Pure kinetic energy and alot of fun. I love the villians and characters in general. The action is high-powered, the jokes are fun, and Brosnan is wonderful. Yeoh is a fab female foil, and Price a deliciouly hammy villian. Still, the film skips on plot, and there's too much action. DAD has considerably more to offer though, and Goldeneye was better written, which is worth alot more and why it tops TND.

The World is not Enough - Tops TLD as the worst the series ever dished out, because it's something Bond should never be: boring. The characters are dull, the narrative uneven, and never once does it feel grand, exotic, fun, or anyhting usually asscociated with a Bond flic. The action is sloppy and pointless (the Cavier Factory sequence is just stupid), and Christmas Jones is an awful character. A few bright moments of scripting and Sophie Marceau as Elektra (the ultimate Bond Feme Fatale) are its only saving graces.

Die Another Day: Beautiful. It's just perfect. A TSWLM in my own time. Moneypenny is finally once again decidingly lusting after Bond.

GoldenEye: Great film and definately in my top 10, but the score was horrible and it was a little too dark at times. Moneypenny takes on a disinterested and almost bitchy attitude that she'd keep until Die Another Day. Natalya is gorgeous, Xenia is sexy and lethal, but the car was underused and it built up to a less than spectacular ending.

Tomorrow Never Dies: At first I loved it, then I disliked it for a while, but now I love it again. I like all the action but the script was a bit off. The cast was great, with the glaring exception of Teri Hatcher.

The World Is Not Enough: A fun film with some exciting moments but it lacks the polish of the others. The cinematography looks at times like that of a TV movie and the film feels very restrained. Denise Richards was just horrible and the ending was completely boring. Still, a fun film and it doesn't rank in my lower five.

1) Goldeneye: A true Bondian classic, and the use of 006 as the film's villain was a terrific twist. From the incredible opening teaser to the intense final bout between the two former friends, Goldeneye entertains the entire way. The scene between 007 and 006 in the statue park is truly a series highlight.

2) Die Another Day: Terrific, a throwback to the more extravagent Roger Moore era, but we were due for it. A terrific first hour, with a great chase on the hovercrafts, and a great Bond girl in Rosemund Pike. I for one loved the ending on board the plane... a nice throwback to "Goldfinger," and more intense than TWINE's weak submarine climax.

3) Tomorrow Never Dies: Much less fun than GE or DAD, this one nevertheless has a good opening sequence, one of the series best title songs by Sheryl Crow, and a nifty carchase. The villain just wasn't very interesting, and the plot was a standard Bond deal, with no real surprises. There are a few fun action sequences though, such as the one with the motorbike.

4) The World Is Not Enough: I really don't care for this one. The pacing is extremely slow, the villains are among the series' worst, and the storyline is just barely above average. Like DAD, this one suffers from action overkill, but in this film the action just isn't very entertaining, so it hurts the film more. In DAD's case, the action was for the most part stylish and engaging.

So there we go.

Its interesting to think that a film like TWINE which is such a passionate adventure, and shows Brosnan at his own best, is so hated...

Its almost shamefull

DAD- Come on! Do I even have to explain this one :)

TND- I've since grown to love this one, it never loses sight of one thing: Being a fun ride.

TWINE- A great down to Earth Bond film, a bit too down to Earth at times, but still great.

GE- Great film, but I feel the other three Brosnan films are better.

1. The World Is Not Enough
This is one of my favorite films; I think the locations were filmed beautifully (I also like the lesser considered locations, Kazakhstan & Turkey), Elektra was one of the best Bond women ever, Christmas wears those hotpants to defuse nuclear bombs, Bond definitely showed some more meanness here. And I really enjoy when twists are thrown into these movies, it personalizes them a bit more. My only complaint is the action scenes that happen for no reason--namely the ski chase & caviar factory.

2. Goldeneye
The Cold War theme was excellent. Xenia is great as well, and Natalya is a smart Bond girl, but not "Bond's equal," which is good, b/c we don't need "Bond's equal" in every flippin' film (geez Halle Berry's annoying). And who could forget the opening stunt? Another good twist. Yeah Bond uses a lot of machine guns, but you have to sacrifice some elements to compete with today's market.

3. Die Another Day
A lot of fine performances, but problems within the characters. Jinx sucks, Miranda is awesome, but neither are developed. Great locations (namely Havana & Iceland), cool-looking henchman, good song. This movie just has a ton of logic errors & irresponsibly filmed action, it's hard to rank it above GE or TWINE.

4. Tomorrow Never Dies
Like everyone says, too too too much action. Thankfully Wai Lin is there to reduce some of the monotony. I love the banner jump and the fight in the newspaper factory. A past relationship with Paris is good too, because it gives Bond some personality in an otherwise standard 90s action film.

Here I go:

Die Another Day: We get Bond reborn in this movie. He goes from the Tomb, to the womb, to the birth, through teenage rebellion, into manhood again. Very nicely done. We have the action, the drama, and the one liners. Who can ask for anything more.

The World Is Not Enough: Excellent adventure, with the emotions coming in later as Bond's relationship with Elektra builds and then disintergrates. Frankly, I think his love scene with Elektra is hotter than the one with Jinx, but then again, Bond had something to prove with Jinx.

Goldeneye: This is where Brosnan proved that he could let Bond show emotion (as he does when he first sees Alec) while still keeping control. The one liners are great, and the casino scene is a classic, as is his later "love scene" with Xenia.

Tomorrow Never Dies: The pretitles are fine, it's the sinking of the ship that never ends that causes the problems for me. Ditto for what would have been on of the all time great love scenes had Teri Hatcher bothered to act in that scene. Once Bond is with Wai Lin, things improve dramatically, but really that first half needs to be a lot shorter.

GOLDENEYE
A gripping, supercharged comeback for 007, with Brosnan showing us why he was perfectly cast from the start of the pre-credits sequence, the most stunning introduction to a new Bond ever. Brosnan's performance is (unsurprisingly) slightly hesistant in places, but when he's good he's so good that the lesser moments don't matter, and he (along with various stuntpeople) gives us the most athletic Bond since Lazenby.
Standout Brosnan moment: "No more foreplay."

2. DIE ANOTHER DAY
Picks up in its look and feel where GOLDENEYE left off. Flawed, to be sure, but made with more than enough flair to be satisfying escapist entertainment. Brosnan's finest turn as Bond carries the film, and it's a shame that, long before it ends, the character is buried (as is the plot) by too much slam-bam action and the sort of CGI that sticks out like a sore thumb.
Standout Brosnan moment: enlisting the help of Cuban sleeper Raoul. Brosnan's Bond has never seemed cooler nor more dangerous.

3. TOMORROW NEVER DIES
With a silly script and one of the weakest villains (and second Bond girls) in the franchise's history, TND is a thin affair, but it's definitely a feast of superior action scenes. Brosnan is one-note here, apparently required to play 007 as a more or less monosyllabic assassin in the Rambo or Terminator mould, whose finger is almost never off the trigger. He's good, but never given the opportunity to demonstrate much range (and there are no traces whatsoever of Bond's class, intelligence or connoisseurship).
Standout Brosnan moment: totally trashing the "terrorist supermarket".

ENORMOUS CHASM!

4. THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH
Monumentally dull, witless film that moves at snail's pace and is by turns juvenile, distasteful and pretentious. Michael Apted proves about as good a choice for the series as Richard Attenborough would have been, while Brosnan rises to the challenge with a halfhearted, charisma-free performance. Possibly the worst Bond outing of all time.
Standout Brosnan moment: slaying Elektra.

Give it a couple months...Anybody remember when The World Is Not Enough opened in '99 and almost everyone was like "Oh my god, this is Bond returning to his roots! Fascinating! Awesome!" Now it's hated by atleast 50% of Bond fans. I have a strong feeling that Die Another Day will move down on that list, as well, once it sinks in and loses its fresh appeal.

Yeah, your right Adam, there is alot of hype that surrounds DAD. And it is very sad about what happened with TWINE, (check my posts, TWINE still has a huge fan in me!) but DAD will be different. It will be in the sense that it was a monumental film, the 20th movie in the 40th year. That fact is going to stick out in peoples minds.

Nevertheless, the Brosnan fans will always have a great fondness for TWINE.

ill be brief cus im going to see DAD in half an hour

1. goldeneye - brilliant opening sequence and statue park scenes cool.
also a brilliant computer game...
2. TND - one of my fave action scores and the intro rocks. Towards the end it feels rushed but so do most bond films.

TWINE - i hate this. boring . brosnan does superb acting but the story itself leaves a lot to be desired of.
I think bond needed better action sequences and less " investigation "

what did we get ? a light house a sub and a caviar factory... oh how thrilling..

1. GoldenEye
This is the first Bond movie I ever saw, I was 10, and was already playing the game for N64. The use of a character called "006" was a great idea, its filled w/ vengefull plot twists and lots of action, my favorite Bond of all time.

2. Die Another Day
This was a really good movie with lots and lots of action. Definitly one of the best car chases in any Bond film. Some humor on the part of Bond and Q was nice too. The only down side to this movie is some bad CGI and Halle Berry does'nt work with this franchise.

3. Tomorrow Never Dies
This one is okay, not as good as GoldenEye was before it, but not as bad as the one that would follow.

4. The Word is Not Enough
I dont really care for this movie much. Its main problem was that it was BORING, the villans were bland and boring, the plot was boring, just bad.

1. GoldenEye
Best cast, best scripting, best characters. The only thing this film skips out on is action, but that's not really important. The one minus is Brosnan's not fully growing into the role, but he does a decent job. Beats the first attempts by all the previous actors except Connery.

2. Tomorrow Never Dies
Awesome set-pieces, great feel, Michelle Yeoh as Wai Lin, and the score by D.A. It all comes together in this one for a fun, laid-back Bond film that has been rare since Roger Moore's Octopussy. Plot isn't as good as the other three entries, but it's weaknesses are forgotten as soon as you get roaring into the action.

3. Die Another Day
A good Bond film. Best opening sequence of the Brosnan's, followed up by an awesome first half. Action is amazing, but some of it goes too far. Other weaknesses are the poor minor characters (Vlad is such a ripoff of Boris), editing, character development, weak finale, and some terrible innuendo. Other than that, a pretty solid Bond film.

4. The World Is Not Enough
Don't get me wrong. I don't hate this film. All in all, it's okay. It's got a serious tone that is good. Sophie Marceau is wonderful. The only things that let this film down are the action sequences and pacing, along with the miserable (but tolerable) Denise Richards.

Well, now I've finally seen DAD, I can have my say:

1.Die Another Day: This film is AMAZING. Classic Bond, at its best. Yes, we did have all these tacky looking CGI shots, but this film had practically everything a good Bond film should have. I laughed when Bond slept with Jinx about 5 minutes after, and when Peaceful turned up, I actually found it hard to watch at the state in which he looked after he torture, and how M discarded him. It has the same qualities as LTK, apart from the unecessary swearing (well, there is Jinx's 'bitch' in there). But this film definatly lives up to expectations.

2.Goldeneye: One of my favourites, this just comes in second, as it is just as good as DAD. Brilliant action shots, amazing storyline, some of the best girls and gadgets, a brilliant example after that 6 year gap.

3.The World Is Not Enough: Goes the same with DAD and GE, an excellent film, with Bond slightly falling in love, only finding he has to kill Elektra. This shows how vulnerability in Bond and MI6 throughout.

4. Tomorrow Never Dies: Hey, just because I rate this Pierce's lowest Bond, it doesn't mean its a rubbish film. The first film without Cubby Brocolli, and they didn't do a bad job. Its a classic film, with your truely as the brilliant villian, and it included our sexy doctor from Oxford too:p

1) Die Another Day- Brosnan delivers a great role in this film, with the help of spectacular villain and girls. This gets Bond back to the classic times, yet still has the taste of a modern Bond movie. It's locations are quite interesting, and are used very well. The sword fight in London is quite good, and one of my favourite parts in the film.

2) GoldenEye- Usually the actor's first Bond movie is lacking, but Brosnan hit the nail head on here. The locations were beautiful, and the girls were gorgeous. This film made the perfect bridge between the "classic" Bonds, and the "modern" Bonds. The villain is one of the best in the series, if not the best.

3) The World is Not Enough- This movie is still awesome, ever since I first saw it. Though Denise Richards was beautiful, her character was horrible. Elektra King was a great villain, one of the better ones. A great movie, but didn't feel quite like a real Bond film.

4) Tomorrow Never Dies- Even though tis is placed last, it is still an awesome movie. The lead villain was lacking, and his plot was rather poor. The movie as a whole was great, but such a poor plot, was what brought down the movie at little bit. Locations and girls are as usual, great!

1.) GoldenEye. The first Bond movie I ever saw in the theater, so it will always have a place near and dear to my heart. Brosnan wasn't quite settled into the role yet, but he quickly made it his own. A great plot and a great villain made this film what it is. Trevelyan's past with 007 made for an interesting twist on the traditional Bond-vs.-villain scheme, and the film established Brosnan's Bond as one for the post-Cold War era. Put in the great tank chase, one of the very best Bond girls in Natalya Simonova, and the excellent (if slightly over-the-top) Xenia Onatopp, and you have one of my favorite Bond movies. 9/10.

2.) Die Another Day. The old coupled with the new. The first half was very old-school Connery Bond, and the second was very 21st-century techno-Bond (as established in TND). My biggest beef with this is that the contrast between the two seemed too large...the pacing seemed a bit uneven, going from a more subdued spy story to a huge, slam-bang, VERY over-the-top climax. Graves was suitably malicious, Jinx was servicable, and all the other elements were there along with one of the neatest ideas for a plot in any Bond movie (even if it is a little "out there"). I think what made this movie was some of the most memorable elements I've seen in a Bond film: Bond's swordfight with Graves, the Q scene in the Underground (complete with old props), the Ice Ballet, and the Moneypenny scene at the end. This one was sheer, unadulterated fun in the Moore-era mold with a dash of everything else thrown in, and it made it enjoyable, if a little incredible. Still, I've only seen it once thus far, so its position on the list is subject to change. 8/10.

3.) Tomorrow Never Dies. Might be higher if it wasn't for the fact that this movie is basically a remake of TSWLM with China/Wai Lin substituted for Russia/Anya Amasova, Carver for Stromberg, a stealth ship for the Liparus, and television ratings for an underwater empire. I didn't find Wai Lin to be a particularly sexy Bond girl (though she certainly did kick ***), and like DAD, the film is hampered by a little too much action. I did think the action is paced a little better than DAD, and it does have one of my all-time favorite car chases in the "backseat driver" sequence through the parking garage. 7.5/10.

4.) The World is Not Enough. Would be higher, perhaps even #1 on this list, if it weren't for two crucial elements: Christmas Jones and Renard. Denise Richards can't act to save her life, and Renard was an uninteresting character who should not have been treated as a main villain. Elektra was definitely the primary villain, and was much more threatening to Bond because of her subdued rage and her use of sex as a weapon. I loved her death, and I only wish that the horribly drawn-out ending with Renard on the submarine had been drastically shortened, because it's not very exciting. TWINE, though, does have one of the best, most down-to-earth plots of recent Bond films, and that is really hampered only by the insertion of seemingly random action, such as the attack on the caviar factory. It was a cool scene, but was it really necessary? Still, though, that doesn't inhibit my enjoyment of this film...while I may not love this one, I like them all. 7/10.
