I have seen the starred reviews by the press, but I am curious for those who have seen it where do you rank it?

1) Among the top 5 Bond movies

2) 6-10

3) 11-15

4) 16-20

5) 21-24

Of the Craig Movies, is it better or worse than: Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall?

For me it's #5 out of the now 24 films and personally I think Craig's best 007 film, edging 'Casino Royale' only because this feels like his first genuine James Bond film which is nothing but entertaining.

I had it at 6th, but only third of the Craig films - which shows the strength of his era.

I put it 7th over all and 3rd of the Craig films.

Much better than QoS, not as good as CR and SF.

Just saw Spectre in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia this evening (Thursday, Nov. 5) and enjoyed it. It can't top either Casino Royale or Skyfall, IMO, but it's still quite good. In the Daniel Craig era, I would rank it third among his four films:

Casino Royale (will always remain my sentimental favorite)

Skyfall

Spectre

Quantum of Solace (which I think is better than is generally acknowledged)

Overall, I would rank it among my top 10 Bond films, probably about seventh:

Casino Royale

Skyfall

Doctor No

Goldfinger

From Russia with Love

Thunderball

Spectre

The Living Daylights

For Your Eyes Only

Quantum of Solace

Not sure overall but out of the Craig Bond films I'd go with this order;

1 Casino Royale
2 Skyfall
3 SPECTRE
4 Quantum of Solace

Which to judge by this thread so far is what one or two more have put.

Overall among 6-10 (I think 6th right now, one day after my first viewing). And among the Craig era, better (I wouldn't use the word "worse" for this era) than SF, and hence, much better than QOS. But not as good as my top one from the whole EON's series: CR.

I daresay that it's on par with Skyfall and Casino Royale. Not better, but on par with.

Damn good film. Top five material for sure.

My wife and I were INCREDIBLY dissapointed by this film.  We weren't expecting Skyfall or Casino Royale, but we weren't expecting a return to the classic formula either.  I don't think that's what people want from DC.  The theater I was in (during a limited release on Nov. 5), there were lots of people laughing and giggling throughout and NO ONE stuck around for the end credits.  As people were leaving they were making jokes and mocking it.

Having said that, and trying to be as objective as possible...where would I place it all time?

Well...the only Connery movie that its better than is Diamonds.  It's not as good as OHMSS.  Of the Sir Roger era, its not as good as Spy or FYEO.  I think both Dalton movies are better.

Goldeneye is better.

SPECTRE is on par with things like Tomorrow Never Dies, Live and Let Die, Octopussy.

There are worse movies than Spectre.  Quantum was much worse.

That's my take.

Well after watching it I'd say I was pleasantly entertained during the entire movie, and never got boring at all.

I can say it's in my top 10 for sure, and it's my second favorite from Craig after Casino Royale.

The Living Daylights

Goldeneye

Thunderball

From Russia With Love

Casino Royale

Spectre

SkyFall

For Your Eyes Only

The Spy Who Loved Me

On Her Majesty's Secret Service

Unfortunately I have to agree with Dr.Nono... walked out (also with my wife) mildly disappointed. I would initially rank it closer to QOS level and well below CR and SF.

Overall I think the story wasn't that compelling and to compensate they threw in a bunch of out of the blue story elements that didn't completely work.

Still a fun movie just not the classic I was hoping for.

I found SPECTRE to be a very good and entertaining film. It's in the top 10 for me and my second favorite of the Daniel Craig era behind Casino Royale.

1. Licence To Kill

2. Octopussy

3. For Your Eyes Only

4. GoldenEye

5. The Living Daylights

6. Tomorrow Never Dies

7. Casino Royale

8. The Spy Who Loved Me

9. SPECTRE

10. Goldfinger

Each Bond actor has a better film than this, and I'd say 3rd or 4th among Craig films.  Better than LALD/DAF but not as enjoyable to watch maybe.  Suffers from the fourth entry syndrome of big bloat (TB/MR/DAD.)  Was really surprised by the Roger Moore-ish touches in SPECTRE.  Got me thinking that each of Craig's entries is an homage to another Bond actor (CR-Craig's OHMSS, QoS-Dalton revenge flick, SF-remake of Brosnan's GE/TWINE, SP--Roger Moore finally faces SPECTRE.)

I couldn't help but think Craig felt about Spectre the same way Connery went through Thunderball, starting to rethink his career options. I can think of three Moore's that are better, at least that many Connery's, Lazenby's one, half of Brosnan's, and probably both of Dalton's.  So neither top ten nor bottom ten.

I still think Craig will give us two more--the one contracted and the cash grab they'll offer him for a sixth.

Have to agree with NoNo & Achtung: my wife & I were both disappointed.  Entertaining enough, never boring, but I have it 3rd out of the Craig films (a bit above QOS, well below CR & SF), and about 15th overall.

As to why, rather than retype, I have more comprehensive thoughts in the reviews thread:

I'm on record elsewhere as being disappointed with it - 4th of DC's, and bottom 5 in the whole series for me.

Having only just seen it (and in Spanish no less), I need more time to process it. That said, here is where I knee-jerkingly rank it:

1. The Spy Who Loved Me (still my favorite)

2. Casino Royale (always will be the bar for the Craig era, IMO)

3. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (my favorite novel and one of the series' best, shame we never got a proper follow-up)

4. Skyfall (a near perfect Bond film)

5. From Russia With Love (the perfect Cold War Bond story)

6. Dr. No (the one that started it all and still one of the best)

7. Thunderball (Silly and over-the-top, but more watchable than most, despite that abysmal underwater cinematography)

8. Goldfinger (The one that launched Bond into the stratosphere, though not as watchable as some of the others IMO)

9. The Living Daylights (a very underrated entry, though it loses it's way in Afghanistan)

10. Goldeneye (the one that brought Bond back from the dead with one of the series' best villains)

11. Spectre (Classic Bond with great characters, set pieces and villains, though is overly long and the Morocco segment doesn't fully work for me)

Oh dear.  Am I about to be disappointed again with a Daniel Craig Bond movie?  "SKYFALL" was such a travesty for me.  Does this mean "SPECTRE" will be another one?  Perhaps Sam Mendes should not direct any more Bond movies.

Absolutely agree. I originally listed it at number 14, but it's probably going to end up lower on the list.

It would rank around 6-10.

Personally, "SPECTRE" was sooooo much better than "SKYFALL".  So much better.  I thought it was also better than "QUANTUM OF SOLACE".  However, in regard to the Craig movies, "CASINO ROYALE" is still the best.
