There's lots of colour, noise and activity with this opening sequence location. Should be a good start to the movie.

The scale of the operation needed to capture the atmosphere and parade scenes is truly impressive, and that's before we even get on to the actual action shots involved. The attention to detail is terrific.

I agree. I always appreciate it when they take the time and effort to do things 'for real'. It does make a difference in my mind.

Absolutely fascinating to learn a bit about the logistics behind these scenes. I especially like those time lapses from the costume and makeup department. Alas, I fear that this is the last Hurrah for the great mass scenes (not only in Bond movies but in general). As they say, stuff like this is now usually done with heavy use of CGI. I realy like the spirit and film making enthusiasm behind SPECTRE. Were other productions rely on tons of CGI, our gang is trying to shoot as much as possible for real. There'll be lots of CGI in the final movie, no doubt, but it'll be less in those places where one expects them, but in the finer details.
I couldn't agree more.
On the topic of effects, I notice that Industrial Light and Magic are working on Spectre, is that a Bond first? I think it might be.

Excellent videoblog! I'm more amped up than ever for this gorgeous sequence! I'm fully expecting and hoping that Thomas Newman's score for this sequence will have lots of Mexican flavor infused with classic Bond elements.. Can't wait!

Where is the music at the start from? Very cool blog.
I thought it might be "Bolivian Taxi Ride" from the QUANTUM OF SOLACE soundtrack, but could be wrong.

It definetly sounded like Bolivian Taxi Ride to me...(so presumably it won't really be the best indication of what the Mexican opening's music will sound like.)

A few weeks ago, someone posted a schedule of the video blogs, indicating that a new entry would be posted on the 15th of each month and giving the general subject of each. Can't seem to find it now. Can anyone direct me?

At this rate, stunts should be same time next month, and music a month after.
Theme song thing never panned out, ugh. Anyway - new videoblog on the Bond girls & new stills going up 8am BST tomorrow:
http://www.filmandtv...cci-sam-mendes/At 8:00 UK time tomorrow, Thursday, August 13, the latest vlog from the set of SPECTRE will be released on http://www.007.com. Featuring Léa Seydoux and Monica Bellucci, as well as director Sam Mendes, the footage gives viewers a glimpse of the roles the actresses play in SPECTRE.
Sam Mendes said, “In SPECTRE, the two women who Bond hooks up with, both have great mystery, they both have depths and for that you need fantastic actresses.”
Regarding her character, Léa Seydoux shared some interesting information about her role: “She’s a doctor, she’s intelligent and very sensitive…”
It seems Seydoux’s role is wrote the opposite of that played by Monica Bellucci who gave a clue about her character: “She’s an Italian widow with secrets.”
Alongside the release of the new vlog, new exclusive images from SPECTRE will also be released.

I'm looking forward to it, though it would have been a nice touch for them to have released something today, in brief tribute to the fellow who started it all.

Ooh nice.
Monica Bellucci IS a superb looking woman for her age.
Both girls...ladies....look to be a class act and I can't wait to see them on screen in the Bond universe.

Natalya was annoyed about Bond being around during their initial scenes in Goldeneye. But he won her over once she learned to trust him. Something similar could happen here too, perhaps.

And it's clear from the recent trailer that she's heard of SPECTRE. How much does she know about it, or Quantum?
Possibly a very interesting Bond woman in prospect.

The rather obvious "Tracy-isms" with her character make me excited as well (I love Tracy). Plus she's a really good actress, and her in that silver dress, WOW just wow! And yes, "Mr. White" gives off one of the most obvious "this is an alias" vibes imaginable.
And as I've said before, Monica ages like fine wine.
