Early days I think for details, but Sir Roger Moore has just tweeted:

"Busy learning my lines for filming tomorrow #ComicRelief Can't say too much but its going to be great Bond fun"

I'll keep an eye out and post more as and when details emerge!

For those not in the know, Comic Relief, or Red Nose Day, is a UK charity event that brings together a whole host of stars and entertainment all to raise money for a good cause with a huge TV broadcast on March 13th:

Very interesting. It's definitely something Bond related, as well.

Hmm, I read that and immediately what came to my mind was a spoof (what else) with Roger Moore as Blofeld... He could camp that up well, I'm sure.

Daniel Craig appeared in a sketch for Comic Relief with Catherine Tate a few years ago (c2006/7)

Guys...

Daniel Craig has been confirmed for a one off sketch as well. Multi James Bond story? With Roger and Daniel? Is this really happening? Wow...

Beat me to it DC - just noticed this in the paper today and was VERY excited.

Moore. Craig. Comic Relief.

(And unrelated, but a new skit from Rowan Atkinson's Mr Bean?!)

WIN.

:D

Sir Roger Moore tweeted 4hrs ago:

I'll tell you a secret...Daniel Craig is not the only 007 in the Comic Relief sketch. #Backasbond

Isn't Sir Roger THE greatest ambassador for the franchise? In his 80s and still putting in so much passion for the character. I love it.

Little glimpse of the sketch here. It seems Roger is being kept underwraps and it's some kind of Spectre mockumentary?

I'm guessing that they mock his recent injuries on set, with Ol' Rog standing in last minute (as per his tweet a couple of weeks back)

Funny how such a short clip of what's in store can get you excited. Nice to see Whishaw involved also! Should be good fun!

Yes, I can see that being the premise too. Can't wait to see it.

Did not see this! WOW!

Who do we think might get involved? Brosnan would be great. Think he'd do it?

...erm... Craig and Moore are confirmed, and Moore tweets "Craig is not the only 007 in the sketch" with hashtag #Backasbond.

What on earth makes you think the other 007 in the sketch could be Brosnan?

I don't think Brosnan could be involved in this, he's over in the States now, and with the recent fire, I reckon he's got enough on his plate. But, I mean, never say never.

Connery? Never, and I MEAN never. Lazenby? He's off the grid. Dalton? I'd say he would be the best option if they were going to get another 007 actor just to go with Moore and Craig, as he's based in the UK I believe still and is still doing great guns in the public eye.

I actually wish Dalton was involved now.

Merely just down to personal preference. Wouldn't mind seeing Brosnan donning the tux again, even if it where for a sketch. Also, maybe i'm just misreading the quote and Moore is merely teasing himself.

I read into it that, much like the jest made in 1995 with Brosnan on 'GoldenEye' about "they want me back!", Moore is hinting he is being called back in by EON to take up the role of 007 again, or simply clashing with Craig about who is the best?

I'm sure it'll be just Moore and Craig.

When would have this been filmed?

Moore was filming on Feb 11th - not sure if Craig was in the UK at that time, or if this will be segments spliced together, a'la in a documentary style as the clip above teased.

It was the Ian Fleming Centenary thing at the Palladium (2008?); loads of fun, a really hugely starry guest list and really varied. My favourite bit was when a video message from Paul McCartney was played and as a 'live long and prosper'-style sign off he wished everyone in the audience a cheery 'live and let die!' :D

I also really liked waiting outside before it started and a group of tourists asked what all the crowds were for and I told it them it was a James Bond night; they asked if James Bond was coming and just then Roger Moore turned up in full dinner suit- a nice little treat if you come to London for a holiday and accidentally catch a glimpse of 007! :)

IF Moore and Craig appear together in a sketch, apart from premieres and award shows (remember the 1988 Oscars with Connery and Moore), won't this be the first time 2 Bond actors have appeared together on film?

I guess you're probably right. Bit weird really, you'd think the odds are that a couple of them would have turned up in the same film at some point.

From the Radio Times:

James Bond

Comic Relief goes behind the scenes during the filming of SPECTRE, the latest installment in the James Bond franchise. Daniel Craig's 007 is slick, the cars are fast and the stunts are death-defying, but not all is as it seems (or sounds) as the documentary inevitably takes a comic turn.
