Will Blofeld's white Angora cat be making an appearance, or will EON be faithful to Fleming?
What would you rather have?

A bit torn on this. I absolutely don't want Waltz's interpretation to be based on his predecessors in the films, but the cat is an essential part of what 99% of moviegoers would associate with Blofeld. I think one fleeting glimpse of the cat as a nod to what's gone before, but then no more. Maybe even have the cat wander past the camera in his headquarters, with no reference made to it.

Austin Powers may have destroyed our chances of a cat.
Well if they didn't destroy the chances of seeing Blofeld....

His whole lair should be like a crazy cat lady lives there. Lots and lots of cats and cat memorabilia. Blofeld should be wearing a cat t shirt.

I'd do it this way:
For most of the film, we see Blofeld as a faceless man stroking a cat with his voice electronically disguised--somewhat like his iconic portrayal in the Connery films--until the third-act reveal of his "shocking" identity.

I honestly think they could get away with the cat. It's more of the bald head and scar because of the obvious visual connection to Dr Evil. However, I still wouldn't complain if Bond somehow permanently scars Blofeld at the end of Spectre leaving Waltz with a nice big cut down the side of his face.

I think we are going to get the cat ala a subtle CR-style reference.
I also think DamnCoffee's idea of Bond scarring Blofeld at the end is quite good.

You mean when it's shown that Monica Bellucci is actually Blofeld? That would be a pleasant shock.

Cat or no cat, let's just have something other than the Mao jacket; those days are definitely over.

Most posts agree no cat and we are afraid of a Austin Powers comparison.
SPOILER AHEAD!
Having Monica Bellucci revealed to be Blofield would be too similar to Irene Adler being revealed as Moriarty in ELEMENTARY

Pro-cat, but shake it up with a BLACK one! Best of both worlds - Blofeld still has a cat and it can't be compared to Mr. Bigglesworth!

I think a quick glimple of a white persian roaming around Blofeld's lair/study/office would be cool. I sure as hell don't want to see him/her petting the cat all the time. Savalas' Blofeld was seen with the cat only twice, if I am not mistaken. The cat should be used for the big reveal, its first appearance certainly is the "money shot" of the film.
No to Mao suit - I think the only reason why Blofeld wore it in the 60's because he was bankrolled by the Red China in YOLT, In FRWL and TB he wore a black suit.

I wouldn't say that's true...
Maybe a mod could add a poll?

I think that once you get rid of the bald head and the nehru suit the Dr Evil reference will be lost.
The white Angora cat on the other hand is irresistible. It's a bit of fabulous iconography that belongs to the Bond films and should be reclaimed.

What if the reveal is done by the cat? Most of the film we see Blofeld´s hands and the cat and then, in the end, the same white cat jumps unto the masters lap.
So, pro-cat here.

How about this - Waltz character really is Franz Oberhauser, throughout the film we see him sitting at the top of the table in a conference room with members of SPECTRE - at the end of the film Bond breaks into the room to see the room empty, apart from the cat walking on the table towards him. The cat looks up at him and says "I've been expecting you, Mr. Bond. My name is Blofeld" - role credits!

If Blofeld is a she, then definitely a black cat.
Black cats are cool.
