She might be a bit too old to play a Bond "girl," but

Let's make one thing clear: Monica Bellucci is not just an actress. She's a goddess!

Not to mention a walking afrodisiac!

hear, hear!

Always has been, since my teen years. Had a huge poster of her in the bedroom ;)

great taste you have my friend  B)

Lucia Sciarra certainly has a Fione Volpe ring to it, doesn't it?

I am quite frankly amazed she is in the film.

After the years of rumours, i would have quite happily bet the world that she would never be chosen for a role in Bond.

Chuffed that she is though.

Female Blofeld?  For Special Services?

Oldest Bond girl by a wide margin.  That's a bold move.  I bet few casual fans will even realize it, though, when looking at her.  She must have one of those Dorian Gray portraits in a closet at home, or be drinking the blood of virgins, or something :)

No complaints.  She's been on my Bond girl wish list for years.

I'm more inclined to think that Belluci is playing a Fiona Volpe type, while Seydoux is secretly Blofeld's daughter but posing as an ally/love interest for 007.

If you were a virgin, wouldn't you freely offer her a pint or two if she asked?  :D

If you wish to see Monica in "all her glory," I recommend a film called "Malena." ;)

Sciarra: http://es.wikipedia....Sciarra_Colonna

Sciarra means "pendenciero" in old Italian: "troublemaker" or "quarrelsome" ;)

Also you guys, who cares how old she is? I think she looks fantastic. Also I would rather have a Bond woman who is a little older than a lot younger. I mean I have always found it creepy when James Bond is like 40 something years old and the Bond girl is in her 20's...

I wonder what the press will make of the age question.  In a way, it's kind of refreshing.  I think there'll be many kudos given for this.  Based on precedent, none of us could've predicted she'd be cast.  Now that she's in, no one's complaining.  Even over at IMDb, none of the usual anonymous internet cruelty has crept in.

Is it true she was originally up for the part of Paris Carver in TND?

Side note, I briefly dated a woman who rather looked like her (or at least IMO like she could've been Monica's sister), was about the same age, and like Monica, easily looked 10 years younger than she really was.

The same reason that Peter Baelish dumped Lysa Arryn. She was only Catelyn Stark's SISTER.

Thank you, EON, for rectifying a casting mistake from 17 years ago.

I'm way more enthused about this than anything else!

she's 50. I think it's cool. I like the idea of Bond bedding an older woman. He really has the looks+age advantage in this scenario which is actually refreshing and interesting.  He give her a good rogering to get the info!

I don't mind an older woman playing the Bond Girl, provided she looks good for her age. Monica Bellucci has always looked great, and she's aged rather gracefully. 50 years old, and she's still beautiful.

I also remember it was between her and Sophie Marceau for Elektra

As one of the few female members I have to admit that even I find her to be a walking aphrodisiac.

Her norks in that purple dress in The Sorcerer's Apprentice were very impressive  ;)

It would be an interesting twist if she's the head of Quantum, and in the midst of a conflict with SPECTRE, she and Bond become strange bedfellows. I'd like something like that, actually.
