My most anticipated film of 2015 is... (DRUM ROLL)... Not Bond 24, unfortunately. The one film I'm most looking forward to is Sicario, directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring Emily Blunt and Benicio Del Toro as it about an Arizona officer (Blunt) teaming up with a pair of mercenaries to track down a drug lord. Sounds like a generic thriller, but it has a great cast, Roger Deakins shooting and Denis Villeneuve behind it all, and he hasn't disappointed me yet.

People were saying that this year was the best film lineup in quite some time - next year seems poised, if not assured, to top it!

I can't say I'm as excited about 2015 as others seem to be, but there are a few films coming that I'm anticipating: Terminator: Genisys, The Gunman, Friday the 13th, and, of course, Mission: Impossible - V

Are we still unsure what the status is on Terminator in regards to continuity? When the movie was first green lit, it was billed as a soft reboot - last I saw, everything indicated a continuation of the original narrative...

I honestly still have no idea where they're going with this film. I get the general gist of it, but other than that it does feel like a continuation rather than a reboot.

I hadn't been following it all that closely, so I wasn't aware of what you were referring to, but then did a Google search for Terminator Genisys and was surprised to see some conflicting reports. Unfortunately, none of what I was able to find that conflicted with the previous reboot information came from a reliable enough source (such as Variety or other similar entertainment outlets) for me to conclude that they are actually going to try to fit this film into the original storyline. Still, I do hope that it is the case that they've abandoned the total reboot idea and are instead going to try to finish the story of the original films.

I was hoping for that as well. My biggest reason for optimism was casting Arnold as the T-800 instead of just a cameo... if you're rebooting Terminator, why not cast a new face to the character? I hope my hunch is correct.
And the last time a "reboot" was attempted on this franchise, we got The Sarah Conner Chronicles... I'd like to forget that.

I wouldn't go as far as to call it a reboot. TSCC is essentially a TV spin-off/expansion that follows the events from the second film. Sure it juggles some things around in the Terminator mythology, but it's far from being classified as a reboot in any way.

Well, yes. I should have said partial reboot as it basically ignored the 3rd film. Or just consider it an alternate timeline a la Back to the Future.

The only movies I will enjoy are Bond 24, Jurassic World, Ted 2 and The Man from UNCLE.
I have never seen the "The Man from UNCLE" TV series, as I'm very young and I can't find it anywhere, but I've heard great things about it and I love everything related to the "Cold War espionage".
I liked Ted and it made me laugh a lot, so I guess the second one will be enjoyable too.
I'm a Jurassic Park fan since I was 5 years old, thus the upcoming Jurassic Park IV is a must-see for me, except that I'm not very keen about the leading actor (I think Chris Pratt is heavily overrated and I really hope that rumors about him replacing Harrison Ford in the Indiana Jones 5 are false) and it was some kind of disappointment that none of the original actors repries their role (although that's better than shoe-horning them into the movie just for marketing reasons).
Regarding everything else, there's nothing that really catches my interest. Terminator and Star Wars are two of my favourite movie series, but the new ones just don't appeal to me. Terminator Genesis (or whatever it's called now) sounds like a complete mess, and the fact that it won't be a follow-up to Salvation, and that the whole cast is different, and 60 year old Arnold will play a machine just doesn't work to me.
Star Wars 7, on the other hand, seems like it could be a good movie, but in my opinion the series ended with Anakin bringing balance to the Force in Episode 6, and I can't stand the fact that this movie will star 70 year old Hamill and Fisher (who look even older than what they are but pretend to be younger) and that it will completely ignore the Expanded Universe.
Whatever is made by Disney and Marvel, I'm gonna ignore it just because it was made by Marvel (I don't like Superhero movies at all, that's just not my genre) and Disney (who seem to rehash over-done stories just to get some money).

I am actually really excited for Crimson Peak because it has Guillermo Del Toro directing it and Charlie Hunnam is going to be in it so it's a mini Pacific Rim reunion. I love it.

LOOKING FORWARD TO - MOST ANTICIPATED ARE HIGHLIGHTED IN RED & BOLD
Sicario - TBD
Bond 24 - November 6th
The Martian - November 25th
Pan - July 17th
Blackhat - January 16th (Provided it doesn't get a limited release at the end of this year.)
Sinister 2 - August 21st
Straight Outta Compton - August 14th

The leaked SDCC trailer was fantastic and some of the artwork that was present was also fantastic. I Have no doubt that this will be a great horror film. Del Toro has never let me down. Not even his current television either, The Strain.

To be honest all of the current Phase 2 Marvel films are really just copy and paste. All Phase 2 films feature crucial moments for the hero, weak, underdeveloped villains, and final third acts that are all the same with explosions and just pure mayhem. The only Phase 2 film I liked was Guardians Of The Galaxy and that was probably in thanks to the humor and multiple characters. They technically weren't superheroes, they were just intergalactic misfits, and it was enjoyable. Looking back at Captain America: The Winter Soldier, it was just "alright". Nothing more, nothing less. Same could also be said about all the latest Disney animated films. I look at them as pretty much all the same now.

I saw it right when it came out on the 26th of July along with the Batman v Superman trailer (ironically my birthday lol). It was only up for a bit before it was taken down. It looks visually stunning and quite gothic.

Oh so I can't watch it on the internet or anything? Dang... :/ This seems right up my alley. I love gothic stories and literature.

Unfortunately. We're only a year or so away, so the wait's not too long. It's also great that Legendary Pictures is giving Del Toro the freedom to create his film achieve the desired look he wants.

That's how it should be. Del Toro actually creates movies for the fun of making them and not just making a profit. Pacific Rim is an example of that.

Exactly. Pacific Rim didn't do bad at the box office. It did well internationally, and decently here domestically. It didn't make the money it should have made domestically, but it wasn't a bomb like The Expendables 3 for example. Del Toro and Legendary Pictures had high aspirations for a sequel based on strong reviews from critics and audiences as well as the box office, but Warner Bros said no. Now that Legendary Pictures is partnered with Universal, Universal signed off on the sequel and Pacific Rim 2 is slated for April 7th, 2017.
I've never seen anything bad from Del Toro and he's an extremely versatile filmmaker, ranging from fantasy to action to adventure and now to horror.

I might give Crimson Peak a go.
I saw Pacific Rim and didn't enjoy it. Mostly because I'm about as big of a Godzilla fan as I am a Bond fan - I just can't stand giant monster movies that aren't about the big green guy!

Yup. I'm extremely excited now that Universal picked up the distribution rights. Del Toro has stated that there's going to be bigger things in the sequel, especially in terms of scope, so I'm definitely excited. I saw it a year ago on my birthday and had a huge blast in the theater. Felt like a little kid watching it too. It was my top film of the summer (The Wolverine came in close!) and I'm strangely the only one of my friends to have enjoyed it thoroughly. After the disappointment that was this year's Godzilla, I went home and watched Pacific Rim and had a jolly good time. Both films are monster films at it's core, but Pacific Rim is better developed, fleshed out, handled and much more memorable than Godzilla was.

Now I can't answer that because I haven't seen Godzilla but I read your review regarding the role of Bryan Cranston and that's really stupid what they did with that character.
Pacific Rim is well developed and memorable. I mean it was original! It was all about what Del Toro wanted and he just really made the movie with passion which is really cool.

Godzilla will hopefully improve with the sequels. I blame the script, it went through something like 4 rewrites during production. It tried to balance out human drama and monster battles but was just done completely wrong. It's better than the 1998 film, but it's still disappointing. I'm actually quite shocked that the original Japanese production company, Toho enjoyed it.
