Just saw Penelope Cruz in a tv commercial and thought, "Dang. She'd be the perfect Bond Girl!"...now here I am 10 minutes later hoping this rumor gains some traction because she's simply divine. I don't know what it is about her that I find extremely alluring, but she definitely has this aura of mystique that's both haunting and beautiful.

It would be a small role, whoever plays it. Fingers crossed for Cruz - that would be fantastic. But if not, it doesn't really matter.

I'm assuming that this was a case of Cruz and Belluci both being up for the same role. Both are attractive older women and fit the same bill.

Yes, if Cruz was originally up for a BOND 24 role, it's almost certainly the same as Bellucci's.

Having said that, the team and Cruz must be on pretty good terms if she's really up for the role of "Estrella". It's an extremely small part.

Edit: This looks like I'm looking for a leak answer - I'm not - just asking hypothetically. If Cruz and Bellucci were up for the role, it would seem so.

I think that's a bit of a waste in casting if that is the case really. I'm assuming Bellucis character will not be the main Bond girl, but will have a few important scenes somewhere in the film.

For obvious reasons, I don't want to say too much publicly, but I'd say the age thing is largely relevant. The character needs to be of a certain age.
