I really couldn't find myself agreeing with much of that list at all, but each to their own.

Always interesting to see how different people have different tastes, criteria, etc.

There must be a way to utilize Bond 1-20 (1-21?) rankings as a kind of postmodern Rorschach Test.

My top 8 Bonds:

FRWL, Goldfinger, Thunderball, OHMSS, TSWLM, Moonraker, TND, CR

By bottom 4 Bonds

DAF, TMWTGG, FYEO, AVTAK

Inspite of there being a "bottom" section, these still remain entertaining with all of them having numerous scenes which leave you thinking "brilliant"!

Wow... Just checked out the list. Who came up with this list? I know the site has been around for a while and I would assume is staffed by Movie Buffs... but my guess is they are very young. As one who born in the 50's and grew up with Bond I cannot in all honesty go with that list at all. Now of course it is all a matter of opinion and can be affected when you came to the franchise. That said here is my list:

Best Bond Villians: Blofeld always and Goldfinger If we are talking down-to-Earth villians then Elektra King, Famke Jansson, Red Grant and Le Chiffre

To the poster above this reply... I understand where you are coming from in terms of Moonraker... but I still feel compelled to place View To A Kill below even Moonraker... though Lois Chiles was one of the worst Bond Girls ever. But Moonraker did have a fab Bond Gal... the filmmakers just didn't use her to her full advantage. I of course speak of the lovely Corrine Clery (Not sure about the spelling) She also started as the title character in 'Story of O'. In Moonraker she was the Helicopter pilot.

Just saw CR again. Man it's so close to #1 all time. Thing is Connery is a God even if sometimes he stumbles i.e. Medicine Man, The Avengers, Cuba and maybe his worst flick ever: League of Extrodinary Men. Now I kinda liked Indy 3 but Connery in that professor hat was awful. You do not cuckold Connery!

A personal favorite Connery movie that isn't a Bond is The Wind and the Lion.

So as I was saying it's hard not to place From Russia With Love (The most realistic Connery Bond outing) and Goldfinger (Which started the Thrillride but did it right) Dr. No is good and it tries hard and has the best Bond Girl in Ursula. She is iconic.

CR though is the perfect tonic for this series. Brosnan was fine... his movies were e-ticket rides. But we now have Jerry Bruckheimer and others to make e-ticket rides. Bringing Bond down to Earth and tearing him up is what I have always wanted. It's like Sam Raimi... he get's it with his Spidey Movies and Singer droped it with Superman Returns.
You have to have Tramua, heartache, conflict and most importantly ANGST. Especially when dealing with a character you know will not die but prevails at the end.

Bah. Any poll that puts THAT many of Sean Connery's films in the Top 10 or Top 5 clearly aren't that much a Bond fan, and going off the majority that he was the 'original' and 'best', as some Roger Moore ones clearly can out rank the likes of 'You Only Live Twice' or 'Thunderball' to some extent.

The 1st 5 vary frequently. The last one is just a hard movie for me to sit through. as I've stated many times, there is no such thing as a bad Bond film. Everyone of them as memorable moments.

Of course, this list is fluid and changes all the time. At the bottom, I alternate frequently because even the weakest Bonds are great fun and have some truly memorable moments, and how does one stack those moments against one another fairly. At the top of the list, Connery narrowly edges Craig, but who's to say after two or three turns as 007, he won't have truly become my favorite?

The thought of the 21 James Bond films, having the rank them best to worst in my opinon, boggles me but I will give it a shot!

I understand my likes will be shocking to some, nice to others, but that's half the fun of being a James Bond fan around other fans, it makes conversation on forums like these more fun!

And of course, as usual, the odd film will slide up and down the rankings over time, as there is a perfect Bond for every season and time of your life. This is how my 'life' ranks them at the moment..hehe!
