Well I still can't sort my top 5 as best to worst, so I'll just list what I consider be the top 5 in any old order and then rank the others in proper order.

Top 5:
Casino Royale, From Russia With Love, Licence to Kill, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Quantum of Solace

6. Dr No
7. Thunderball
8. The Living Daylights
9. Goldfinger
10. Octopussy
11. The Spy Who Loved Me
12. GoldenEye
13. For Your Eyes Only
14. The Man With the Golden Gun
15. Live and Let Die
16. Moonraker
17. You Only Live Twice
18. Diamonds Are Forever
19. Tomorrow Never Dies
20. The World is Not Enough
21. A View to a Kill
22. Die Another Day

N.B. While I do think TSWLM is overall a better film than OP, OP gets brownie points for being the first Bond film I ever saw.

I haven't done this for a while, and it's pretty tricky for me, as I really enjoy all of them, so even though Thunderball is 11th, I love it!! And QOS comes in surprisingly low even though I'm a fan.

1) FYEO
2) FRWL
3) Casino Royale
4) TSWLM
5) Goldeneye
6) Dr No
7) TLD
8) Octopussy
9) OHMSS
10) Moonraker
11) Thunderball
12) Goldfinger
13) LTK
14) TND
15) TMWTGG
16) QOS
17) TWINE
18) LALD
19) YOLT
20) AVTAK
21) DAF
22) DAD

I am only really happy with my bottom 3 being where they are. I can't believe where Goldfinger has to sit. This is too hard.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service
The Living Daylights
Thunderball
Dr. No

Moonraker
Diamonds are Forever
Octopussy
The Man with the Golden Gun
For Your Eyes Only
Licence to Kill

Quantum of Solace divided many fans, and I think that over time, It will be seen as a classic, just like On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

I actually think it will be seen in the same light as LTK.

I think it's quite under-rated.

Despite having a trash score, and some cheesy moments, I think it holds up as a quality Fleming thriller. It's probably the closest that Roger Moore and the Moore-Era Bond crew were going to come to something like "From Russia With Love".

Watched a few Connery movies last night. I rank Connerys first 4 movies 10/10, they're perfect 60's Bond outings, so atmospheric. After watching GoldenEye a few nights ago, it's risen in my list, as has Quantum of Solace.

The Spy Who Loved Me however, as sadly dropped to 11.

1. On Her Majesty's Secret Service | 10/10
2. From Russia With Love | 10/10
3. Thunderball | 10/10
4. Dr. No | 10/10
5. Goldfinger | 10/10
6. Casino Royale | 9/10
7. Licence to Kill | 9/10
8. GoldenEye | 9/10
9. Tomorrow Never Dies | 9/10
10. Quantum of Solace | 8/10
11. The Spy Who Loved Me | 8/10
12. Live And Let Die | 8/10
13. Octopussy | 8/10
14. The Living Daylights | 7/10
15. Moonraker | 7/10
16. The Man With The Golden Gun | 7/10
17. You Only Live Twice | 6/10

Clumping them, I get:

1. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969): takes EON's very swinging 60s creation and cements him in - a love story?? Not only that, it works: story, characters, action, design, all elements combine to create a Bond and his world, perfected. Lazenby just works.
2. Quantum of Solace (2008): best blend of character and action in the series, and Craig is pitch-perfect. An amazing film.

3. From Russia With Love (1963) and
4. Dr. No (1962): Bond's best straight-forward (ie no deeper lovestory/aftermath) adventure and Connery at his zenith: still slightly raw, suave yet not too thick with it; then his earlier, more low-budgety but still thrilling intro.

5. Goldfinger (1964): slicker yet still homey.
6. Casino Royale (2006): great rebooted Bond that anchors him in another love - his first - story, and sets up the future of the series nicely.
7. Thunderball (1965): Bond at his superspy best and Connery loving every moment of it.

8. The Man With The Golden Gun (1974) and
9. Live and Let Die (1973): a new Bond for a new era, a tad campy/uneven but with (more or less) solid Bond-style action and characters.

10. Tomorrow Never Dies (1997): after 20+ years of Barry Manilow Bond (you know, trying to get the feeling again...), this one finally strikes the correct balance and tone. Brosnan (more or less) shines.

11. The Spy Who Loved Me (1977): YOLT revisited and squared but with a much more charismatic Bond in swinging 70s Moore.
12. You Only Live Twice (1967): a Bond pastiche more than a Bond adventure, lots of cool moments but in the end a pageant, not to its betterment.
13. Diamonds Are Forever (1971): spoof-Bond with - again, and this later becomes an EON blueprint oddly enough - Bondian touches.

Rethinking a bit, just a change or two at the bottom. MR, FYEO, TLD, GE, TWINE etc. all seem such nice-try Bonds, and yet... just never feel like watching them. Maybe MR for the space scenes (unique in the series), and GE for the tank chase (not unique but fun) although both seem guilty Bond semi-pleasures at best.

4. Casino Royale (1)
5. The Living Daylights (10)
