You don't need to have played the other two to play Infinite. It's got crazy good reviews this week, lots of 9/10 and 10/10's. The game looks beautiful- a city set in the clouds! Will make a nice change from the underwater world of Rapture in the first Bioshock.

Bioshock is laughably terrible.
Agreed. I tried the first one and just don't understand why it is hailed as the greatest thing out there.

The game has some beautiful art direction and visuals in it, that's what I love about it. The story starts off as an interesting mystery, then quickly becomes a repetitive FPS game. I didn't like it, but decided to give the second game a chance, and found it just like the first game. Infinite looks terrible, and since the first two were not easily enjoyed by me, I'll be passing on it.

Wow terrible? I feel like you broke my heart... :'( if I am a fanboy of anything it's bioshock.!

Because it's a terrible, overhyped, repetitive, and boring. I'm sorry I broke your heart, didn't mean to do anything like that as you are a really awesome person and great poster here on the forums, but I just never liked Bioshock.
If I'm a fanboy, it's for Resident Evil and Sly Cooper.

Blasphemy! Iceskater and I might have to start up a Bioshock Appreciation Society just to show a united front.
The first Bioshock was an extremely atmospheric game, it looked fantastic, it scared the hell out of you at times, and had some terrific plot twists. There is a lot of love for it for good reason!
The new one looks amazing. And as for Resident Evil, I think they haven't made a decent one since Resi 4.

I know people bag on the Resident Evil games for what they've become, but I love them, I just cant pass them up and say no. I'm excited that the once Nintendo 3DS exclusive, Resident Evil Revelations is now coming to Xbox 360, very excited for that! As for Sly Cooper, I grew up with those games, and they, along with the main character, have a special place in my heart.

The best Resi i played was Resident Evil 4 on the Wii. The controls were great; pointing the wii remote at the tv and squeezing the trigger to kill the zombies was an immersive experience.
I played a bit of Resi 5 and didn't like it. Resi 6 got such bad reviews i decided to avoid that one too!

I'll join in on the Bioshock love! I love the first one. I thought 2K games created a great world and the story is excellent. You need to find all of the recordings for it to make sense, but it explains how Rapture goes from the shining utopia under the sea into a hellish nightmare. Bioshock 2 sucks, but it doesn't take away from the first. I think it is actually much better than most FPS' out there. Certainly greater than anything released by Craptivision (Ace I think you know where I'm going with this). I can't wait to play Infinite. It looks to be a fresh take on the genre and the series and its been getting rave reviews.
As for Resident Evil, I have a very love/hate relationship with that series. I love the first 3, hate CV and Zero, love 4, don't mind 5 and hate 6. Basically, this is how I rank the RE games (excluding the non-main series games):
1. Resident Evil (2002) NGC
2. Resident Evil 2 (1998) PS1
3. Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (1999) PS1
4. Resident Evil (1996) PS1
5. Resident Evil 4 (2005) PS2/NGC
6. Resident Evil Revelations (2012) 3DS
7. Resident Evil 5 (2009) PS3/X360
8. Resident Evil Zero (2002) NGC
9. Resident Evil: CODE Veronica (2000/2001) Dreamcast/PS2
10. Resident Evil 6 (2012) PS3/X360

Yeah Bioshock 2 was okay.. but it wasn't nearly as good as the first.
Also just as a general question for the 360 gamers out there.. anyone have gears of war 3? If you do, we should game together sometime. I am loving the multiplayer right now.

I stopped playing Gears Of War after the second one, which I didn't like, It was overly long, drawn out, and at times - repetitive.

I never got into Gears of War. I only ever played the first one. I never finished the campaign and I only played multiplayer for a little bit. I might give it another go though, I haven't decided. I'm starting to get back into 360 gaming so I might give it a shot.

Don't bother with it, honestly. It isn't worth playing at all. The first game was merely, okay. The online is nothing special either.

The first one is pretty medoicre I will agree with Ace over there, but gears of war 2 added a lot of really awesome things to the gameplay and gears of war 3 is even better! The multiplayer is so fun!
I am so jealous PPK I want to play this game sooo bad!!

Yeah I love Bioshock, I kind of want to replay the first before I move on to the third even though they have no relation.

That seems a bit pointless and a waste of time.

Without putting it quite so bluntly as my amigo AceOfSpades, surely playing the first one again is just making you pine even more for Infinite? I suggest buying the third straight away!
