He's perfect to take Bond further, and having him in the role longer makes it all the more better to grow with his interpretation of Bond over the next few years!

Finishing the role before he turns 50 is obviously the plan. Age is creeping up on Dan fast.

Well, at the same speed as all of us!

Who would have thought after he was ridiculed so mean-spiritedly during the production of CR?
Way to go, Danny!

But from I read the money handlers want a return to the every two year schedule
And that's got a degree of logic to it since they are providing the 200 plus million bucks needed to make each film
But if they do that.... what happens to the making of the other two Dragon Tattoo films?
While the first one didn't make the money hoped for, there are still discussions of prepping the second Tattoo film in that series WITH Craig ( from what I have read)
So if the Bonds adhere to the every two year schedule then the Dragon films will have to be squeezed in between there somehow.
and that would be a bit tiring for Craig
I don't see why an every three year schedule for Bond can't be set up
I mean Craig has proven beyond any doubt that these films will make bundles of cash
and an every three year schedule tends to give Barbara and Micheal a bit of breathing room to get the script right as well as the time needed to film and release each film
And.... Craig will also have the time (if he chooses to continue the role) for the Tattoo films because while he may love Bond, like the others who came before him, as an actor I'm sure he would want to explore other roles and projects.
And we as fans shouldn't be so selfish as to demand that he just do Bond all the time

I would think 3 years is a decent time-frame to have betwwen films, and I feel, as long as we know the cogs are moving and not hanging in the balance, it's good to get the script right, get the right cast and crew and take time to craft a better Bond than before as film-making is longer nowadays than it was 40 years ago.
I don't want any more debate and news about the future of the franchise hanging in the balance as we don't need to hear this about our much loved film series, so keep up informed and keep the wheels moving.
But as supporters of Daniel Craig as a whole, I think we just want him to keep playing James Bond as long as he possibly can whilst taking other roles he is able to, as he's a great actor and very watchable in other films, such as 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' and 'Munich' even way back when.
He's a sensible man, a professional actor and he will do what he knows he can do for Bond with the skill and time he has still on his side without taking the piss and staying on longer than he could.

While the Bond films surely are demanding and tough on their main actor I´m sure any actor would LOVE to get two films a year. So, it should not be too much of a problem except scheduling.
And on the question of 2-year or 3-year rhythm - well, I would love to see more Bonds, therefore a 2-year rhythm. Since no Bond film ever disappointed me I´m sure that they can be of a certain quality even with shorter breaks in between. (And let´s face it: tv series manage to be brilliant these days with much, much tighter schedules.)
The problem will be: with 3-years between SKYFALL, Bond 24 and Bond 25 Craig will be 50 in Bond 25. Could that be a problem? Maybe, maybe not. But EON should not push their luck with him.

I predict that he will retire from the role before 2020, so that his successor's first film will be released during the sixtieth anniversary year. My expectation has always been five Craig films, with about three years in between (Bond 24 in 2015, Bond 25 in 2018). I'll be very impressed if they manage to keep to a two-year schedule. Then again, there are ways to save time. For instance, by retaining Mendes rather than starting from scratch with a new director.
True.
However, I think that Mendes will not return so soon. Doing one Bond film was a surprise and an event. Doing the next one right after SKYFALL would probably be of no advantage to his career. He wants to use the status of having a well-reviewed blockbuster to jumpstart his film career again. In a few years down the line, maybe with the last Craig-Bond, Mendes might return. Or with the first Bond of the next actor.
