One thing that peeked my interest... at one point Barbara Broccoli said something to the effect of "Cubby and Harry started a company called EON - Everything or Nothing." Hasn't the company line always been that EON didn't stand for Everything or Nothing?

It is a real shame this film was not included in the Bond 50 boxed set. Does anyone have any intel on if or when it might see a DVD/BluRay release?
I was thinking the same thing while watching it. I would love to get a copy and put it in the slot where the "bonus disc" is.

Anyone watch any of the other Bond things they have on the website? are they all featurettes from the DVD's or is anything else exclusive on here?
Anyone see it at a theatre yet? thoughts on that?
Wish they'd shown it theatrically here in the US

Some things I've taken away from it, which I really didn't expect...
- A lot of home truths about the Saltzman/Broccoli/Connery relationship that hurt
- Hearing and seeing Barbara Broccoli nearly break down talking about her father and Connery's final words
- The moment Pierce Brosnan was let go, thanks to 9/11
- How George Lazenby was a ticking time-bomb who just wanted to act and use his passion for Bond.
- Timothy Dalton's sheer passion for Ian Fleming and the roots of Bond that were cruelly ignored by the public
- THE GREATEST GUNBARREL SEQUENCE EVER!!!
A very raw, entertaining and emotional documentary which I hope is availiable for DVD/Blu Ray purchase one day. I think my perception of George Lazenby has even been changed through this - and THAT is something I never thought I'd expect.
Feel very sorry for the chance Timothy Dalton never got and how under-estimated he was at the time.
Brilliant. Simply brilliant.

I really doubt the sales will need to be pumped, or in fact could be pumped up by a documentary. It was a great documentary. If I had to guess it will be on the Skyfall Blu-ray Special Edition to pump up sales when it is released in 2013.
I also reckon the documentary will get its own DVD release to help recoup some costs, not really helped by its three-day theatrical release window.

As for the film, I concur with all said above. A wonderful gun barrel with some wonderful editing and interviews.
While it is difficult to feel sorry for someone who has been paid millions for his acting services, it was clear that Brosnan did want to make the very type of film that we are seeing today, and indeed campaigned for it. It was unfortunate for him that the 'only' way CR could have been brought to the screen was as a first mission. I still feel this could have been a matured agent mission with gambling and Vesper, and really didn't need to be a '007 getting his stripes' story.
In fact, Brosnan suffered I think three times during his Bond association;
1. Getting and losing the role at the time of losing his wife.
2. Losing the role because, we are told, of 9/11.
3. Seeing another actor do the films he was wishing for.
I think he would have done the role justice with Craig's scripts etc. based on Tailor and Crown films. Oh well.
And the emotion from Barbara ref her father's death, and the candidness ref Connery's treatment was incredible. Very surprised the latter got through, so kudos to all concerned. I wonder if the 'lessons learned' of the Connery treatment played some part in ensuring a novice actor's first time portrayal that went very well, was rewarded. That of Craig who, it is said, received a bonus after CR.

The film did what it said though, the struggle and emotion on and off the screen, which is why it stands as one of the best 007 documentaries yet.

wait where can you go to watch this?
For those in the US it's available via EPIX; if your tv/cable provider doesn't carry it you can sign up for a free 14 day trial and watch it online

That is exactly what I did and it was well worth the sign-up. For a Bond documentary, it was very well put together, decently thorough and very enjoyable.

The director was on the Empire podcast; he doesn't come over too well to be honest- he seems to know less about Bond than most people. He kind of explains that the Bond films are based on "writer Ian Fleming"'s books, and keeps calling Brosnan 'Piers'.

Fantastic documentary. As good as the John Cork documentaries from the DVDs. Informative and had lots of interesting tidbits I didn't know, especially in regards to the Cubby/Sean falling out and the whole Kevin McClory business. It was nice to hear Pierce poke fun at his own films. He came across as very likable. Heck, they all did. You could feel Dalton's passion for Fleming, Roger's sense of humor, Craig's appreciation for the character, and George's retrospective "what was I thinking?" kind of attitude.
Hopefully this will be on Skyfall's DVD/Blu-ray. Such a shame it wasn't on the Bond 50 Bonus Disc - that would have made it worthwhile.
