They're walking away from her corpse in the first shot, and he's shooting her in the second.

You sure they´re walking away? Looks to me as they´re walking towards two tables facing Severine corridor. And then he shoots her.

Well I'm not willing to believe it's Severine just yet....becuase.....film world can be deceptive and it's just a trailer...

....but if it is, then she may be unconcious, and maybe Silva doesn't shoot her to kill her, maybe he's doing the old shoot near her head once...twice...making Bond answer something or tell him information...

....I can't believe it would be so simple to show this event on a trailer...!

Bond's mention of resurrection refers to himself coming back from the dead, I believe.

It could also be a reference to the series' longevity and its ability to constantly reinvigorate itself.

What do you call that big river in northern Africa, near Cairo?

Is that really a mug with the letter Q on it next to Mr Wishaw?

Hmm.

A Scrabble influenced mug, no less. Shock product placement.

Wise move, pins don't go with every lapel. But every table yearns for tableware...

honestly, and I know this is going against the grain... but I don't particularly like the look of Bardem. To me he just looks odd with blond hair... and not menacing at all. The rest looks nice though...

First off, amazing trailers. This footage captures the feel of a quality film. I feel the QoS bad taste will be erased from the average movie goer's minds after the pre-title sequence. This looks like the Bond film we've waited on, and so desperately wanted. Bardem looks awesome as Silva. In regard to average movie goer's minds, does anyone think Taken 2 - which comes out a month before Skyfall and takes place in Instanbul with action scenes in many of the same spots, might cause some unfair comparisons? Don't want to get off topic, but I saw both trailers this morning and I had an uh-oh moment. All of us here won't think this for a second, but somebody is going to point this out in a negative way, you watch.

I can see what you mean when mentioning Taken 2. But the only similarities i see is the location and the fact that James Bond and Bryan Mills will be beating the s*** out of bad guys.

We won't see Mills be in a gun battle in a Turkish Market, fight on top of a train or fall hundeds of feet to 'his death'. Also we have an excellent DP in Deakins, i doubt Istanbul will look quite as beautiful in Taken 2 :)

Regarding Taken 2...Footchase on rooftops vs Motorcycle chase on rooftops. Bond dwarfs it.

Is it me or do I see hints of Fleming's The Man With The Golden Gun within this trailer? Bond's return to MI6. An attempted assasination on M. Sir James Maloney. Bond's recovery and him being sent out on a mission to kill Scaramanga. Something to that effect anyway. If you've read the novel you know what I mean. Silva does fit the bill of Scaramanga from the novel if you catch my drift.

Anyone?

For several pages I've noticed an absence of 'looks naff' comments.

Is nobody worried anymore that Skyfall might turn out to be 'bad'?

I know I'm not.

It's also VERY nice to hear, or rather NOT hear any new comments regarding Bond's stubble (remember how things where way back when we got our first official Skyfall pic of Bond? ) or it being a blaspheme to make Ben Whishaw as the new "Q"...indeed...nothing but silence..

God bless this trailer!

When was the last time we've had a pure revenge-driven Bond villain, if that's indeed the case? Has there ever been one? I guess, Trevelyan, a bit? Except he was arguably evil before 007 'burned' him? ;)

Special mention for the look of the scenes on Silva's island (i.e. Hashima), where Bond is in the shirt and dinner jacket, and Silva has the cream jacket. I don't think I'd ever have guessed that was all shot at Pinewood. Looks great.

So is it just me or does it finally look like we're getting a Bond film where Bond is more or less just on a mission? No more revenge type stories, or "this time it's personal" stories.

Granted there will be a bit of a personal stake for Bond, because you don't have an actor like Craig and not get him meaty scenes to play. But it just doesn't feel as heavy handed as it has in the past.

That´s the good thing about it. Although it is heavy and emotional and loaded with humanity in all its forms : revenge, anger, passion, hate, love, friendship, ...; it´s also fun. Let me say it again, in the words of T.E. Lawerence: It´s going to be fun!

Yep, with the exception of substituting Japan with Turkey and not including "As your readers have learned..."

"A senior officer of the Ministry of Defense, Commander James Bond, C.M.G., R.N.is missing, believed killed, while on an official mission toTurkey"

From YOLT:

"As your readers will have learned from earlier issues, a senior officer of the Ministry of Defence, Commander James Bond, C.M.G., R.N.V.R., is missing, believed killed, while on an official mission to Japan"

PS: and that was my 1500 post, wow, morbid a bit.
