Excellent! Thank you Donovan and Univex - and anybody else who might post an equally informative response while I'm typing this.
I thought the obituary was a nice touch and a sign they were really going into Fleming´s territory. Nice work Mendes and co.

Indeed, just like the LTK signature gun. It raises hopes of physical gadgets or trickery appearing in the film. With Q looking to be a young computer wizard we could get the best of both worlds.Love what they've done with the PPK!

Does anyone else love that shot of Bond tied to the chair and looking down the long hallway to see Silva emerging from the elevator? Just creepy!!
I agree! It gave me chills.

Also, anyone willing to have a go at what part of the movie, Silva's scene with M takes place? When he's in the glass cell?

2:21 on the International. What on earth is Bond hanging off?
A lift on the Shanghai skyscraper that Bond takes to the 67th floor.
Also, anyone willing to have a go at what part of the movie, Silva's scene with M takes place? When he's in the glass cell?
After Hashima Island. It's the isolation chamber he breaks out of, before he travels across London with Bond on his tail to kill her.

So it looks like Bond captures Silva, then. I didn't know that. Thanks!

All very true.Maybe it's all part of the plan. He wllingly gives himself up. Which explains why he's in such a massive high security cell. If he goes back with Bond, he'll be closer to M.
But it can´t be that easy can it? We do see Bond fighting his henchmen on the island. And if Silva turned himself in, wouldn´t that arouse some suspicion? But I do agree with you Matt, I do believe it´s all part of his plan.

I feel there hasn't been a really fantastic, greatly memorable villain since GoldenEye. The past few Bond movies have provided me with a slight indifference concerning who the villains were. To say I'm excited to find out just who this man turns out to be is an understatement and also quite telling.
After all-- with a great, interesting villain, usually comes a great story.
Long story short, I'm pumped for this outing ladies and gents.

I believe Bond activates a tracker to draw reinforcements to the island to apprehend Silva, but being captured and taken to London was probably always part of Silva's plan, giving him "Trojan horse" status and proximity to M so he can target her.All very true.

Agreed, the dialogue in that scene alone was fantastic! God the final product is going to be awesome!

The whole, 'sending Bond on a mission that M knows he's not ready for' is a book Golden Gun theme where if Bond succeeds then he redeems himself for the attempt on M's life, and if he fails than he has paid for it.
Not sure if Bond is somehow at fault for the missing hard drive...

Silva is very condescending with his dialogue here. Painting a picture to Bond that he’s a small fish that isn’t up to it, going up against a heavyweight. The way Bardem says “chasing spies” especially sticks with me. And also that Bond’s country and organization are irrelevant. Points I think will be tackled in the plot with a new M, and Bond standing overlooking London at the end, with the flag flying proudly. What I like about the trailers is that Bond’s world is full of colour and charm, a memorable villain being one of those things. And of course the Bond/Q dynamic, the women (Bond in the shower with Severine brings the Shrubland’s steam room to mind) and the gorgeous visuals from Deakins.

...which is only a good thing because I think Silva could a villain unlike any serious Bond villain we've seen on screen for many a year!

Exactly what I was thinking. No doubt will SIlva test Bond mentally and physically. I have a feeling that this villain is going to be one to remember.

According to me, it's not sure that M gives the order to kill Bond."A senior officer of the Ministry of Defense, Commander James Bond, C.M.G., R.N.is missing, believed killed, while on an official mission toTurkey"
From YOLT:
"As your readers will have learned from earlier issues, a senior officer of the Ministry of Defence, Commander James Bond, C.M.G., R.N.V.R., is missing, believed killed, while on an official mission to Japan"
PS: and that was my 1500 post, wow, morbid a bit.
Maybe, on the contrary, she gives order to kill... his opponent...
But the fight on the train can interfere with Eve's aim.
So she eventually shoots the wrong person...
What do you think?

With Eve seemingly under pressure she's not sure what to do and so with M's career on the line getting the information back, she orders the shot and I think it's almost a slight fact of "I don't care if it's messy, just take the shot quick and kill that bastard and get back the drive!", and I think she really puts the mission above Bond's safety and welfare at the risk of it going wrong...which it does...and he is shot and helps the title mean something more with his drop.
It will be interesting to see Eve and Bond's relationship after this...

From the extended footage in the IMAX trailer I had no doubt Eve hit bond by mistake. She was hesitating because she couldn't get a clear shot, which is why M yells at her.
