it's not sure that M gives the order to kill Bond.
Maybe, on the contrary, she gives order to kill... his opponent...
But the fight on the train can interfere with Eve's aim.
So she eventually shoots the wrong person...
What do you think?

I think this is correct.

From the extended footage in the IMAX trailer I had no doubt Eve hit bond by mistake. She was hesitating because she couldn't get a clear shot, which is why M yells at her.

Spot on, yes.

I find myself saying "this reminds me of such and such" quite a bit - but - this does seem similar in spirit to Tilly Masterson's aim in 'Goldfinger', where she nearly hit Bond, but was aiming at Auric.

I've been thinking this too. It all looks like a set up for that kind of scene.

Very good trailer. Still some things I'm not sure about (Q, several TWINE-ish plot devices), but it's a better trailer than we've gotten for either of the previous two Craig films. The standouts are, for me, easily Berenice Marlohe and Javier Bardem. My two favorite moments of the trailer were the "What do you know about fear" exchange and "She sent you after me knowing you're not ready, knowing you would likely die... Mommy has been very bad."

The thing I loved most, about the International, that is, was the lack of music. "What do you know about fear" - "All there is." sounded perfect with total silence surrounding it. Brilliant trailer.

I agree on the TWINE comparisons, but It's like this was the movie they tried to make in '99, but with a competent cast and director. "Mommy was very bad." was a great line as well, finally a mommy related line that wasn't cheesey. (Jinx.)

Also, on another note. The amount of people that have said "OH MY GOD SKYFALL LOOKS AMAZING!", who aren't Bond fans, or don't really care for the movies, was nice. I showed my friend the trailer, and he was blown away. He enjoys some Bond films (Because of my presense when we were younger), but I've never seen him antcipate a new Bond film with such excitement.

I haven't seen that one. I'll have to check it out.

I think that, and rightly so given his track record and previous accolades, Bardem is getting most of the attention here, but Marlohe has been what I've been most drawn to at this point. I think that Marlohe is right up there with the likes of Claudine Auger in terms of being amongst the most attractive of the Bond girls, and I love the way she carries herself in the brief snippets we've seen of her and her line deliveries are excellent. I know we're going to get something good from Bardem, as he's never bad even when the material he's given isn't up to par, but I'm very interested to see what Marlohe brings to this. Very impressed with her so far.

I think the problem with TWINE rested behind the camera. The cast, at least IMO, was quite talented. Sophie Marceau and Robert Carlyle are very good actors, they were just given absolutely nothing to work with in terms of their characters. The only good that they were given to work with was the broad concept of the Elektra and Renard characters. The details that the writers filled into that broad concept were terrible.

Also, on another note. The amount of people that have said "OH MY GOD SKYFALL LOOKS AMAZING!", who aren't Bond fans, or don't really care for the movies, was nice. I have noticed that the media seem more inclined to build this up as an event film, which is good. I don't remember them being this excited about a Bond movie in quite some time, so hopefully Bond is back to being an event film for more people than just those of us here.

A minor observation... At 0:32 (US version) in the shot of the YouTube videos of the blown agents, we see that the videos were uploaded by a user named "vials". Rearrange the letters and you get, of course, "silva".

I've read so many trailer breakdowns online, where people are saying M has issued a kill order on Bond. Anyone in the right mind can see it was an accident!

Is being in your right mind a prerequisite for doing an oline trailer analysis?

I thought having too much time on your hands was the only requirement...

It should be. Perhaps not 'being in their right mind' as such. But keeping one's freakishly persistent obsessions and delusions about whatever firmly in check; yes, that's prerequisite. Because I've also read a fair amount of digested-to-the-final-stage-pre-excretion about SF by the Craig-not-this-but-that school-of-non-thought, and that's not just narrow-minded, it's also boring and not really worth the trouble; much less worth the time.

Sorry if this has been discussed already... Around 1:49 in the US trailer (right after the "mommy has been very bad" line) who is that looking out/down from the balcony area?...

At about 0:17 in the international trailer, there is a very brief (4 frames) flash of a photo, possibly from a newspaper or maybe an MI:6 file.

It's difficult to make out because the colours are messed up (sort of a negative image), but it appears to be of 3 men and M (or possibly 2 different photos side by side, one of 2 men and the other of M with a man). Above the 2 men on the left it says "ASSASSINATED?". Below them is a partial caption that reads "...confirmed. Was he assassinated?"

Part of M's and Silva's shared past?

(The same thing is in the US trailer at 0:34 but even shorter.)

So I suppose we might be getting a scene were Bond drops his signature gun and someone tries to use it on him like in LTK...

I am hoping for a scene where Bond's hands are cut/damaged and the gun can't read Bond's palms. Much more interesting to see Bond lose use of a gun than the bad guy. Including the ramifications between Bond, Q and future gadgets..

Great point. Although we see Bond activate it in a car, so perhaps he can do that and then puts on the gloves....

Looking at that part in the trailer, his left hand is gloved and the right isn't as it's activating the weapon. I'm really digging the idea of it a lot. I wonder what other stuff Q has in store for Bond.

Yeah, but then he's holding it with the gloved hand when he's stalking Patrice. It's likely just palm-to-activate and then carte blanche for firing.

We Argies will get the US Version. Still I prefer the International one... the way it starts, M writing Bond's obit (a la YOLT the novel) with the dramatic JBT cue!

I wonder if Bonds new gun will make it to a video game...
Perhaps the three lights mean something like how long until it needs to be activated again, why else the three different green lights? Perhaps it has more functions,......

Here's my Bond 50 Trailer for Skyfall, using the footage, and music from the International and US Domestic. It's more of an extended TV Spot, but I'll make a longer version somewhere down the line.
