Totally agree . 100%To expand on my earlier thoughts, the Bond games really seem to be missed opportunities. Goldeneye64 was a fun FPS and would gladly purchase it if they ported the N64 version to the xbox. Since then every game has been dull shooters lacking in any compelling story. GE64 was great and still is great because you acknowledge that when it was made during a time when they wasn't much like it. It was the next big shooter since Doom. With the recent games there's almost no point in playing it when you could spend your money on something a lot better.
While the Bond games can't get out of being mostly shooters the games have moved on and incorporate elements of the spy / adventure genre: Deus Ex series, Metal Gear Solid, Splinter Cell, Uncharted. A Bond game should have some elements of being a spy. Jeez Mission Impossible for the N64 felt more like a spy game.
A game currently in development at Rockstar is Agent, a spy thriller set in the 1970s during the Cold War. I'm excited about this game after the success R* has had at pushing storytelling in their games with GTA, RDR, and their collaboration with Team Bondi in LA Noire.
Makes me sad that we're probably get a Bond game on this level.

A preview from E3 : http://www.shacknews...12-007-legends#
Alright... I don't know if any of the promotional material is to be believed because according to this article the game only has missions from five movies.
Why are the Skyfall missions not even on the disc!? Well, on the bright side, I guess that makes it more likely that we'll get more missions from other movies down the road.

"they have acknowledged that the upcoming Bond film Skyfall will be available as a free DLC mission soon after the game releases on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on Oct. 16 this year."
We don't have to pay.

What It Doesn’t Have: All its content at launch. Since the game comes out before Skyfall does, that spoiler-filled chapter will be available as a free download to all owners later this year.
What You Might Not Have Heard Yet: The PC game will only be available as a direct download. Is this a sign of things to come for the PC market?

The setting’s been modernized, with a Daniel Craig Bond—a lookalike lacking Craig’s actual voice—using tools like a smartphone, but some of the ‘70s camp aesthetic is preserved in bright orange and yellow space jumpsuits and Bond’s gear.

That's a shame, here's hoping it's temporary.

Wow. Just when I didn't think this project could look any worse, this news comes out.

First person and constant shooting isn't Bond to me: I want third person (because Bond is a movie character and we like watching him on the big screen- removing 007 from the experience is such a weird thing to do) and I want varying types of gameplay; driving vehicles etc. because that's what Bond does. Hell, it's about time one of them has a gambling level!

Sounds amazing! No Wii version? Guess I'm out. It will probably be on the new Wii U platform in the Fall.
I am a bit disappointed that the other Bond actors are not being used and that it is Craig's Bond in all missions.
Oh well.
I love that they are doing Moonraker as one of the missions! So cool!
I know Roger Moore has mentioned that he was approached by EA to make a Moonraker game after the release of Connery's From Russia With Love game.
The other missions? I'll take a guess at them!
Connery: Goldfinger is his biggest? Twice or Diamonds would be fun choices too.
Lazenby: On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Dalton: Could go either way right? Daylights is my choice, but LTK would be great too!
Brosnan: could be any of them! I'll say Die Another Day though!

Really? I would have been very excited to play that.

Yes. The Moonraker game project fell apart when EA lost the Bond gaming license.
Moore mentioned this on his official website on one of his monthly Q&A sections.

As long as the Bond actors are still around they should create new adventures for them and have them provide their voice (like Big Finish Audio Productions does with classic Doctor Who actors). It would be great to play as Lazenby or Dalton in a new adventure. But of course the gaming license to the Bond franchise lies with companies who will simply shove out a bland FPS instead of trying something more innoventive.
Sure. Plus they would have to pay additional $$$ for having the other actors appears. Which in turn drives up the cost of making the game.
I can see why it was not done for 007 Legends. This would have made the project much more costly to have to pay the other actors to voice on the game.
The way it is being done they only have to pay Craig.

Nothing exclusive, nothing excitingly new or even new film reveals. It's like they are appealing to the wrong target audience with this game and it's not, in my eyes, exactly being marketed or viraled in a decent way.
Time will tell I guess...!

I know its all about marketing tactics but I would like if they would just go ahead and tell us what the movies are. I don't need videos or screenshots. I'd just like to know.
I know what you mean, buf it wouldn't be any fun if we knew everything at once. It's like the production of Skyfall releasing all the footage that they have so far. There'll just be no excitement around it anymore. What they're trying to do is gradually release information and drip feed us. They're going the wrong way about it though, because I don't really care either.
