I've said this before, but I really, really hope it is exactly like this, with the Quantum footage and the Brosnan CGI.

No, just that the gunbarrel's unlikely to be identical to a Youtube fan video.
I'm guessing they'll want to put a new spin on it, with maybe a bit of a reference to the 62-89 sequences. I like Shrublands' idea of a digital fibre-optic camera filming a moving gunbarrel, composited with Craig's walk and gunshot.

And if Mendes is as passionate to bring Bond back with a capital B, hopefully he'll deliver this iconic moment along with THE line and those Vodka Martinis.

Since it is everywhere on the various posters, somehow I highly doubt it wouldn't be in the movie itself.
I was hoping that would be the case following it's prominent placement in the marketing thus far. Hopefully back in it's rightful place at the start too.

The question I have is how long until they decide to try something new again?

I just watched the "Secrets of Skyfall" video on the main page and it shows a bit of Craig filming the classic walk, turn and shoot which I assume is for the new gunbarrel.
I watched it too and I agree. Notice he walks much slower than in the QoS gunbarrel....and a different pose when firing.
I think its going to look great, especially with Kleinman back.

On the idea if they use the gunbarrel, I would make a new poll thread but it probably would be moved for discussion here so I'll put it to you:
What style of gunbarrel music do you want 'Skyfall' to have, for the first proper time we launch into a 'Bond with a Capital B' for Daniel Craig, considernig this sets the tone for the movie...would you like to have...
The big, loud "DA DA DUMMM, DA DA DUMMM, DA DA DA DA DA..." into, like we hear in 'From Russia With Love', 'Live & Let Die', 'The Living Daylights', 'GoldenEye' etc...actually, bar the experimental 'Dr.No', it seems every actor gets the big triumphant intro for their first gunbarrel, so maybe Craig will get this big Bond intro?
That one please. With guitar riff when he shoots.
And TRIANGLE when he's walking!
Had a closer look at the gunbarrel shown in the Adele advert currently running on Sky Movies 007 HD this evening. Faded and in black and white, which would be an interesting change, but quite like Craig's turn and shoot.
Yes he's very harshly lit from one side, isn't he?

I took a couple of shots with my phone, so the quality is not so good, but they give you an idea of how it will look like:

There's a very nice shot of Daniel Craig's gunbarrel position in the "BoS - Filming Skyfall" book.

Buy the book, guys. It´s called copyright for a reason.

I don't think this has ever been more appropriate: " Let the mayhem begin."

But seriously, I know it's not a big deal, but why change it in the first place?
