That actually gave me an idea. What if they did a throwback to Dr. No and OHMSS by having the white dots stop in the middle of the screen and the "Albert R. Broccoli's EON Productions Presents" line pop up? I wouldn't be opposed to that. If we're talking a classic gun barrel you can't get much more classic than the very first one.

And you can't jump directly from the gun barrel to the title sequence - who are you, Irvin Kershner?

It's what they did in Dr. No. Seriously though, that title sequence was a separate idea I had which I just tagged on, I wouldn't want to loose the PTS.And you can't jump directly from the gun barrel to the title sequence - who are you, Irvin Kershner?

Care to give it a try, JC?

I agree that it should still read "Albert R. Broccoli's EON Productions" but other than that, that's the right idea. Instead of the "&" being in the white dot that stops, "EON" could be there and the text centered accordingly.
...Or the white dot could be the O in EON?
Just a thought.

Just going back to the first one for nostalgic reasons is not the way to go, IMO.
Give us something new that nods its head to the established ones.

I wasn't talking the music, JC just happened to use it for the purpose of the video. I'd still want it to start with a bang in terms of the Bond theme. I just thought it would be a nice nod to have the writing in the dots. Don't forget, OHMSS did it too and it worked just fine.I don't understand your enthusiasm for this DNish crediting at the beginning, especially the music. I would be very disappointed if the gunbarrel wouldn't start with a blast, climax Bond theme.

Leave him alone. If you hadn't been so quick to criticize, you'd notice you forgot a period at the end of your sentence, so what was that you said about writing properly? Besides, 80% of his spelling was correct (including a period at the end of his sentence), and he was offering his opinion, whereas you weren't. All you did was bark at him and made him feel like crap. Yes, I think spelling matters, but I could read that easily. Grow up.

I think it was more that S.P.E.C.T.R.E wrote in a different colour and "txt speak" in each post he made, it did get a little annoying. Examples here.

the tone-setting chilling music in 'Licence To Kill'....
That'd be brilliant and very exciting...!
I would love to hear something like the LTK music, as it sets the tone for the movie and makes it stand apart from some of the others. But the gunbarrel must be at the start, please!

I've been lurking around the forum for a while and I thought it was time to post something.
One of the oldest (and most famous) movie magazine here in Italy just hit the newstands with the August issue, with a few pages about Skyfall.
The journalist claims he had the chance to be at Pinewood Studios a few months ago and he was there during the shooting of a scene. He also had the chance to interview cast and crew.
He asked about the gunbarrel scene and he got an answer. I'll put it under a spoiler tag, in case someone doesn't want to be spoiled:
It's been a while since I last bought this magazine. A few years ago it was the best around here. Let's hope it's still reliable.

Like I said, I could read every single one of those easily.

Of all the things to care about in Bond, I think the gunbarrel is... well, it barely even registers for me.
To answer your question... No. Definitely not. You are NOT the only person to care about the gunbarrel in one way or another. You only need to poke around the archives to see threads upon threads discussing (analyzing!) the topic.
The more interesting question might be, am I the only person who doesn't give a flying flipperoo what they do with it or where they stick it or how much blood of some particular viscosity pours forth from it?
I may be.
(So long as it's there. Total absence I think I might notice.)
I'm with JC (and the others who have echoed him) on this. I don't really care about the gunbarrel. I will say it's cool to see each of the actors get a crack at it, but other than that the only thing that interests me about them is how varied the gunbarrel music has been.
Besides, all purists know the only TRUE gunbarrel would be done by a stuntman, and from such a distance as to not be able to tell who the hell it is. Also, a hat.
