Well, when there's no production going on, it's easy to keep a lid on it. When they move from preproduction into actual production, I'm sure we'll get another round of leaked call sheets, set photos, Baz Bamigboye scoops, domain name registrations, etc.

(Apologies if this is not the appropriate thread for this) Not much to get too excited about, but... amongst the titles of upcoming releases unveiled at the Licensing Expo in Vegas...Bond 24! Ok, most likely it's just a temp logo as it's in the same font as Bond 23/ Skyfall was, and I'd imagine that we'll get a different font for whatever the final title of B24 is.. Still, it's kind of cool to see some visual proof that things are in motion as far as Bond 24 goes.. Hopefully we'll get some sort of news and or tidbits coming soon. Hard to believe that Star Wars Ep. VII news is like an open book compared with the production of Bond, up to this point at any rate..

http://www.comingsoo...19580#/slide/64

It does look like the same font used for SF...Hopefully we won't be getting a literal "Skyfall 2".

(Skyfaller? Skyfallier? I Still Know What You Did Last Skyfall? )

Hmm...if it is for Bond it's interesting that Logan's still getting promoted as the mind behind it all, especially after all the noise surrounding P&W returning.

It's unlikely a Bond movie would use an open casting call for extras, where you'd likely get a load of nutters and wannabes. It would be hard to get them to agree to sign and stick to the necessary non-disclosure agreements. Much more effective to use professional extras who would realise their career is in jeopardy if they leak plot details etc.

Bond 24 is not the only John Logan film in preproduction. Imdb shows "Genius", some film starring Colin Firth and Jude Law. Looks like an indie film as well, so maybe more willing to cut costs by using inexperienced extras

I have a friend who went to this, he confirmed it was called Genius. Unless it's a cover up of course, secret Bond filming could be underway before it officially begins. I remember a few shots were picked up for Quantum of Solace during the summer of 2008. A good 4 months before anything was announced. Could be worth considering. But why film in Manchester and Liverpool? Unless it's doubling as something else, Bond wouldn't really go there, would he? Oh, the possibilities! It begins again!

It's definitely filming for GENIUS - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1703957/

Doubt they'd use a cover name of another existing project, penned by the same writer.

But that's exactly what we had in Austria for the QoS opera scenes in Bregenz. People from all over Europe travelled there, the whole town went crazy...

For those who are hoping for RISICO as a title, none of the related domain names have been registered yet as far as I can tell.

EON doing a great job of keeping the title under wraps, whereas Skyfall came out around a month or so before the reveal, if I recall correctly.

That's right. Almost exactly a month before. Michael G Wilson referred to the title as the "worst-kept secret in London" when they finally revealed it officially during the press conference.

QUANTUM OF SOLACE wasn't confirmed as the title for BOND 22 until filming was well under way, but my gut instinct (based on nothing at all) says they've already settled on the title for this one.

Sorry, Vauxhall, QoS was revealed at the start of shoot press conference. And was on the internet a few days before thanks to a domain name registration, the same as Skyfall. I remember us working it out here at CBn.

It was only DAD that wasn't selected until well into the shoot.

Ah, my mistake. Figuring out the domain name registration sounds fairly familiar now.

The press conference was a few weeks into filming though, wasn't it? Late January 2008. Know it's just semantics though :)

Yes, you are right, they had shot a bit, a week or so, because there was B roll of them filming stuff as part of the EPK given out to the media on the day.

I agree, I'm fairly certain they have a title for Bond 24 and probably have for some time.

Something tells me they already have a title as well, but are waiting to reveal it, which will probably be at the press conference.

Maybe not the most appropriate place to drop this, but as we are no doubt approaching the press event for Bond 24, here's a glimpse of what we were looking at almost exactly 9 years into the past.

How far we've come.

They didn't announce the date of the conference as such, we found out that it was going to happen via journalist tweeting that they had been invited.

This started to happen about a week before the conference was held.

Can I ask how Skyfall was worked out to be the title prior to its being announced.

I am aware one can look up name availability on Whois, but that would require a name being known.  How did the people get to see what was being logged by Sony?

I am sure it's a simple answer, just not currently simple to me.

Ta.
