Could be a double entendre. Univex has a point too. I've never heard of the company so it's a bit over my head. Very smart joke if that's the case.

The music in the Bond trailers is never - almost never - from the score of the upcoming film, or provided by the composer. The CR Bond theme was done by an external agency, the Brosnan mixes were Parodi Fair and Moby. Newman won't have recorded a note for Skyfall yet, beyond demos. Just far too early. Let alone done a Bond theme remix.

But of course, I could be wrong

The "Daft punk cover" description doesn't mean it wasn't a techno-heavy Bond theme remix. Not using the Bond theme in a trailer would be the first time in...well, ever, that they haven't done that.

Something like Daft punk could suit a teaser, a bit like Vangelis for Bladeruner or Daft punk for Tron. But of course those are Scifi films. Still, I can see it working.

Rereading that fellow's tweet, I actually take an implication away that it was the Bond theme, just a new cover. Marketto asked if the Bond theme was there as "usual" - the reply was just that it sounded like a DP remix, not that it wasn't the Bond theme.

Well, the Spider Man trailer is being shown with the Avengers, as is TDKR. We can always keep our fingers crossed that the skyfall trailer is getting hooked on it as well.

I´m still hoping for an old-fashioned lush Barry sound for the score - but trailers these days always have the same sound and enforce speed, speed, speed, BIG MOMENT, silence, then speed, speed, crescendo, EVEN BIGGER CRESCENDO, cooling down.

It could have just been temp music for the trailer teaser? Perhaps they wanted Newman to put together some music for the trailer? Or perhaps he's right and it sounds vaguely like Daft Punk. Wouldn't be the first time a trailer didn't utilize music from the movie.

The score for Skyfall cannot be written or recorded until the film is cut together. Newman will already be working on the score using the first cut scenes (but at htis stage these scenes are far from finalized and fine cut). The score is the last key element to go into the soundtrack mixing. They use temp music or scored music from other movies for trailers.

Crikey...I got a chill just reading about the evaluation and word association, and that's just reading it! I can hear Craig's voice responding to them over the images on screen...'Skyfall.' 'Skyfall?'....'Done'. Blimey, sounds very crypic!

I just read the final line of "Some men are coming to kill us. We've got to kill them first."...very eerie. Is he talking to 'M' there maybe...?

Oh dear....so much longer to wait for this, I can't hold out much more!

That Trailer sounds very hard-edge (at least in my opinion) I'm sure and everybody else here probably knows that it will premiere in front of Sony's Men In Black 3, I think It might come sooner and appear in front of Universal's Battleship, another action film, although it has Science fiction elements in it.

Just saying since Quantum Of Solace's trailer appeared in front of Warner Bros. The Dark Knight.

The Trailer description in the link above sounds like their showing tibits of action and still keeping guessing for more.

I must say I find the “Country” – “England” exchange grindingly wrong.
Speaking as a Celt who has lived my entire adult life in England, I would never say “England” in such a context. No self respecting Celt would. For a film that goes to such lengths to show us that Bond was born in Scotland to a Scottish father,with a long Scottish heritage, this seems to smack of an American writer just getting it wrong, very wrong. If they didn’t want to have him say “Scotland”, “Britain” would be more than expectable for Bond in this film, but not “England”.
