Those covers are pretty bad... Brosnan looks like he ate all the doughnuts that morning.
And as for Moore:
More cynical money grabbing from MGM. After Bond 50 it'll now be a very, very long time before i take another dip.

They're going for minimalism like the Skyfall teaser, reminds me of Penguin Classics.
Dodgy images in some cases though!
Some inconsistency in the logos. TWINE has '007' underneath it, CR and QoS have it as part of their logos, but the other films don't. And the spines for CR and QoS have the differently weighted Os, despite not being accompanied by the 7!
Javier Bardem's credit on the Skyfall cover is strange as well!

That's what it reminded me of as well. I like the overall idea of what they're going for, even if some of the images are a bit strange looking.

I just thought of the old Fox VHS 007 covers..

Very behind on this, but the steelbooks look fantastic. What to do, what to do...

The steelbooks look exceptional. The whole series should be released with that same approach.

Looking forward to bond 25 when we will get 4k HD transfers instead of the same discs from the bond 50 set reissued with new packaging.
Indeed - that's when I'll seriously think about re-purchasing the films.

The focus seems to be on Blofeld. Which does not make any sense since the bad guy in SPECTRE is called Oberhauser.
I have a feeling Blofeld *may* be in the new film... but who said anything about it having to do anything specifically with Oberhauser?
There are plenty of other new and mostly new characters that could turn out to be a Blofeld... maybe Bond himself will end up being Blofeld.
WHAT A TWIST!

God most of the Blu-ray art is awful! Never mind the horrid white block at the bottom, but the art-eqsue look they've gone for is a mess. Why does Roger Moore look like he's suffered a stroke in nearly all his shots?
And as for poor 'Licence To Kill'? That's the best shot they used? A portrait of a sad, confused Bond?
Dear me. Poor show!

I was considering upgrading to the new set - but right now (unless someone tells me different) all this looks like is the Bond 50 set re packaged. I don't know if I want to spend the best part of £100 on that. I think I'll just stick with what I've got and wait a few years. Let MGM (or whoever) re release it a couple more times before I commit to another dip. Maybe on the 60th Anniversary.

I think the new blu ray box looks very cheap without any class in comparison with the 50th anniversary boxset.
The EON documentary mainly consists of interviews, so the dvd version is enough for me.
The covers of the individual titles are looking very airbrushed again. The LTK cover is one ot the worst I've ever seen. What were they thinking?

I'm affraid it's probably the only way to get it, but it's just a docu with interviews and pieces of the movies you already have on blu ray.... so.... for me it's not worth to buy another blu ray box again. Having the dvd is enough for now...

Any word if the rest of the films will be rereleased and when???
Posted 07 August 2015 - 08:58 PM
Nothing as of yet!
Although, the James Bond Facebook page mentioned something about the steelbooks and mentioned something of 'never before seen bonus features' so fingers crossed we get some new stuff.

Thanks. I have an assorted collect of dvd/br and I only need YOLT, OHMSS & DAF. I like the OHMSS one in particular.

I stand corrected I only need OHMSS and DAF.
I have
LALD - SF on DVD
DN - YOLT, TMWTGG, FYEO, TWINE - SF on BR.
I'm hoping for a GE and TND steelbook. I suppose I'll get the SP steelbook too...

GOT THEM!

Nice work! Already on Amazon.co.uk the individual prices are disgusting and an insult - £35 upwards for the steelbooks.

What's the verdict on the steelbooks guys? Worth investing in??
OHMSS is really tempting me at the moment - not from Amazon obvs.!!

I want to upgrade my LTK DVD to the blu-ray steelbook edition. It looks fantastic.

I have the QoS Steelbook from Zavvi. It looks great and it is very tempting to buy the others, just on the packaging alone. It comes with two free documentaries. This is essentially Purvis and Wade talking giving a narrative history of when Spectre was featured and the running story line of the Craig era. Nice to listen to, but not that informative.

LTK Steelbook??
