I imagine that a villain will be staying here. Probably Bardem's character. It wouldn't make sense for an MI6 agent, or other MI6-allied character, to stay at a hotel in London.

What if the hotel was not an hotel per se but M´s flat, with a super pool and spa? Athough I do find your idea more feasible.

Since when is M filthy rich? Even if she were, I don't imagine she'd live an opulent, hedonistic lifestyle. It would contradict her hard-nosed character and make her way less sympathetic. And she's already "likability-challenged".

Assuming it's being used as a hotel in London.

The skyline through the window is pretty prominent. I suppose it could be doubling for the Chinese hotel or something, but I figured it was being used specifically because of its location.

M's home was implied to be in Canary Wharf in CASINO ROYALE, which is most likely to be a coincidence, but that was my first thought when Canary Wharf was mentioned as a location.

I do wonder if the bulk of the film is actually set in China but for logistical purposes they're shooting as much of that material on location here or in the studio - similar to how Ridley Scott approached Japan in Black Rain.

To own a pool like that says 'decadence and multimillionaire luxury' – that’s a villain in a Bond film not M.

Awesome! That's my gym! Shame I'm not in Canary Wharf on Thursday otherwise I'd go and check out the filming.

It has to be a London based scene. The skyline is even more obviously London now since the photos were taken on the previous page. The Shard is now very prominent, as is the Gherkin, unless they aren't filming at that angle, in which case why film there in the first place? The opposing angles are very boring, just looking out into a courtyard for the hotel

Agreed, the pool is just any other pool without the extraordinary view.
It’s an infinity pool, Deakins might be looking to get a few shots where its waters seem to merge with the waters of the Thames – that would look wonderful on screen.

It could be that it´s not necessarily her pool, just the condo complementary pool for residents. Besides, going by what we see of her appartment in both CR and QOS, I´d say she gets a good paycheck by the end of the month, or her hubby does. Eitherway, I suspect - nothing more then gut feeling - that it´s part of her condominium. We´ll see ;)

(Cover) - EN Movies - Daniel Craig has vowed to make a 'perfect' Bond movie even if it 'kills [him]'.

The British actor will make his third outing as the suave spy in the new movie Skyfall. He previously played James Bond in Casino Royal and Quantum of Solace.

Daniel is confident he can improve on the first two movies and is excited about the new script.

'There's a perfect Bond movie out there. And I'm going to find it if it kills me. Which it might. I have to be that way about it. The script that we have at the moment ' and this is not just actor hyperbole ' I'm genuinely excited about it,' he told the January issue of GQ magazine. 'There's a really good hook. In fact, we now have two or three really good hooks, two might work and that's what you want. That's what we had in Casino.'

Eh? I'm just saying: they've used a racecourse to double as an airport before.

Not sure what you think I meant as I'm a bit baffled by your reply...?

@marktmurphy:Sorry, I misunderstood.

No news today? Ok, I have one. Daniel Craig was staying at the Cavendish Hotel last week. They say he's great!
No idea where he is staying this week.

I don't understand... no one has even bothered to take a goddamn video? *sigh*

1) EON are notoriously good at keeping things under wraps. I can't recall any instances of shooting during QUANTUM OF SOLACE or CASINO ROYALE where video taken rom the shoots was leaked.

2) Did it occur to you that maybe the people involved in the shooting respect the film enough to enjoy keeping the secret?

The hotel could always be doubling for somewhere a little more exotic? e.g. Miami airport in CR being filmed in Prague and a British airfield.

When the view outside her apartment window suggests the apartment is in a highrise building.
