There was a rumour lately that perhaps he'll spot a beard in the film, but I'm not a real fan of this to be honest.

He's ex-Navy in other words.

I think these on-set photos during filming show it. He has the stubble in this particular scene:

I´ve always wanted for them to develop this on screen. I like it when they call him Commander Bond. Maybe have him command a group of men in a massive assault to a Villain´s lair? I know it´s been the wish of many fans over the years.
He's ex-Navy in other words.
He’s a Commander in the RNVR where the VR stands for Volunteer Reserve. I.e. he’s not actually in the Royal Navy but could be called-up in an emergency.
It's what they used to call the “Wavy Navy”.
It’s a rank he’s been given for cover and security reasons.

I like the way they handled Bond's naval background in the movies during the 60s, 70s and the 80s. He is Commander Bond. It gives the character another dimension.I´ve always wanted for them to develop this on screen. I like it when they call him Commander Bond. Exactly. Shows he has background and tells us something about his prep as an action person (see, was able to avoid saying "man" there, clever aint I?)I like the way they handled Bond's naval background in the movies during the 60s, 70s and the 80s. Since the first time seeing this photo, and looking at it again now that shirt Criag is wearing looks more like a pajama top. The style and look of it, just has that feel to it. It just don't look like a basic normal causal dress shirt. Once again Craig's hair is a little too short. I can't really tell he got the James Bond hair cut. Since it that short version of the James bond hair cut. Also when he sweets or gets his hair wet, it almost like his trying to spike his hair with gel or water. He should of tryed it not that short.

Agree about the hair. The trousers aren't too short, because they're slim. They'd be too short if they were wider; the idea is that they don't flap as you walk...

Slicked back wouldn´t be bad, or side-parted, but at least they can´t gel his hair if it´s that short. He´s not a 13 year old with spiked gelled hair, or a footballer for God´s sake. And you´re right. The guy can pull a crewcut, even with the hears. Can´t imagine Brosnan pulling of a crewcut, even with his own strange hears. BTW, should start a thread over Bond actor´s hears, they all look rather odd don´t they? lolAbout the hair:
The way I see it, at this point a crewcut is just Daniel Craig's style. It's all cool with me, although I wouldn't mind a return to a length of hair that could be side-parted or slicked back like the older Bonds did. Craig pulls off the crewcut though, probably better than anybody else in acting.

I'd think he'll shave off the stubble. Doesn't look good.

Not fond of OO7 sporting a beard. He looks like that crazy doctor guy in HOUSE.ah ah, quite right. Top and bottoms.

You talk about short pants?? Go back and watch Die Another Day. In the Los Organos sequence, just as Jinx is about to dive off of the clinic tower, check out the suit Pierce Brosnan is wearing. I swear it looks like he bought it off the rack at Utopia Dork.

I'll say this, I can't even see a crewcut version of the Jame Bond hair cut or style on Craig.
