Thoughts on Bonds look in Skyfall?

Thing is though, I've always wondered, how different the media reaction would be if Craig turned up at the Bond 6 announcement with short, styled hair. His Casino hair. He looked so much like Bond with that, than he did at the conference.

So, we've moved on from his hair colour to the thickness of his beard? How times change.
Clearly Bond needs to sport a full mountain man-style beard.

I'm in agreement, here. Never really liked Craig with long hair. I've always thought he was a great actor, and since he showed up at that press conference in 2005, I always thought he'd be a great Bond. I was full of praise for him since day one, but the one thing I couldn't stop thinking about was how awful his hair was. I hoped to god he'd get it cut and styled, which he did for the movie. Which I was really happy about.

Exactly. My reactions to the announcement were likewise. I supported him 100% after the first pic was released but still felt something was off. Then when the second pic came out, a recreation of the first with the new style, I was blown away. I had always wondered how the media would react to him differently had he came in with the Bond haircut. But, they probably hadn't come up with it yet. I wonder how they decided on it/ who's idea it was?

Agreed, guys. It works with Brosnan, but the longer hair goes against Craig's face and demeanour. He's a tough, out of the military kind of guy. Lean and mean. Sure, he gels his hair and it looks right, but I don't think he'd want to set high style trends with it. He'd just want his hair up off his face.
In fact, I think Brosnan works best with e big Goldeneye/Remington Steele hair. But I may be in the minority there....ok. Enough about other men's hair,
Suits. I'd like to see Tom Ford's new vision for this film. I wasn't a fan of Craig's press conference wardrobe and so I hope that isn't one of the suits (though Tom Ford does also dress Craig, I believe).
Well..Latham didn't take this conversation in a more masculine direction after all...

And on the subject of looks, thought the press shoot of Craig with the two Bond girls was dreadful. Mr. Stubble in the middle, flanked by two very greasy looking girls, one of whom looked like she hadn't bothered to comb her hair that day.

Craig was due to start filming within a day or two of the press conference. Since he's not a superhero (and the ability to grow a beard at will is not a very good superpower unless you're Chuck Norris), his look was obviously intention for the film. As for the girls, as far as we know, they have not started filming yet, so their look at the press junket doesn't mean anything.
Yes; they'll need time to grow their beards too.

Also, I wonder if Bond is posing as Fiennes character here? It might explain all the peculiarities. The extra short hair, the stubble...
I have to say though, whatever's going on I am fascinated.

Damn! I loved the black PO. Still wearing mine, and always will, brilliant watch. Still, that´ll be quite a light coloured Omega won´t it?
Dell Deaton, my friend, where are you mate? Any news on this?

Blimey! Sounds nice of course, but can you imagine what Ian Fleming's James Bond would have thought to buying a watch customised to match his eyes?.. Yea, that.

To me too. If true, this is serving purely the marketing angle. Bond should wear the usual PO and use it as a knuckle duster till it breaks, then switch to an Omega aqua-terra, which is more simpre and very similar to the original Fleming´s rolex. That would serve all marketing purposes and still be a nice homage, to OHMSS at least.Sounds like nonsense to me , , ,

Daniel Craig just presented an award at the British Independent Film Awards.... MINUS the beard. So that's good news. The short hair looks great.
Good intel, thanks

No, I should have taken a couple of screen captures from the live feed... but no doubt some proper pics will be online soon.Any pics?
I normally chuckle at the wild speculation about the Skyfall plot on these forums, since there's no way of knowing anything... but I'm about to speculate myself anyway: Maybe Bond is just chilling out at the beginning of the film, swimming, visiting the National Gallery, growing a beard... then has to shave when he's called back into action! Oh god listen to me. Who knows. I'm sure others have suggested that.

Anyway, Craig certainly won't be appearing with his (graying) stubble in this film, especially if it's Bond with a capital B.
