Will Bond 23 Be Titled SKYFALL?

Whilst I like POAL and HR as titles from the Fleming side of things, I did find myself opting for a one word title and liked the idea of it being like TB. The name of the operation. Either from MI6 or for the bad guys plot.
Oddly, it does tie in to a whisper in the wind I heard of not too long ago...Have to check on that.
*checks new iQ phone*
Hmmm...Mid September...
Anyway, I can live with it. Given the research and evidence above, I *think* we may have a winner.
The end of the month will be a year from the Premiere and the UK release. I suspect confirmation by then.
Settle in spies and spyettes...The rides about to begin.

007 Red Sky at Night
007 Skyfall
?!? Anyone else feeling there may have been some truth to it? And Bryce, is that the connection you´re making? Was it mid-september that that rumour first surfaced, or was it before? Cheers

And what about the OO7 logo using the word "O" in the Craig Era?

You can still flip the 7 on 007 to make the last L in Fall and then have the logo upside down right after the title: Skyfal700 Ok, maybe a bit too much.

It's misdirection, folks. Simply the Sony flacks trying to stir up buzz, while at the same time engaging in a shell game. And internet "news" sites are all too willing to fill their empty pages. Registering a pile of fake domain names costs mere pennies.
The real title is securely under wraps. You don't think EON would let it slip that easily and spoil all the fun, now do you?
Besides, with this being the 50th anniversary Bond film, the real title will have far more resonance than "Skyfall". Sounds more like a bad '80s-era TV show, than a James Bond film.
The real title of "Bond 23" will have a Fleming link for the 50th. Trust me.

I guess it'll be a grower.
Was expecting more of a shower
I agree that it sounds like a Gardner title.

Very reminiscent of SEAFIRE, which is a pretty lame title, too.I agree that it sounds like a Gardner title.

Loomers - ask yourself how you Might have reacted had you heard of the 21st Century Bond title of Goldfinger or Moonraker - had you heard them for the very first time.SKYFALL is an absolutely appalling title.
Like all Bond titles, they just need some time, some marketing, some heritage, some logo-d design around them to become firmly part of the canon.
I am sure when you hear the titles Goldfinger, you think of Gert Frobe; similarly Moonraker some ginger haired Drax. Both these titles have resonance outside of just the moniker.
Give it time.
As for me - great. Am sure it will fit in nicely.
However, I am inclined to agree with the above...The real title of "Bond 23" will have a Fleming link for the 50th. Trust me.

Hastening to add that my comment is about the rumour, rather than the title - which I rather like.
I suspect this may be a blind, but I have been wrong before. I expect to be wrong all the time. I have children.

GOLDFINGER would have probably had me a bit puzzled, but it's certainly distinctive. MOONRAKER, on the other hand, is elegantly strange. Both conjure up curious imagery and roll of the tongue pretty nicely. THUNDERBALL, GOLDENEYE... these also have that touch of the bizarre that makes a good Bond title. SHATTERHAND would have fit nicely in this set of one-word titles. To a lesser extent, so might have SHAMELADY.Loomers - ask yourself how you Might have reacted had you heard of the 21st Century Bond title of Goldfinger or Moonraker - had you heard them for the very first time.
SKYFALL seems pretty bland next to those titles.

What I like the most is that (if true) the producers aren't trying to stick a Fleming title onto a story that doesn't really fit.

I'm curious why they didn't register skyfall007.com/net/etc. and 007skyfall.com/net/etc. or even sky007fall.com/net/etc
No usage of 007. Seems like those could be taken by others, if they did use this title.

You're the first to say that, and I don't think that's true. The best Bond titles are evocative without any narrative context.A bit bland, but that's because we have nothing to associate with it.

Because those titles have an uncanny quality that SKYFALL lacks. Sure MOONRAKER, GOLDFINGER, OCTOPUSSY are all essentially meaningless, but they are nevertheless evocative, a kind of surrealist word poetry. SKYFALL doesn't offer that. In short, it's not strange enough. Not strange in the appealing way that SHATTERHAND or SHAMELADY are. It's not a trailblazing title, yeah, but I don't see how it's any less evocative than Moonraker, Goldfinger, or Octopussy.

2012 - Bond takes on Rupert Murdoch in, God help us, "SKY-fall". Think about it.
Seriously, is this really the title, or a distraction? A bit like the BBC supposedly sending finished tapes of Doctor Who from Cardiff to London under wrapping with the label, and anagram, "Torchwood".
(Though quite what the anagram of Skyfall works out as in terms of a Bond film title is beyond me!)
