Glad he's geeked for it, CR's script is a good read but with it's problems are more exposed on-screen. Mendes is a better director than Campbell, here's hoping the final product is a good 'un. :)

At least he hasn't pulled a Brosnan yet and publicly slagged off the last film.

Pierce, I love ya, but it got tiring hearing you talk down every film you did just to promote the next one.

Well if "classic Bond film" is the standard, the CR comparison makes sense and I can understand him wanting to get back to that. I liked the risks Forster took with QOS, nice thing is Craig was awesome in both films. B)

The latest bit of silliness that I've picked up is that an official Bond merchandise site is Tweeting that Daniel Craig 'hopes' Bardem and Fiennes are in; somehow, this means that they are in.

I'd bet they're in, simply cuz it's been so many months now without a denial. Where there's smoke... ;)

Guess both is true, but since he could't know at that time, that QOS would be less then satisfying, I believe, he was thrilled to have a director of Forsters calibre (who said, that DC was an important part in interesting him in the project, since they both wanted to go for the 60th look etc) on board.

If that's the case, then why can't the comments about the roles offered to Fiennes and Bardem be true?

I didn't MEAN to say, they can't and don't think, I did. Personally I believe, both are on board.

Or maybe it's because they've been negotiating for a while. After all, Bardem was attached to THE DARK TOWER and signed up for it, but then that broke down, so EON had start over.

I agree that nothing is "confirmed", but I expect Bardem is probably in, and they're just waiting to make a big, coordinated announcement. Looking at his future projects, there's absolutely nothing, not even rumors, except for Bond 23. I would expect an actor like Bardem to have quite a few things in the hopper. If he doesn't do Bond, then I guess he goes on vacation.

Well, yes, I daresay they want to drop the title of the films, the identities of big-name actors and basic plot all at once, but given that EON is notoriously tight-lipped - we don't find anything out until EON are ready for it to be found out - we can't really afford to make any assumptions. Especially if they can be proven wrong.

As long as we're saying things that will be proved wrong, here's another prediction: the title, the main cast, and the title singer will be announced on the 26th of next month. One year before the release date. That would be logical. They'd make an announcement, and fans could immediately begin counting down the days.

Some kind of official statement is not that improbable, since shooting will start in November (at least, that´s what the rumors say...)

Title? Hmm, they notoriously wait for that. Singer? Same situation. But the main cast will probably be announced, along with the locations and a short and completely useless summary of the plot (which I love because I don´t want to know too much about the plot before watching the film).

Looks like another confirmation for them and an audio about creating a new look with tom Ford.

So that's Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Javier Bardem, Ben Wilshaw and Naomi Harris. Bond 23 looks set to be brilliant!

Maybe a more classic Bond feel? No more casual look? Bond wearing suits, etc.

I´d certainly love that. And at least one tuxedo scene, please. :D

But apart from his dress code - could DC have meant that he also changed something about his portrayal of Bond?

I´m still wondering what Zorin meant in his post about the next logical step (and it would not involve M)...

WOO Tom Ford is back. Exciting. Interesting comments, I have absolutely no clue what that could mean. What does "new look" imply? Probably less casual as has been implied. Either way, Tom Ford being involved is great news. His suits fit Dan better than the Brioni ones. Much more form fitting.

Also I don't think the casting reported earlier in the piece holds much weight, really just sort of regurgitating what others have said regarding the cast.

I'm not trying to be the fun police. I just don't want people to be disappointed. I've seen it happen before - people convince themselves that something will happen, even when there is no confirmation, or even reason to believe there will be. And then, when the time comes for the cast to be announced and key players (ie Bardem) are not present, it all goes to hell in a handbasket. I for one would love to see Bardem in a Bond film; for all the accusations that Babs is simple Oscar-baiting, she is really trying to make the best film that she can, and the presence of people like Bardem and Fiennes would be a major step towards (dare I say it) making BOND 23 a high point of the franchise, the standard by which a lot of Bond films will be judged. But I don't want to get too carried away in the talk that they will be in the film, and nor do I want others to get swept up in the speculation because they're only going to get disappointed. And worse, there are people out there who will take it very poorly and start accusing EON of robbing them of something that had never been promised in the first place (not that they'll acknowledge it). I don't think anyone here will do it, but I've seen it happen before and sometimes they go out of their way to make everyone's lives a living hell. This is the best Bond-related forum on the internet; we don't need somethine like that dragging us down. So excuse me if I preach caution; I'm only thinking of everyone in the long term.

I get that. But maybe give folks some credit for learning, like you have? The constant reminders there's been no offical confirmation of, well, anything is redundant to say the least (cuz, like, we all know that already, right? ;) ).

Rumor talk will always be with us, it's all we have most of the time between films.

Where's the Ben Whishaw rumour come from? If true, my money would be on him playing the Q type of role (if there is one).

Pretty sure the Ben Whishaw rumor was conjured out of thin air, along with Rhys Ifans, based solely on the fact that they once shared the screen with Craig.

Am I the only one who finds it strange that all the recent pictures of Craig have him wearing hats? Take a look: http://justjared.buz...s/daniel-craig/ And it looks like his hair is really short on the sides, doesn´t it? Does this new style Bond means a shaved head or something? Hope not, but isn´t the guy suppose to start filming soon? Oh well, I guess it´s just lack of real news, but the hat thing is strange...right? Every single time :dizzy:

I think the Whishaw (and possibly the Ifans) rumour came out of a quote attributed to Sam Mendes at the San Diego Comic Con. Latino Review initially reported it as rumour, but then someone picked it up and ran it as something Mendes had allegedly said at the convention. Whether or not Mendes was actually there, and whether or not he actually said it are open to debate at this point.

What was he promoting Richard III the graphic novel? The sensational follow up to Richard II. Or perhaps he was just there on his day off, getting down with the kids.

I bet you cannot provide one link to any journalist quoting Sam Mendes and saying he was at Comic Con.

But that's the point - he wasn't at Comic Con. From the looks of things, the rumour started at Comic Con. Sam Mendes had been commenting on BOND 23 that same day. Somewhere early in the process of reporting, the two stories got merged into one, and it was repeated several times over. This, I think, is the offending story.

It looks like this and with about 4 weeks to go until shooting, its gonna be fine - at least not "monk hair" like as in QOS. That was terrible. ;)
