3 Bond Girl 2 (Minor ie Tilly Masterson/Aki): Raquel Welch as Easy Phillips, FBI Agent undercover in the Vigeaux/LaFiera 'cult' (to be introduced as "Hello, I'm Easy". Cue raised eyebrow, and "But of course you are/ I never would have guessed/ There's no doubt about that", etc etc)

4 Bond Girl 3 (Background Girl - Dink/Ling):

5 Henchman (a la Oddjob): Arnold Schwarzenegger as Heinrich Schwartz, German "knight" with great affection for two-handed swords.

6 Villain 1: Marlon Brando as Vincenzo LaFiera.
7 Villain 2: Armand Assante as John Vigeaux, a young, French-descended blueblood with religious convictions as strong as the belief in his own money.

8 M: Bernard Lee
9 Moneypenny: Lois Maxwell
10 Q: Desmond Llewelyn

11 Ally 1: Clifton James as J.W. Pepper

Re: Locations - no repeat locations are permitted

12 Pre-Titles Location:
13 Location 1: Montreal/Quebec, Canada (Vigeaux's 'birthplace' and seat of power)
14 Location 2: Schloss Neuschwanstein, Germany.
15 Location 3: Iran
16 Location 4: Gropius House, Lincoln, Massachusetts
17 Location 5: The Great Barrier Reef (I'm speculating that LaFiera has a Ken Adams designed lair - something on the scale of the Atlantis, but submersible and mobile [the 'Nautilus' anyone?] - and that the final assault would be on it; this could also be the Pinewood Set that Marlon Brando 'agreed' all of his scenes would take place on)

KEY PLOT POINTS

18 Villains Plot: The villain has aquired a pair of nuclear missiles and intends to aim them at the terminator line on the moon, the point where the light side of the moon ends and the dark side begins. An explosion over the terminator line would be back-lit by the sun, making the explosion visible to every single human being on earth. The villain plans to do this in order to increase their sphere of influence over humankind (I know CT has some more ideas about this - but some of those would influence other fields so he can voice the rest of his concept later once the other fields are filled in).

19 Pre-Title Sequence Stunt: (Taken from an early draft of "LALD"): James Bond meets an old man in a garden at night. The man hands over a pair of special contact lenses. They are disturbed by the approach of enemy agents and Bond tries to help the man escape by assisting him over a high wall that surrounds the garden. However, Bond discovers that the garden is in fact on the top of a very high building and his contact falls to his death.
20 Major Stunt 1: Bond gains entry to Vigeaux's inner circle by taking part in a catamaran race in Quebec (styled after the GOLDFINGER golf game, but Bond is partnered with VIgeau'x crew rather than competing against him). Bond, on the trapeze, ends up capsizing the catamaran into an icy river after a risky move for the lead fails and they crash into a pier. Bond and Vigeaux both end up in the river with the remains of the destroyed catamaran. Vigeaux finds this outrageously funny, and invites Bond to join him at a black tie gala dinner that evening as he is impressed with Bond's willingness to take a risk even when the odds are heavily stacked against him; had Bond succeeded, their catamaran would have won the race. That night, Bond meets LaFiera for the first time at the ball. Bond makes an excuse to dance with Samantha Pole, using an energetic tango around the room to pick out the rest of LaFiera's people without arousing suspicion.
21 Major Stunt 2:
22 Major Stunt 3:
23 Major Stunt 4:
24 Finale Stunt: Bond is able to prevent the launch of the missile from the villain's base off the coast of Australia (the base is here because it offers the clearest shot at the Terminator Line). Meanwhile, the villain is preparing himself for a very public appearance before his followers somewhere else in anticipation of the event. However, it never happens - Bond stops the launch by sabotaging the launch controls. The missile drifts off-course and detonates just beyond the edge of space. Bond never actually kills the villain; the villain simply loses all credibility before his folowers, becoming Nostradamus-like in his failed prediction of the event.

27 Gadget 2: A pair of special contact lenses, used by Bond to see infrared wavelengths being generated by the captured missiles.

LaFiera supervises the brainwashing - but Easy Phillips, an FBI agent (should that be CIA agent?) who has infiltrated the cult slips white-sound inducing ear-plugs into Bond's ears to block out the hypnotic suggestions. The encounter is still terrifying (think of the Moonraker centrifuge scene for something of how I'm picturing the scene).

So that's all of our cast and all but one of our locations - just need a few more stunts before we can begin to fully flesh out what could be an interesting movie.

I added Major Stunt 4, and shoehorned JW Pepper into it (he'll be used in the Gropius House sequence rather than Germany)

1 Bond - Roger Moore

2 Bond Girl 1 (Main ie Pussy Galore/Kissy): Vanessa Redgrave as Samantha Pole, descendant of the Plantagenet dynasty and fiancee of John Vigeaux.

4 Bond Girl 3 (Background Girl - Dink/Ling): Sybil Danning as Livia, a nude model Bond befriends in (possibly) Germany.

12 Pre-Titles Location: A casino in Nairobi, Kenya

21 Major Stunt 2: Bond is knocked out in Quebec and transported to West Germany where he is manhandled into a chair, hooked up to IV drips which pump him full of brainwashing drugs.
22 Major Stunt 3: Bond and Heinrich, both dressed in a full suit of armour (Bond may have initially put his on as a disguise) and wielding swords, engage in a brutal duel in and around Neuschwanstein. The assembled tourists initially think it's all part of the experience, until Bond manages to throw Heinrich from the castle walls, landing - possibly - on top of an obese Southern sheriff.
23 Major Stunt 4: At Gropius House, Bond joins a tour group, and sneaks off to discover a secret passageway leading to the villain's lair underneath the house, where he finds the Big Plans for World Domination ™. But getting back out proves to be rather difficult, as the villain has placed deathtraps all throughout the underground; Bond must deal with poison gas, swinging blades, pressure switches and other fiendish devices. (Perhaps the as yet unannounced gadget #3 will prove handy in surviving one of these).
Bond's only hope for escape is to use a two-way radio he found amongst the villain's plans. He calls out on it, and receives an unusual answer...for upstairs, a certain tourist has wandered away from the main group in search of the bathroom, and has blundered into a secret office with the house blueprints on display. Yes, it's everyone's favourite Louisiana Sheriff, JW Pepper! (Dragged reluctantly on this tour by Maybelle). He uses the blueprints to guide Bond out to safety, whilst engaging in his trademark witty observations.

Yes we can make her CIA, if we're using her outside of the US. I just made her FBI because Moonraker already used Holly Goodhead as a CIA Agent (not that Moonraker has actually happened yet in this timeline :dizzy: )

Agh - was just scribbling out how I envisaged the plot flowing and that throws a spanner in the works. I was just using the Gropius House as a 'this is the sort of building we want' - not necessarily that we needed to use the actual building. Oh well, therein lies the fun of the game, I suppose.

And yes - we do have Holly as a CIA Agent, but that's not for another four years (oh the metafictional aspects of this game!).

Well obviously I've pissed off Mr.Blofeld by not doing what he wanted with his location, but I don't think killing JW Pepper is really in the spirit of a Roger Moore film.

I'm not sure whether the killing of Pepper was mentioned initially as a joke and has since been taken literally!

I don't think we should be assuming that the submission was in retaliation for anything though.

I think somebody else wanted Pepper dead by the end of the movie... so, done! :P

Also, it wasn't that, dino; the house was a private residence, at the time, so I intended it to be Vigeaux's private residence -- it'd be even weirder than the secret weapons lab just to the side of the Venona Glass tour in Moonraker. :S

Weirder? Or perfectly in keeping with the Roger Moore era?

I didn't say it couldn't be his private residence. But being a Bond villain, he'd be arrogant enough to let the unsuspecting public wander around it to marvel at the architecture, feeding his ego, while his Secret Plans are right underneath their feet.
Let's not forget that in the two films following this one, we have Stromberg who invites Bond aboard the Liparus - the very place he's keeping the stolen nuclear sub that Bond is looking for; then Drax invites Bond to his estate, where some of his secret plans are available to be discovered. This is what Moore villains do.

Well said, dino. :)

Just wondering--Since we've all had four turns and there's two fields still open, are the last two fields fair game for anyone to submit? I don't have a specific idea in mind, but some sort of submersible vehicle might make sense to use in place of Bond's car--remember, this is pre-"TSWLM", and Moore's Bond didn't yet have a 'signature car' in either "LALD" or "TMWTGG".

The 'possibly' in my last submission was in reference to Pepper dying, not his actual presence at Neuschwanstein, which I thought we'd already agreed on. I didn't know whether I could get away with killing him off so I left it up in the air depending on people's reaction. Mr Blofeld, for one, seems in favour. If killing off the (supposed) comic relief is deemed a bit much for a Moore film, having armoured-Arnold fall on top of him could just knock him for six.

If we want the unwitting public to be standing on top of the villain's secret lab at Gropius House, why not have Vigeaux throw a party there? Maybe Bond needs Samantha's help to get in, or from there into the secret lair. At this point Vigeaux could also realise she's betrayed him.

I think we'll need to discuss whether Pepper is killed or not - it does seem a bit distasteful. Though I do like the idea of using him in West Germany.

This is what Moore villains do.

In my sketch of the plot, I had Bond walking into the villa and the lounge descending on runners into a cavern underneath the house (I made the note it would be like the volcano cavern in YOLT, but it could be more like the inside of the Liparus - or a mix between the two). I'm sure we could combine the ideas.

If the consensus is there, I'd be happy to do that.

How about the gunmetal gray Bentley?

A Bentley would be cool.

Got another epic (even if I do say so myself) idea for UB-Dalton, this time for the villain. Or at least a villain.

Well, keep it 'hush hush' for the moment :D

I thought we had agreed on Pepper being in West Germany on a tour of German castles - as said above, not sure about killing him off.

A party instead of a tour - that sounds a bit more plausible than having it an actual museum.

I'm still reading this guys. Such imagination ! :) Keep it up. Been gone a while.
Who came up with the name Summer Long ? It's cute.

Here is how I'm picturing the PTS -

GUN BARREL OPENS ON

An expansive wooden hotel somewhere in the ABERDARE NATIONAL PARK in Kenya (modelled on the Treetops Hotel) where Bond is sat behind a canvas in a bedroom. He's painting the voluptuous curves of a beautiful blonde South African woman called Livia - LITERALLY painting her, running the paintbrush across her skin, down her firm stomach and across her thighs. It's very sensual - but done in an ever-so PG fashion.

LATER - with Bond and the woman enjoying a cleansing shower together, the phone rings and a voice informs Bond that his guest will meet him in the garden. Bond dresses, heads to the garden - it is night, the moonlight filtering down through the branches of trees and illuminating the flowers. Beautiful. Bond meets with his contact, George (Michael Sheard), and takes custody of some information - but a complication arises and the two men fight in the garden. George thinks he's got the advantage and flees - opens a door in the wall ...

And PLUNGES TO HIS DEATH. Bond looks down through the open doorway as a lion advances on the contacts injured body - "What's the matter, George, cat got your tongue?"

On the roar of the lion, we SMASH CUT TO (titles)

No surprise here that you nailed the tone of the Moore Era. It was an interesting take on the idea originally conceived for "LALD"--using Livia in the PTS and re-locating it to Africa makes it quite distinct from what I submitted. A real testament to the collaborative spirit.

Glad you like it. I'm sure there's room for a scene between the painting and the roof-garden confrontation, something like the bit in TSWLM with the theft of the nuclear submarine or in MR with the destruction of the jumbo. This should be tied into the overall plot somehow, but I'm not sure exactly how to tie it in as yet.

The Moore title sequences went through a period of genericness with TSWLM and MR - after an interesting title sequence in LALD and another pretty generic one in TMWTGG. It depends which path people would want the title sequence to go down - interesting or Moore-esque generic.

Also - 'Shoot the Moon' as a title? It works in the context of the plot and it could be used by Bond and M to describe how the villain is risking everything to achieve his goal.

I like the title "LUNACIDE" as well. Nice, one-word title amidst a string of somewhat wordy titles, very menacing sounding and incorporates the 'lunar' element without being too overt about it.
