That's the closest I can get.
And that's not bad considering I didn't think I could do it at all.

On that note (pardon the pun) any chance you could try some cues from Spy Who Loved Me?

Fine job once again!
A few things for improvements:
- Triangle/tambourine rhythm is wrong. Instead of two 16th notes followed by an 8th note, it's simply a pattern of an 8th note rest, followed by an 8th note. Like 'oompah oompah stick it up your jumper.'
- String motif in the first 4 bars needs more expression and harmonics, less watery, and should be doubled with bassoons.
- I'm not aware of the low Pos/Tba stabs n my rip (first 4 bars), only the strings, clarinets, bassoons, harp, bass pizz, triangle, and tambourine, I only thought they came in the recapitulation of theme at bar 26. When Jaws dives after Bond.
- All trumpets are playing the Bond fanfare melody, none are doing the quarter note figure with horns, clarinets and bassoons.
- The kick drum and low Bs in the chordal motif at bar 13 are too late. Should hit in earlier. For this I'd suggest a slight increase in tempo, or something similar. There's also too much of a gap between bar 14 and 15. Should be more like a sudden spasm.
- In bar 18, have 2 harps play the glissandi in contrary motion (one goes up while the other down), and subside too soon. I also can't hear the suspended cymbal roll.

Hm, actually, that's what I was doing. I only recorded the tambourine, the rest is the original recording.

Again, it is doubled by bassoons

Sounds like I need to adjust the mix ...

Need to listen again. I took them for granted lol
- In bar 18, have 2 harps play the glissandi in contrary motion (one goes up while the other down), and down subside as quickly. I also can't hear the suspended cymbal roll.
Suspended cymbal? Where?
I was already wondering why there was no cymbal or something.

At bar 18. Again, it could be the wind - but I pretty sure it's there.

Great job! It may not be perfect, but the essence of the music is right there.
Something I noticed: in the phrase that begins at 0:49, the fourth note (a C) is too short. The second time said phrase is played it's the fifth note (a B ) that is short. I've got the feeling you already know this and it was a compromise you were forced to make, but I felt I should point it out, just in case.

Actually, I thought it sounded great. No compromise.

Cues 25 and 29 are versions of Flight into space, so I'd say they're not that interesting.
The main unreleased and yet unrerecorded cues are 15, 16 and 26. (3 can be easily sourced from DVD)
I always loved the carnival music and always have thought they were by Barry, after all he composed all the source cues for DAF too. But I can understand it if you give priority to the actual dramatic film score.
I really feel cue 26, "Zero G" is still missing from your great Moonraker rerecording project. Part of it features a choir but I think you can source that from dvd. You can listen to it here, it starts at 1.36: http://www.myvideo.d...Moonraker_11_12

25 is a foreshadowing of Space Laser Battle.

I actually starts at 1:22, when Bond sights the emergency stop lever.

Isn't there another cue which is a variation of Corinne / Miss Goodhead meets Bond? Where Bond tells Corinne she has a heart of gold, this version ends with an eerie piece as we see Chang watching Bond.

The Corinne/Goodhead theme comes around twice during the scenes at the château. The first piece is unreleased but almost identical to what's heard on the OST album, except that it's shorter. The second piece (with the "eerie" bit) IS on the album.
Check out both versions here: http://www.myvideo.d..._Moonraker_3_12
The first starts at 3.48, the second at 6.37.
(Sorry for the German dub, but it's the only version I could find online)

Thanks for finding this Leo. It was the second piece I was thinking of. I don't remember the short piece as Bond takes the photos being on the album.
Hard to think we nearly have a complete Moonraker thanks to GK. Great stuff.

Sounds great. Have you got about 2=3 trombones doubling the horn line? I think the low piano needs to be brought out a tiny bit.
I thought so, too.
Well, this uses part of the DVD rip, so if Barry used them, there should be trombones. But if you think they should be brough out more, I'll gladly do that.
But I'll go over some cues again anyway. I still need to correct the flute/clarinet line from Venini Glass Works, ditch the drums from the Drax Shuttle Launch etc.

Frankly, I'll finish Moonraker now. The only thing left is the "Destroying the Globes" (assuming it is not tracked), and the Zero Gravity cue.

I don't like how your Drax Shuttle Launch recreation currently sounds. Trombones are too snarling. The 8 horns, tuba, piano, basses, celli and low winds (i.e. contrabassoon, bassoon, and bass clarinet) should be brought out more. I think there's also a large/low tam-tam there too, though it's very low in the mix.
I'm also not sure if you've got the notes of the Veni Glass motif right.

What about the Corinne cues?
I'm fairly certain the Globes one is tracked. Probably one of the cases where Barry had already recorded the score, and they realised that the climax didn't feel quite right without music, so they tracked in an alternative take of "Flight into Space."

I didn't, that's why I'm fixing it

Also, I must say that I rarely listened to the Raine recording of the Freefall music, but I did on the way home today, and could it be that his orchestration is pretty far away from the original?

Yes. Sometimes he does get it right, which is more frequent in Volume 2, but that's mostly in the AVTAK and TLD re-recordings - the two Bond scores that he orchestrated on.
As for his freefall orchestration, the trombone's are far too loud, and there's the electric bass that's not to be found in MR. Except of course the title song and its end credits disco remix.

He's gotta prepare a women's chorus and a Moog synthesiser for that.
