This review enforces my point:
http://gameinformer....gone-rogue.aspx
This review applauds blood stones Bond aesthetic, but criticises the driving. Literally the complete opposite of the IGN review.
Unfortunately, I have to wait until Friday to form my own opinion.

exactly the game deserves at least a 7 or an 8 out of 10That IGN review of Blood Stone is outrageous. If you like the Daniel Craig films, you will love this game. The take downs are fun and the driving is challenging and exciting. Only halfway through Istanbul but I'm loving it. A 5 is absolutely ridiculous.

That's the problem I have right now with what I am reading about the duration. I have not played the game yet (I've still not opened it). Given the price tag, if it only take 4-5 hours to complete, I don't know how I can justify keeping it. I might just return it and wait until the price goes down...I've played and beat bloodstone now and it amazing its like the Arkum ASylum of Bond.

It's not in the intro credits.
Please tell me where the barrel is! Mmmm perhaps BloodStone will be Daniel Craig's first "proper" Bond film!
I'm dealing with Trevalyen right now, talk later lol

gameplay is mediocre; the real treat here is the story, complete with film-worthy diologue.
before this game came out I knew that the only reason i was getting it was because it was under the bond license; my opinion still remains. Note: I Hate 3rd person shooters, particularly for a bond game

In Siberia right now... As stated the dialogue is top notch. I'm loving the story so far!

Is the controller layout mediocre? Or the way the game feel (unresponsive controls, aiming, fighting, etc.)?Gameplay is mediocre
I dont want to compare a 3rd person shooter to a 1st/3rd person shooter, but anyway

Glad to hear that!the real treat here is the story, complete with film-worthy dialogue.

I dont want to compare a 3rd person shooter to a 1st/3rd person shooter, but anyway, how does it compare to Quantum of Solace considering only the gameplay? Is it more enjoyable? Is there any challenge?
i recall getting a little annoyed when i was learning the controls but they arn't too bad. camera was a little annoying too, but i mentioned already how i hate 3rd person shooters. i liked Qos's cover system better, a few times in this game i had trouble getting in and out of cover and the ability to move from cover to cover is limited. i'm beating levels at a similar pace to Qos. I still havn't finished from russia with love because the levels just wern't very fun to me, the fun level in BS is maybe a few notches above so it's playable and some levels may be worth replaying, although some of the on foot segments had me getting bored.
the driving levels were perhaps better than the ones in the EA games in terms of exciting and visually stimulating moments, but they are very linear and in cramped quarters. For me, there is nothing more fun that being able to just floor it and made some nice wide turns with out having to worry. these levels have alot of places where you can't afford to go fast because you will not be able to turn and will fall into a lake or something; unless you slow down and carefully make the turn, which is just not bond enough for my tastes. if you can memorize all the spots in a level where you need to turn in a certain way it will be fun but first runs can be frustrating.I don't have a terribly large TV so i'm not sure if others are having this problem but I have had alot of trouble being able to see bodies of water in the driving stages until i'm halfway sinking into one.
sounds like i'm bashing the game alot huh? from a bond perspective its a fun game with a great script and stunning visuals, but aside from that? a fogettable game.

Okay Bryan, have fun.
Very upset to hear about IGN's review. Ah well, as long as I enjoy it that's really all that matters. 5 hours of gameplay though, that's just pitiful.

From your comments, it seems that the game is enjoyable and have some let down. As a Bond fan, I will try it for sure

Anyone notice when the cut scene comes from leaving the Casino to get in the car with Nicole, Bond is magically wearing a blue 3 piece suit rather than his dinner jacket? Than the next scene is back to tux.
I noticed that too. Laughed out loud - how do you miss an error like that?
Overall, first impressions are better than expected.
In terms of atmosphere, design, scope, realism, and music (wow!), this might as well be a Craig film. If you're considering it strictly as a game, there's absolutely revolutionary. It feels exactly like Arkham Asylum, but with driving levels. It's also, far as I'm concerned, incredibly easy.
But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't enjoying it thus far. Just starting Siberia now!
