Wow. I've been so busy gushing over how brilliant GoldenEye is shaping up that I kinda stopped watching this one after the decidedly 'meh' trailers. But the improvement over the first demo footage is simply staggering. It looks lovely, the character models are looking a lot less creepy and it's shaping up to the first Bond game to actually be third person for a reason beyond avoiding comparison to GoldenEye. Also, it has an actualy gameplay system and telented developers behind it, so looking good.
Only remianing concerns- it does look very generic. I'd be a shame if it turned out to be licensed Spliter Cell knock-off no. 5800000000000.
Brice Fierstien has yet to write a decent Bond story solo. The generic 'stolen weapons' plot and the Brosnan-era look of the whole thing make me wonder if the game will reflect how different the Craig era is, beyond some harder fight scenes.
So, both games looking very promising. Activison are good developers and QOS could have been great if it wasn't such a rush job, and they did a pretty good job with what they made, so with the added time and oomph, could we finally be up for another decent Bond game after fourteen years? And TWO at once? Things are looking good. If if third person Bond STILL doesn't take we still have GoldenEye.
Cautiosly optimistic.
