I will ask him next week. And if he doesn't take a photo with me I'll have him served in an egg cup!

Which location? Just wondering.

Hope we're going to get intel from members as we did with the U.S. tour. Here's the latest schedule. Let's get CBners at some of these stops.

I have the opportunity to attend either the talk in Birmingham 29th or the signing in Southampton 30th.
Can I be so naive as to ask:-
Which type of event would CBn'rs who have attended recommend.
Will Mr. Deaver sign books at an evening do?
Do we get the chance to chat at a signing?

I'm presuming the talk will also be a signing, so I'd go to that. It's during the talk, and the Q&A, that he'll chat about Bond.

I might catch him at The Grand Hotel on Mackinac, depending on price (The Grand being a very aptly named hotel, that's about what it costs to stay there, depending on the room.)

I live only 7 hours away so it's a shame I don't have the funds to make that trip. :(

Hopefully he comes to Ohio during his next U.S. book tour.

Still irritated that I can't make the Preston talk and will need to just go to the signing - still, I presume there will be a tour for Project X so will make a point to go to a talk for that should he do them.

I'm going to the Southampton signing on Friday.
If Terminus doesn't ask about Felix I will.

Although I do have a rather brilliant question to ask!!!

I will try. Was hoping to combine it with a cinema trip to go and see Inception, but my friend's mother is flying on Wednesday now and my friend needs to take her to the airport. So, whilst I may go to the signing, I won't be going to see Inception.

He was just on STV's "The Hour" programme this evening. He spoke mainly about the start of his career, The Bone Collector, and then his newest book, The Burning Wire. They did briefly touch on him writing the next Bond novel, but nothing else was revealed that we didn't already know.

You can see the interview here:

http://player.stv.tv...10-07-26-1700/#

Click on "Part 3" on the side, and go to about 1:10 into the video.

Well - my bag is all packed, found out the book didn't cost as much as I thought it did as well (the place that are holding the signing seem to be selling it for half-price) so just have to hope they've not sold out when I get there. My camera is charged up and I've got Garden of Beasts in my satchel too.

Hopefully there won't be a big line so I can have a nice chat with him.

Back from the Manchester signing - there weren't as many people as I had expected, it must've been over and done with in an hour. But then, he does have a signing in Nottingham (iirc) tonight at six-thirty so they mustn't have wanted it to be too lengthy. I got The Burning Wire and Garden of Beasts signed. I told him that I'd picked up Garden of Beasts because of Project X but that I was also reading The Sleeping Doll and thoroughly enjoying them both, that I expected I would enjoy Project X as much. I was a bit awed by him - so didn't manage to get any new information on Project X out of him. When I said that I'd read GoB because of Project X, he told me that he'd been signed up for Project X because of GoB and that Project X would be more stylistically reminiscent of that than of The Sleeping Doll - he also said that Ursula Andress was his favourite Bond Girl and asked me whom mine was, and I told him it was Grace Jones/May Day because I'd grown up watching AVTAK.

Thoroughly nice chap, all told. Sorry, though, righty - didn't manage to get in an enquiry about Felix.

Thanks. It was quite exciting meeting him - don't think there's anything that he said that wasn't already generally known, but it's nice to see he's quite enthused about the project. Oh, and he had a bottle of Coca Cola to drink as you can see, which was amusing to note.

I was lucky enough, to have a good 5 minute chat with Mr. Deaver (much to the chagrin of those waiting)
We spoke of the challenges of writing the Lincoln Rhyme character.
THEN
I mentioned Commanderbond .net and my 'friend' Charlie Axworthy (he immediately referred to the Zencat and Bryce encounter)
...and then we were away on Project X
Mr. Deaver divulged that a lot of research had gone into XBond's new bio; the history into getting Bond into the 00 section. He confirmed that XBond will be a dark complicated character in true Fleming style. I asked if we could expect other Fleming characters to cement the story. e,g Leiter
He replied that he was aware of the desire of the fan base to refer to the past, whilst accepting the 'reboot'. He smiled and said "You won't be disappointed".
My friend then asked; if he would be writing a number of Bond books. To which he replied; he had only been asked to do one.

For those lucky enough to have met Jeffery Deaver; you all know what a great guy he is. Easy going, with a quick wit.

For those who couldn't make this time round; well you better hope he's going to do a Project X tour.

I for one look forward to meeting Mr. Deaver again next May
