Eon have done a great job of keeping this under wraps, i just wish the'd announced it much longer ago. Great Fleminiscent feel to it ( BTW, that Ian Fleming show is on tonight ).
I just made what has to be the first fan-rendering of the what the title could look, like if written in the Tomorrow Never Dies font. Here it is, im working on a much better version, which i'll replace this with, when i get the chance.

Live to... "Die Another Day", a nice twist on the old "live to fight another day" maxim. I guess they dropped the "Live to" because they didn't want another 5 world title, and DAD actually flows better by itself. Of course the entire phrase will be used in the film, I wonder if by Bond or the villian? It actually fits Bond's philosophy of life quite well.

"Die another day" has something strong in it though, and I'm sure it will grow on me. A little disappointed though, because "die" is a word that has been quite frequently in Bond titles. Well... it's still better then "Never die forever" :-)

I like DAD.
It's a good Bond title. And I will personally come and slap anyone who ever mentions that Bond 21 will be called 'Beyond The Ice'. Face it people BTI is, was, and always will be an Eon red herring.

Blofeld's Cat (13 Mar, 2002 12:34 a.m.):
I just remembered a song by Dream Theater called Another Day and while it is a little too heavy (but very melodic) for a Bond the lyrics are very appropriate I feel and could be sung to suit a Bond movie
Great minds think alike :-)

I second the motion.zencat (17 Mar, 2002 06:48 p.m.):
I'm not sure that's true. Seems most of us feel the title is more than just "okay." Personally I think it's a darn good Bond title (and I don't think it would be improved with the addition of "To").firefox (17 Mar, 2002 06:35 a.m.):
There seems to be a general opinion that DAD is an "OKAY" title, but nothing to get excited about.
But it would be nice to somehow take a poll. In fact, some kind of monthly or weekly poll might be a very nice new feature for CBN. Dave? Daniel?

BTW, will they still use that teaser image they showed at that conference where they had a list of titles. (The one with a gun pointing towards you on a block of ice). I hope so, it sounds good.
I don't think adding "To" to the start will make it better as the script probably has a reason for the title to be missing the "To". It takes the meaning away from a person.

Anyway, other people obviously see the correlation. This comes from E! Online: And before you ask, no, we don't know how one can "die another day" if, assuming another day is tomorrow, "tomorrow never dies."

As for the title itself, I love it, I really do. As others have pointed out, its a play on a familiar phrase, plus it really feels different then The World is Not Enough, which is a good thing. I think every title should be totally different then the title proceeding it.

given the production launch release stating that the story would start in the Korean DMZ and continue via Hong Kong,
Cuba, London and eventually back to where it all began, those who lament the passage of BEYOND THE ICE as a title must surely realize how NARROW it would have been. I'm willing to bet that ICE locations will amount to less than 30 mins of the movie. As Vic Armstrong said the ice chase is merely the climax of the middle of the movie.
DIE ANOTHER DAY, a pleasent surprise, is more Bondian for sure and could work on more than one level.
we have to remember, as far as MULTIPLE WORD titles go we havent had a TOUCHABLE INANNIMATE OBJECT in a title since the early 70s (DIAMONDS are forever & The man with the golden GUN) and this current title continues that tradition.
and bond is nothing without TRADITION

It's similar to Nobody Does It Better in that the title is only mentioned once.....
"Another Day" (04:22)
- John Petrucci
Live another day
Climb a little higher
Find another reason to stay
Ashes in your hands
Mercy in your eyes
If you're searching for a silent sky....
You won't find it here
Look another way
You won't find it here
So die another day
The coldness of his words
The message in his silence,
"Face the candle to the wind..."
This distance in my voice
Isn't leaving you a choice
So if you're looking for a time to run away...
You won't find it here
Look another way
You won't find it here
So try another day
They took pictures of our dreams
Ran to hide behind the stairs
And said maybe when it's right for you, they'll fall
But if they don't come down
Resist the need to pull them in
And throw them away
Better to save the mystery
Than surrender to the secret
You won't find it here
Look another way
You won't find it here
So try another day

DIE ANOTHER DAY
DIE ANOTHER DAY
DIE ANOTHER DAY
It's certainly growing on me really fast.
I was starting to be resigned to BTI, but this is much better.
I've come straight here so apologies if I'm repeating others above me.
My immediate reaction? Thank God they didn't go with something with "ice", "cold", or "frozen" in it. Just because the movie will have those things in it I felf it was just a small part of Bond 20 and unworthy of a title.
My second reaction? At last there is a title!
But I really love this title, even though it sound like a sequel to Tomorrow Never Dies.
I checked on allmusic.com and cdnow.com and can't find another song with that title, and AudioGalaxy doesn't have one either.
Love it, love it, love it!
Now I have to change my sig.
