I think it's much better than the Alicia Keys song. I love the movie but the songs sucks(!). I like this one although tonally it doesn't work with the imagery.

I really like this theme. Beats the legit one to death with a carpet beater.

I think that's terrible, actually.

Heard it again...now I really LOVE it. B)

You forget one thing. Bond fans...are more biased than ordinary cinema go-ers who aren't Bond fans. It's quite fashionable to support even the worst Bond film in here after it comes out.

Also, I hoped many people in here were judging the plain song as well. But there are some who like to defend 'QOS' with any means....even with crap songs .

I'm also more interested in the reactions on the YouTube page. You see that even people who aren't Bond fans support the song hugely.

This is very true, I think.

It's not as good as the Bassey song, but light years ahead of the White trash.

After hearing this song, I actually appreciate AWTD much more than I previously did. At least AWTD was an attempt at something new, this new song is nothing more than a retread of several previous Bond title tracks, and it's not anywhere near as good as any of them.

Some things about 'Another Way To Die'. Are there some real musicians in here? Has anyone actually looked at the sheet music from 'AWTD'? Gosh, it looks boring like hell! Must be written in a hurry! It lacks any creativity. Compare it with sheet music from, let's say 'Surrender', and you know what I mean.

And if we start accusing 'No Good About Goodbye' about being too cliché....'AWTD' actually STOLE a few melody accords from 'You Know My Name', especially the opening riffs, and infused a great deal of R&B/rap into it. It's a twisted, B)ed up way of being 'original' and Bond doesn't need that.

Furthermore, all I wanted to say is, that Bond 23 should have that vibe that Bassey's song 'No Good About Goodbye' has. Do we agree with that?

No.

The theme for Bond 23 should be more upbeat rather than the depressing vibe coming from this rejected song. Bond has found his "quantum of solace", has made peace with the Vesper situation and all of that, so why should the theme of the next film continue to be depressing? It shouldn't.

Also, I don't want the next theme to have any similarities with this rejected song, as I find it to be just awful. AWTD isn't much better, but it is better IMO.

Did you know that Vesper Lyndt committed suicide in 'Casino Royale'? And did you know Bond's tormented love life in 'Quantum Of Solace'? Not actually.....very uplifting......

What about this then?

It surely is more uplifting. I'd welcome a romantic approach a la John Barry. Hence the lovely trumpet solo.

Yes, I know all of that. B)

All of that is over now. Craig has already stated that we're in for a more traditional film this time around, meaning that, as Bond showed at the end of QOS, we're moving on from Vesper and onto "the Bond we all know and love". The Vesper storyline is done, Bond has found his peace with it, and the franchise is moving on, meaning there's no need for the depressing music this time around, as everyone involved has moved on from the Vesper situation.

I never said I was a fan of AWTD. It's a terrible song too, it's just a bit better than the song that EON rejected.

I've seen that video too. The chorus is really catchy, and it has a great beat.

I would have to say neither is good . I didn't care for the hip hop AWTD, but I like the idea of letting Bond theme songs "evolve". NGFG is a beautifully sung and produced song in the old tradition, but it doesn't reflect a new Bond in a new age. My ideal Bond song now would be a Arnold/ Bassey creation but have them shaking things up a bit. More in the syle of "History Repeating", another Arnold (?)/ Propellerhead/ Bassey collaboration.

The rejected QOS "Not Good For Goodbye" in this thread is here:

It's NOT "The Living Tree" as heard here:

AWTD is rubbish - terribly misjudged in places, but I respect what they tried to do with it. The guitar rift is cool and funky - sadly the vocals and the remainder of it let it down badly. The nadir is Key's grunting towards the end.

The Forever song, I rather like - although I suspect I might be in a minority on that one. It clearly is more of a concept song - it could have been improved upon (eg. Lyrics, tempo, proper orchestrals) - and it does feature a fairly solid melody. It's perhaps a bit too old school for some. It would need work to make it into the movie however.

Which leads me to the Bassey song with Arnold. Just terribly bland. Really dull! I'd choose AWTD over it personally. Living Tree is far better as a Bond song (even if the lyrics aren't particularly Bondian).

I hope one day they might get the theme song right again - but after so many misfires you do start to wonder... I believe they would have more luck if they went for an lesser known artist. The big named artists haven't really brought anything of interest to the table since John Barry left.

These two songs are awful and would've represented a step backwards for the series' songs.

"Another Way to Die" has really grown on me, actually.

That's plainly ridiculous...

I'm sure a piece of Andrew Lloyd Weber sheet music would look more impressive than, say, "Jumpin' Jack Flash"'s equivalent, but that's clearly no indication of quality.
