I just listened to the preview and I gotta say it was a lot better than I expected.

I thought the same... The tone and mood are spot on I'd say.

That and I like how at one part they put in a little of the original Bond theme song, so I thought that was really cool.

Capital FM say they've got the first play of it at 0.07am:
http://www.capitalfm...t-play-capital/

I'm sure overseas folk will be able to listen to that somehow.

Is the countdown clock on adele.tv wrong for anyone else? On my machine, it's counting down to 0:07 EST, not BST. It says there are 14 hours left, currently, where it should say 10.

It probably just runs off your computer's clock.

The Adele site shows an incorrect countdown (on my computer) but does confirm the correct timezone.

According to this website,'Skyfall' is the 23rd James Bond theme tune.

There's something wrong imo.
James Bond songs (if it means "song" by "theme tune") are 19, plus 6 in the credits (FRWL, All time in the world, If there was a man, If you asked me to, Experience of Love, Surrender), and maybe two or three during the movies (e.g. Underneath the Mango Tree, Dirty Love etc.).

By my calculations, 5:00pm today, my time, should be 12:00am Oct. 5th GMT..so with luck I should be all prepped for downloading the song from iTunes and putting it on my iPod in just a few hours time...

We're still on summer time (BST) in the UK, but you're still correct, as the track should be released at 5pm in Colorado. 6½ hours to go.

It's already 00:34am of the 5th here, but we're +6GMT, so I'll just go to sleep now and wake up with the song having already been up for a few hours.

Ok, I've just heard the whole song - it changes quite a bit just after the sample ends. For the rest of the track, backing singers eco what Adele sings.

It's on sale at 0.07am; I presume radio stations all over the world will be playing it from then too.

Yeah, Capital FM are apparently playing it first (they must have some deal).

It's on at 00:07 tonight (well, tomorrow technically)

My reservations about the use of the Bond Theme are unfounded. It is just a small touch, It's very much its own song - it get's quite distinctive. And the chant-like quality of the backing singers is not like something in other Bond songs.
My first thought is that I love it.

Hairs up on the back of my neck in the final crescendo. Very impressive.

I can see why Adele commented on the strings. They're fantastic.

Still only 3 minutes 50 seconds approximately, so almost one minute more of the track in the full version. Presumably this is the radio edit, and may well also be the version used over SKYFALL's title sequence.

Found it! God bless Twitter.

I particularly love the bridge, her voice sounds very different to when she sings the chorus. Great range, that gal. And it really builds up at the end, like you said.

Didn't think this would leak so soon, but just like the QOS theme it's ripped from a foreign radio station.

Indeed we have RFM Radio in France to thank/blame. Fortunately it means I don't have to stay up until midnight when I'm up for work at 4am.

I've listened to it about 5 times now, those strings at the end really are terrific. Shivers every time!

So thanks to the wonders of the internet Vauxhall will get a good nights sleep! Everyone's a winner!

Dick move, France. Dick move.

It's certainly a Bond song. I like it. It's safe, but it's also fresh and exciting. It's very catchy, has a defined melody, and Adele's work is actually quite breathtaking. That long hold at the end is....Bassey. Brilliance. Bassey.

More than satisfying. And more importantly, exactly what I wanted.

I definitely can't wait to hear the full track. We're missing a full minute, and the end is cut off.

I heard it (my second listen, as I type). I really like it, I could definitely see how people can call it generic. It doesn't exactly break the mold, but what it does, it does extremely well.

Much better than AWTD. I don't like the background singers during the chorus, but otherwise very good. Very 60s.

Woah - that was not what I was expecting! And I think I love it even more now - it even has a few original flourishes for a Bond song. Okay - I have a fever at the mo - but neck hairs tingling/goosebumps. I think this is going to work great in the film. I can see those dancing silhouettes already... Love the chord at the end - very Bondian!
