Maybe it's the dress but that image just called to mind:

Not saying she'd be a bad Bond girl. Honestly I've not seen her in anything, as far as I know. Just a random observation.

Good catch. Actually I think Strahovski is a better actress than Bach.

I do as well (and that's not in any way a criticism against Bach, as she was very good in TSWLM, just an observation of how talented I think Strahovski is). I've been thoroughly impressed with Ms. Strahovski's work on CHUCK, and I stand by my statement earlier in the thread that she's one of (if not the) best actresses currently on TV. I doubt that there's any news on the Bond girl front that would get me more excited than hearing that EON had cast Strahovski in a Bond film, as I think that, while she might not be able to top Eva Green as the best Bond girl ever, she would certainly be able to make her mark as one of the best.

I have to say I think Samantha Morton would be fantastic in a Bond film, although probably too much of a big name.

But for me she has all the requisite sex appeal, intelligence and acting ability.
Not to mention charisma.

She could be on the side of 'right and virtue' or oh boy what a villainess she would make.

Bit of a dunderhead with computers so can't post a pic to illustrate my point. Sorry.

Here are a couple:

Thank you. i think those make the case quite admirably.

Well Sam Morton has acted with Daniel before so they might have an acting connection but I can't see it.

Wow, that's quite an amazing similarity there, Tybre!

Yeah, come to think of it it's not quite as similar as my brain had initially connected upon seeing that image, but iunno, brain still made the connection. Not to that exact still of Anya, but it was the best I could find.

Edit:

Connection is definitely still there. Just not as solid as previously thought.

Yeah I think chemistry would be there.

The second picture makes the point better than the first,on reflection.

I was thinking mainly of her smouldering performance in The libertine.

Each to their own.

How about Jewewl Staite? She's got a Canadian accent like Lois Maxwell, and I think she'd be a good Moneypenny. (pic below)

http://iconsf.org/ar...ages/Staite.jpg

PS- she's really good-looking too. Not that that influenced me. Not at all. She's a good actress, who just happens to be really good-looking. Hm.

I think they should have a major female atagonist for Bond with whom he gets involved.

Charlotte Rampling anyone?

or Francesca Annis with whom he has worked with before?

Ouch!!! B)

Though I'm not sure I'd be totally opposed, with the caveat that I've never seen her acting. Celebrities are notorious for looking like crap when they're away from the studio lights and out in public with the rest of us mere mortals.

Who said he would anyway? Maybe he'd sleep with another character.
Anyway, much less disturbing than sleeping with Fields who looked old enough to be his daughter.

You said "gets involved" which I took to mean.... sorry that interpretation probably says more about me than you.

I'm inclined to agree. The Sun however would go cragzy with "Bond Grabs A Granny" headlines and some Bond fans might start foaming at the mouth with indignation...

...actually the more I think of it the better an idea this is.

I highly doubt that.. but the involvement in a more "power trip" way.

Why thank you, time to mix it up a bit I think and as for The Sun, well all those stories can put into the Trash Depot so you won't see them. B) :)

Sexism was necessary in the sixties, because no-other films were doing that. But having only brainless barbie dolls in a 2010 Bond film is NOT my idea of a Bond film.

To be fair, we haven't really seen any "brainless barbie dolls" in a Craig film so far, at least not in major roles (not sure if Le Chiffre's girlfriend even counts as a Bond girl), and I hope, and think, that trend will continue. Many of my female friends certainly appreciate this, and I hope the producers/writers have learned from earlier mistakes by now (Sutton, Christmas Jones, etc.).

To be fair, most of the leading "Bond girls" in the past 20+ years have been written as intelligent characters. Sometimes it just gets messed up in the casting department (denise Richards). The Solange character from CR was basically there for Bond to have a fling. She was supposed to be a bimbo, but they cast someone who not only could play the part, but stunningly beautiful enough to excite straight men, gay men and I would dare to say straight women B)

Speaking as a straight woman (not that my sexual orientation really matters), I did find Caterina Murino to be extraordinarily beautiful in that role, and also quite believable as a rather silly Bond woman who wasn't a brainless bimbo. It was clear that she'd made her choices in life, and she understood that those choices had consequences. Still, she didn't deserve what Le Chiffre did to her (no one did), and in the end that made her a sympathetic character, for me.

By the way: I only just now realized that she and Gemma Arterton were in a film together (2007's "St. Trinian's"). Two similarly doomed sacrificial lambs in two consecutive Bond films, with the film they're in together sandwiched in between the two Bond films. Has that ever happened before?

As an addendum to the Caterina Murino discussion, I was channel-flipping last night and caught her in " "XIII" (which I believe is a miniseries). She was actually quite good in this, in a far more serious role than what she was given in "Casino Royale"; made me wish they hadn't killed off her character, as she could have been phenomenal in an expanded role.

Going way off-topic here, but over on IMDb, there's this debate over "XIII" being a rip-off of the Bourne films (sound familiar?) because of the amnesia plotline. This reminded me of a film from 1972 that many seem to have forgotten called "The Groundstar Conspiracy" (starring George Peppard and Michael Sarrazin).

Thandie Newton is beautiful, only she played the female lead in MI2 and I would imagine that would disqualify her from playing a similar role.

I saw Terminator Salvation today, and the only thing that impressed me, was: Moon Bloodgood. Even her name sounds terrific, doesn't need to change it.

She was allegedly nearly cast in THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH as a different take on CHRISTMAS JONES. The character was to be an insurance investigator but Rene Russo's exploits in THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR sort of cancelled Brosnan's Bond that option...

I've always wanted to see Vivienne Michel in a Bond film. It's a shame that it will never happen, though, but I think that the character would stand a chance to be one of the best Bond girls in the franchise.

I'm also still hoping that we'll get to see Gala Brand actually make an appearance on the screen as well.

I just watched COLD LUNCH, with a Norweegian actress named Pia Tjelta. I think she could be very good playing against Craig.
