A round of golf?? Hardly something we would know.

Does the man have black or blonde hair?

He's not blonde.

And he mentioned he was off to Vancouver in a TV news interview he did to promote the golfing event. So if anyone on here was watching the (UK)TV news over the weekend, they might well be able to put two and two together...

Well it can't be James Nesbitt can it???
Doug is ok I guess. RPJ would have been better.

To quote Ian:

Well he's done both. Recently finished what I'm guessing will be a relatively high profile TV series and has a few films on the go as well.

Ian

According to IMDb, Nesbitt is doing a little something called Occupation, which is three episodes in.
According to Wikipedia, Scott is going to feature in a show based around this book. Whether or not he's filmed it yet, don't know, but it's set to air this year, and the year's already half over, so it may well be.

So I suppose this is the nearest we're going to get until Ian can outright name it for us.

I hope it's not Scott but if it is I will hope for the best. Just saw a teaser for The Philanthropist. It looked ok but seemed a bit watered down . However reviews on youtube does suggest it's quite good.

He was in Desperate Housewives wasn't he?

Makes sense - not too big a name so will be interested in a high profile TV role. Not my first choice, nor my second, but hey, lets see how he does.

Thanks Ian - for a minute your lack of reply to my suggestion of Rupert Everett had me wondering...B)

(Unless its a doublebluff... )

Thank You Ian. Much appreciate feedback into the world of Saint. From what you've been saying I think they have been getting screws right and Scott though not my favourite is quite popular with ladies and also he is a good action man.

"The situation has become so dire that one our most successful home-grown TV actors, James Nesbitt, has hired a US agent and is reluctantly turning to Hollywood in search of work because of the financial crisis now squeezing British TV drama. "I was challenged here, I enjoyed what I was doing," Nesbitt recently told Radio Times. "But the British TV industry is in a desperate state – not creatively but financially. There's so little happening here."

Sorry but don't see him as The Saint. Way too rough.

Oh, it's not bloody James Nesbitt is it?!?

Don't get me wrong, he's alright and all, but he's already been the lead in about 80 TV Dramas this decade. I would prefer someone more interesting and unusual. Dougray Scott to me would be far more interesting.

The moment Nesbit is cast in a Saint series, I'll loose any interest in watching it. And I'm not even a fan of the character, due to my limited exposure to it.

Totally agree. What bloody let down that will be.

Agree. Robson Green would be great! He was fantastic in Touching Evil.
He's a bit short though.

Thanks ... don't know what to make of either. But Nesbitt is not known in US? I could be wrong. I did however watch Five Minutes Of Heaven and he was good but never saw leading man hero.

He's been on a few things on the US PBS channels I think. The one where he was the werewolf? Got a lot of play in the US I think.

James Nesbitt or Robson Green? Dear God, that's like being asked if you'd like to be shot or poisoned. Though if either were cast, I think I'd ask for both gun and poison just to make sure I didn't have to sit through the result...

The name sounded familiar when he was first mentioned, but I couldn't think of what I'd seen him in. But then, I tend to watch a lot more foreign productions than domestic, so it's possible I saw him something that never quite officially made its way over here.

Of the two I think I may even prefer Nesbitt, oddly. He had that kind of self-confidence and style you might associate with the Saint when he was Hyde in 'Jekyll'. I'm not convinced it actually is him, though- I wouldn't describe him as known across the Atlantic.
