Well, to be fair, the things that make a James Bond movie aren't the gunbarrel or theme or main titles. That's all window dressing, but one could make an entirely worthy Bond film without 'em. That said, I don't really want to see 'em go (quite the opposite), I'm just saying that the argument that removing such things destroys the franchise doesn't hold water.Agreed, removing the gun-barrel is crazy talk. Let's take out the theme and the main-titles whilst were at it... And why use the name James Bond in the next film, let's create a new character?

Yeah, they've done well to keep the film off the net so far. Mind you, it's out in China now. So, it probably won't be very long before it turns up online somewhere.Looks like the precautions are working to stop the THIEVING [email protected] done, keep up the good work.how are there no pics or vids of the gunbarrel Hell half of the dark knight was on youtube by this point.

I wouldn't recommend watching it for the first or even second time in any way but on the Theatre screen .It won't have the same impact because the visuals are so beautiful. Wait and watch the official release or you'll do yourself a disservice

Did MK12 do the "HitchHikers Guide to MI6" table as well?

I haven't seen the film, but I've seen little bits and pieces of MK12's work on it, including some of the title cards. Of the few I saw, I thought they looked great. Really creative, and a nice touch for a Bond film.I think the whole MK12 thing was a misfire, from the grainy, Ocean's/KissKissBangBang wannabe title sequence (with the Flash animation preset font) through to the chav-striding, enormous and ugly gunbarrel by way of the confusing "graffitti" location titles.
The little bit of the title sequence represented here (from HMSS) made me keen to see more. I really dig what you deem the "flash animation preset font," and the style presented in these pics looks really stylish indeed:

Yeah. I'm not overwhelmed by those pictures (or the step-by-step description on HMSS), but it does seem that MK12 has done a classy job. Not up to the peak of Bond title sequences, but certainly far above the worst.Agreed, I think the titles for QoS look really good.

My only gripe was that the actual gunabarrel lacked a little detail.
Oh, and there's a little surprise if you continue to watch the gunbarrel once it has turned red.

They appear deliciously retro.

Yes, very much so. As with the location titles I have seen. It may all go pear shaped when I see everything in motion, but so far with these stills, so far so good. They appear deliciously retro.

Aye, I like it. As much as I loved the way Kleinmann worked images related to the plot into his titles - the oil of TWINE, and the way he kept the story going in the DD titles (probably the best thing about that film) - I did think they got a little over-busy; case-in-point being the retro-coloured x-ray guns in TND and the over use of Etch-a-Sketch in CR (Bond shoots right when Arnold's credit comes up and all these loopy bright yellow lines shoot out; it looks weird as hell) and the silly end part where Craig vanishes in four parts. These ones look both minialist and moody, and I think they look fantastic, especially the firing of that gun.The little bit of the title sequence represented here (from HMSS) made me keen to see more. The first is so cool, you don't even care AWTD is playing.
They look a lot better on the big screen.

There must be a "keep Mr. Somerset from seeing the new gunbarrel" conspiracy going on.

Luckily they were put together, so they didn't waste too much time.

The reference to YOLT was awesome, and they definitely improved AWTD by deleting the weird parts of it.

I think this gunbarrel design, with the FYEO music with Timothy Dalton is probably THE most perfect incarnation of a James Bond Gunbarrel.
It looks classic and it all fits so well, and Dalton does the walk and stance justice.
Take note for Bond 23...nice and relaxed, not rushed.

I wonder if he was ever up for the 007 gig after Connery/Lazenby?
