WILL YOU SHUT UP ABOUT THE FRIGGING GUNBARREL!

Please don't use all caps its is annoying and childish. I'm sorry that not everyone agrees with you but that is life. I respect your opinion so the least you could do is show me the same and not blast at me like some IMDB troll with a broken caps lock key. We are all fans here no need to be rude Mr. Mharkin007.

ForMathis, I agree with you, but... c'mon, it's just this film. We'll have better luck for Bond 23 (I hope)

ForMathis, there's no respect for those who go on and on about one particular aspect of the movie - it could be considered as spam. SO PUT A :(ING SOCK IN IT! :)

IS THAT WHAT IT IS? I THOUGHT IT WAS THE SOUND OF A COLLECTIVE GASP WHEN EVERYBODY SAW THE GUNBARREL AT THE END AND THOUGHT THAT THEY'D WITNESSED THE LONGEST PTS IN HISTORY. :)

What is your problem? Mharkin007 apologized, as did I and we both stopped talking about this yesterday then you come in and reply to my post calling me a spammer? even though I clearly have not been spamming.

You are incredibly childish, and need to learn to accept that other people are going to have differing opinions too you and stay out of other peoples arguments (especially when they are over and the two people have 'made-up')

Hopefully you can find something more valuable to do with your time than try to drag me into some absurd flame war because I don't like where the Gun Barrel is in the film.

So please, stop harassing me

Reading the review again on the first page, the opening titles seem VERY interesting. It's really great to hear that Bond has been integrated into the opening titles again. I cannot wait to see them. :(

yea, they sound great. I'm looking forward to them too sounds like a mix of classic titles with the CR style ones and since I liked the title song I'm quite excited for this.

The Car chase sounds amazing also, and after that clip of Fields, Bond and Mathis at the air-port I have a feeling this whole movie is going to be like that, a blend of classic Connery-esque Bond with the new rougher Bond.

One Question for Kitt22, what did you think of the plane scene? Would you agree with the buzz about it being Hitchcock-ian?

The gunbarrel...

Spoiler

I can live with this. It makes perfect sense given the context of the film as the end of Bond's origin and thus gives birth to traditional Bond.

But...they already did this with Casino Royale. The gunbarrel wat at the end of the PTS, which was also done in black and white, for that very reason.

For me personally I will feel this playing with the postition of the gunbarrel a waste of what they did with it in CR. I was looking foreward to a grand, traditional opening to this one.

Completely agree. Although I like what they did with the gun barrel in CR at the time, the QoS placement would have fit better in CR. So it seems, we now have two "misplaced" gunbarrels.

It may be wishful thinking but I think it is highly possible that the GB will be officially moved to the start of QoS at some point. A later DVD release or something.

I completely agree with those of you who are against this, but the topic has kind of been worn out, there is another thread specifically for the Gun-Barrel that we can talk about it on. Lets keep this thread for the other aspects of the review.

Kitt22, would you please elaborate on the plane scene, as I asked, thank you.

EON have never reedited a Bond film for DVD release, there are no extended editions, no directors cut. Why would they add something as inconsequential as the gunbarrel to the beginning of the film when that goes against what the filmakers intended?

That's just as bad as buying pan and scan over widescreen.

Mistake? In the eyes of who? Forster? Wilson? You?

It seems most of the people here are open to the idea, hell a lot of people even like it. So who's eyes exactly is it a mistake in?

I agree. How about people actually SEE the movie first before making a judgment?? I admit, on paper the idea sounds strange but its definitely not "upsetting." I think the people who are getting their panties in such a twist about something they haven't even experienced yet with their own two eyes should sit back and reconsider a few things about their own lives.

Sheesh. :(

It depends which plane scene we are talking about. From memory there are 3 scenes involving planes. 1) The one with Felix, Greene, Elivis and the other CIA guy 2) Bond and Mathis on a Virgin Atlantic plane to somewhere and 3) The DC-3 dogfight in the desert.
I loved them all but am not sure which one, if any, were Hitchcock-ian?

Hi Kitt22. I read your review and I like it very much. But could you answer on my question. What is the fate of Mr. White in the film? TOday I read a topic on this forum that in the extentended version of the film he was supposed to be head villain of the Quantum Organisation. And you said that we don't see QUantum Boss in the movie. But does anyone even mention him? Plaese answer to my questions.

Could someone tell me, either Kitt22 or Stamper... What was with the whole 'run' thing, written on the note. In the trailer?

SO Mr.White just disappears and never comes back in the film. This is probably why some of the reviewers have said QoS has plot holes. IF that scene had of been kept it would have cleared a few things up, but forced EON's hand to continue with the Quantum storyline as well...

Not necceseraly, White is last seen at the Opera.

Bond :(s off after Greene doesn't he? White probably goes back to Quantum HQ. Just because everything isn't explained in a movie, doesn't mean to say it's a plot hole.

It's the same with Felix in Casino Royale. He goes to extract Le Chiffre, doesn't matter where and how he does it. We're following Bonds story, thats why it shouldn't be a great concern.

I suppose.

I wonder if there is any chance the deleted ending could find its way to being the opening scene of Bond 23 is EON decides to continue with the Quantum storyline.
